Parkwood Village Pool in Maybunga, Pasig : My First and Last Splash

Wazzup Pilipinas!

Every student awaits their two month vacation or also known as summer. Not just students, but also the working mass. Everyone is all eager and anticipating this couple of months where you get the chance to relax and unwind from all the hustle and bustle of school or office life. Nobody can deny the fun that summer offers to everyone.

Here comes the outing, camping and other recreational activities that include the jaw dropping sights from different beaches of which these activities are held.

But let’s admit that not everyone is enjoying their vacation. Just like me, most of the time, we only stayed home.

Most of the time, my family and I would just stay at home and do some movie or TV series marathon. That is how I spent my summer with them. We would stay up late just to finish the movies or TV series. And when we’re all sleepy and tired, that’s the only time we’ll stop watching and get some sleep. Usually, it takes us until 6 0r 7 in the morning to finish watching.

At other times, we’ll play “Guesstures” just to lighten the mood after watching some horror movie.

I had lots of fun with my family members playing the Parker Brothers Guesstures card game. This Guesstures board game features an Action Timer, 378 cards, and a trophy for the winner. Each card has words printed on them and you have to use gestures to let your team find the right answer within the given time limit. After finding the word, you must grab the card out immediately or the Action Timer would munch it when time runs out.

The Parker Brothers board game is actually similar to the traditional charades game
, but Guesstures turns up the heat on the tired game of charades with a few modernizations. Good, quick pantomiming is still the thing, but now teams need to act out really fast - split-second charades game. Pop four cards into the Action Timer, then set it and start acting fast.

This family board game can be played with more than four players by choosing between hard (for advanced) and easy (novice) levels.

Though we didn’t go to some place during vacation, it’s okay for me because I still had some fun bonding with my family.

And the best part of summer for me is when we celebrated Arjude’s birthday. He rented a place for us to have some karaoke. We bought him a cake without him knowing it. And his parents ordered some foods for us. Just like pansit and other side dishes. We also had loads of junk foods.

But there are also some events that made my summer very enjoyable. My fellow C0CCs and I had a night swimming at the clubhouse pool of Parkwood Greens Executive Village.

Parkwood Greens Executive Village has been very popular before because of the prime location of this subdivision. It is about 15-30 minutes away from Makati, Ortigas, The Fort and Libis. A variety of great schools nearby to name a few - St. Paul Pasig, La Salle and Brent International School. The New Medical City is just a short drive. SM Megamall, Robinsons, Tiendesitas, SM Hypermart, Rustans, and NAIA airport are not that far.

However, when the Ondoy flood came in and flooded almost the entire Metro cities of Marikina, Cainta, Taytay and including Pasig, almost all subdivisions that were submerged under flooded waters depreciated in value.

Regardless of what they say, the subdivision provides you with modern conveniences of a progressive community complete with facilities to make your life easier. Parkwood Greens Executive Village is a great place especially when its not flooded.

That night swimming at Parkwood Greens Executive Village was the first and last swimming I had during the whole summer.

It doesn’t really matter where you spend your summer. What matters most is the fun and experience you had during that 2 month vacation.

Hi Japs! Happy to read your article :)). You know what, just like you, I also spent my vacation at home. But here's the good thing, we had a bonding moment with our family. You and your family had a movie marathon together, Hahaha, its really cool, it shows that you have the same interest. I'm also glad that Im part of your summer vacation. I was with you at arjude's birthday and the COCC outing. I agree that it was the best. I also had a great time with you guys. My vacation became not-so-boring because I got a chance to be with you and our other friends. I hope that we could make it again in any season of the year :))

    Good job Japheth :))

Hi Japheth! I'm glad that you made an article about our outbound with our fellow Co's. Our outbound is one of the days that I enjoyed this summer because honestly speaking after our outbound I became a very busy person dealing with my summer class and after that most of my summer days were actually spent at home and strolling at the mall. I super enjoyed our outbound and hopefully many more to come so that we can have a lot of quality time together with them. I'm also thankful that I got the chance to spent some of my summer days with you because you're one of my closest friends that I usually hang out with and I'll never be tired of being used to that.

  3. Hey Japheth! I enjoyed reading your article. It brings me back to those times when we didn't worry about a thing. Especially during my birthday. I'm happy that you considered it as your best experience during those hot summer days. I hope we can have more times like these and have lots of fun times in the future! Happy birthday, by the way! :)
