Mayor Vico Sotto of Pasig city is making his mother proud

Wazzup Pilipinas!

"Laging tandaan na wala kayong utang na loob kahit kanino (lalo na sa politiko) dahil pera ito ng taumbayan. Na-a-appreciate ko naman kapag may nagpapasalamat sa kin pero naiilang ako dahil di ko pera to.

Mag-aral lang kayo nang mabuti, sulit na ang investment ng Pasig sa inyo."

Pasig City Mayor Vico Sotto tells students that they should not thank him for their scholarship because it was the people’s money that funds their education.

Intellectuals know that ever since, but there are still too many who believe they owe a lot to these politicians who are simply managing taxpayers money.

We've always elected politicians who act like we owe them everything, that this idea actually seems absurd.

It feels good to finally hear it from a politician. Louder po Mayor Vico.

Flex ko lang Mayor namin because why not? He is an EPITOME OF GOOD GOVERNANCE.

I'm hating the government right now because of the corruption and incompetencies of the current administration, but I'm also crying because Mayor Vico makes me believe there's still hope and future for good governance.

Mayor Vico always hit the bull's eye. We should not feel indebted. Politicians should be. He has the right thinking that all politicians and government officials should emulate.

Pasig is so blessed. PasigueƱos must have done something right to deserve Mayor Vico.

Actually, we are not blessed. We voted right by not being fanatics. Remember who Mayor Vico was running against. If we remained loyal rather than intelligent, malamang baka ganoon pa rin ang Pasig until now.

With leadership of Mayor Vico, Pasig's future is brighter than the Philippines. If he didn't run in the first place, Pasig would still be Pasig ran by the Eusebio clan. More than two decades of Eusebio was more than.enough. There should be a law about this but most of our politicians have made politics a business venture.

This is how we end political patronage. There's still hope for the Philippine politics with leaders like Mayor Vico. Good citizens + good public servants with good policies = better country.

I badly wish all politicians are like Mayor Vico. I know he's only rightfully doing his job but this man has proven time and time again that he cares for the people he's leading, unlike other power-hungry (too many to mention) government officials.

Mayor Vico is someone na hindi inuuna yung ego or nakikipagpataasan sa ibang politicians. He doesn’t care about those things. What he really cares about is doing his job which is to serve people.

Mayor Vico is truly making his mother proud.

For he is such a responsible, kind, caring and genuinely humble person.

This is the kind of leader that we all need. Mayor Vico Sotto, please hawaan mo lahat sila. Very competent mayor.

If only Digong is half as humble as Mayor Vico.

Mayor Vico for president. Age should not be restricted when running for president. Sadly, only a handful has this type of mentality among our politicians.

Remember when a group of DDS, tried to destroy a student life just because he was grateful for our country men?

How ironic that these DDS are siding to both politician with a completely different political views.

We really need to fix people’s mindset that government projects are funded by the people, not the officials.

It’s the official’s job to place where to prioritize that funding and we should hold them accountable for it because it is OUR money, not theirs.

Kudos to Mayor Vico!

Sheraton Manila Bay Lights Mabuhay Jeepney at Virtual Christmas Tree Lighting

Wazzup Pilipinas!

Sheraton Manila Bay kicked off the holiday season at Marriott Philippine Virtual Christmas Tree Lighting ceremony

Sheraton Manila Bay marked the start of the yuletide season with virtual Christmas Tree Lighting ceremony together with Marriott properties in the Philippines on November 5, 2020.

Sheraton Manila Bay’s ceremonial tree lighting event was graced by Manila City Mayor Francisco “Isko” Moreno Domagoso and Manila City Vice Mayor Dr. Honey Lacuna-Pangan, and led by hotel General Manager, Richard Masselin. The event was simultaneously held with the Christmas lighting activities of other Marriott properties including Manila Marriott Hotel, Sheraton Manila Hotel, Clark Marriott Hotel, and Courtyard by Marriott Iloilo, and was live streamed via Facebook. The Community Choir, the hotel’s singing ambassadors, serenaded the attending associates with classic Christmas Carols while the hotel’s culinary team prepared a festive buffet feast complete from ham carving station to holiday-inspired desserts.

Inspired by this year’s theme “Welcome Home for Christmas”, Sheraton Manila Bay’s 12-feet tall Mabuhay Jeepney symbolizes the warmth of home and the promise of travel. The Sheraton Manila Bay “Mabuhay Jeepney” features vintage-designed luggage atop the jeep while on the front seat is a volunteer Frontliner— a subtle tribute to our modern day heroes. A myriad of bronze, white, green, red and gold embellishments don the lobby credenzas while the gingerbread house, styled in similar fashion, were filled with holiday hampers and homemade goodies.

In keeping with the spirit of giving back to the Community, Sheraton Manila Bay launched the Cards of Care. Each pack includes 12pcs Christmas Cards with scannable Spotify Christmas playlist and reusable packaging available for Php 200 net per pack. The proceeds from the sale of Cards of Care will be donated to Aurora Quezon Elementary School and Charity Fund for the benefit of the children of Barangay 699. Accepting the hotel’s Pledge of Commitment to donate 500pcs education materials was Barangay 699 Chairman Edwin “Amo” Chan.

Christmas Displays Tradition of SM Supermalls Will Continue for the Filipino Families

Wazzup Pilipinas!

If you want assurance of a wide selection of choices, better quality, affordability and reliable customer service, there is no other choice but SM Supermalls. It's the Filipinos' all-occasion shopping center, grocery, hardware, gadgets and appliance store, furniture and household wares shop, and most everything else, whether it's for buying a gift for a birthday, wedding, or any other celebration especially Christmas, the SM Supermalls and it's other forms like Hypermart and SaveMore, are on top.of everyone else.

And now that Christmas is almost here, not even the pandemic can take away the beloved tradition of Filipino families to celebrate this joyous season at SM.

Noone's stopping the Filipinos to celebrate Christmas at the malls. We are letting the wonderful, magical and truly merry Christmas at SM drive away the blues! Sama sama tayo sa Pasko sa SM!

Seriously, even during the pandemic, puro SM grocery kami every weekend for weekly supplies ..then Ace Hardware for a new drill, pots for my garden, led lights, paints, etc, dahil more time to renovate the house during the pandemic. Sa department store, for new curtains, bedsheets, pillows, blankets, ...sa SM pa rin best place to shop...

SM Supermalls is still our preferred shopping place regardless of the Pandemic...Sayang ang Christmas lightings and activities because kids will miss them this year.

But it seems I spoke too soon because at a media launch, Wazzup Pilipinas just covered the #SamaSamaTayoSaPaskoAtSM and we got to know the plans of SM Supermalls.

It was a magical Virtual Media Event to launch Christmas Displays of SM Supermalls because NGAYONG PASKO SAMA-SAMA TAYO SA SM. Stephen Tan gave a message leading to the presentation of the many elaborate Christmas displays at all SM Supermalls branches, plus the activities they will still hold inspire of the pandemic since they'll strictly implement health and safety protocols especially when more people come in to see the attractions.

Thank you SM Supermalls for inviting us to join the virtual Christmas Centerpiece Launch!

Almost 15,000 Participate in Avon’s Events for Breast Cancer Awareness Month

Wazzup Pilipinas!

Avon’s activities for this year’s Breast Cancer Awareness month were a success. 2020’s campaign, BOOBwatch, was all about educating about the importance of early detection. With all the three fundraising events mounted online, Avon was able to reach more people and generate awareness at a grander scale. This year’s events were all for the benefit of the Philippine Cancer Society.

First up was BOOB Talk, a breast care catch-up with Dr. Gia Sison, Dr. Rachel Rosario of the Philippine Cancer Society, Avon Ambassador Daniel Matsunaga, TV host and News Anchor Dianne Medina and host Myrza Sison. Held last October 10, the online chikahan became a fruitful conversation about breast cancer viewed by more than 6,200 people. Franz Tolentino, a breast cancer survivor and active Avon representative, also shared her personal stories about fighting the Big C. Franz was an incredible source of inspiration for those who are dealing with the disease.

Avon also made sure that they raised funds in an entertaining way, and they’ve got the help of one of the Philippines’ top female singers. Shaped for More with Morrisette: The BOOBwatch Fundraising Concert was streamed via Facebook, with more than 5,700 of viewers tuning in. Morrisette sang hits by Adele, Jessie J, and some of her own hit songs. Before the concert, she shared her pride in being part of this great cause, “I am excited to be part of this campaign because I believe in their Breast Care Promise. Prevention is always better than cure. Our health is not something we want to compromise. We are shaped for more and we should not let anything or anyone hold us back from achieving our purpose.”

The brand’s last event was a fun and energetic one, ending the festivities on a high note. The #JoinTheBoobment Manoeuvres Fitness Dance-a-thon, also streamed via Facebook Live, was one and half hours full of high-energy dance routines and happy people viewing and donating. The renowned dance group took viewers down memory lane, as they danced to the hits of the 70s all the way to the hits of today, making it a fun event from titas to millennials. Zamora with James Gaddi taught the viewers a quick Tiktok dance tutorial that shows how easy and fast it is to do a breast check by yourself.

For those who couldn’t join the events, Avon has released a special collection to help raise funds as well. For every sale of the Empower Bra (Avon’s first-ever mastectomy bra), the Breast Cancer Promise Umbrella and Tote Bag Set, and Evita Watch P50 wasd donatedto the Philippine Cancer Society. You can continue to donate to this cause through BPI Account number: 0141-0431-53 or GCash Account number: 0917-5372662.

Through this year’s efforts, Avon hopes to make a better world for all women, which is a better world for all. Breast cancer is the most commonly occurring cancer in women, and this is why Avon makes it a point to keep their advocacy going. This year, the brand is thankful for being able to reach more people (14,069 in total) than ever by bringing the events online.
