Here's a message from the Host of the PhilMusic Community MeetUp:

Hi everyone,

With the PhilMusic meetup coming tomorrow (July 5, 2013), we would like to take this chance answer some if not all of the questions that are regularly popping up. So here goes:

1. What the Heck is PhilMusic.com?
The PhilMusic.com domain was registered in December 1996, making this one of the longest surviving Philippine dotcom domains. The site itself went through all sorts of versions, from a music scene blog to its current life as a community forum site for local musicians.

2. When is the PhilMusic Meetup?
It takes place on Friday, July 5, from 6 pm to 9 pm. Or until SM Aura closes!

3. Where is this taking place?
It’ll happen at the SMX Convention Center, 3rd Floor of SM Aura in Bonifacio Global City (aka “Da Port”) in Taguig. This is one of the activities at EMEX 2013 – the Electronic Music Conference & Audio Expo happening from July 3 to 6, 2013.

4. Is this gig Free?
Why YES it is, but you need to register through our Eventbrite account. Click HERE to register.

5. Is EMEX free?
NO. But if you register for our meetup, you get free tickets to EMEX! More info about EMEX Here.

6. Will we meet the Mods?
(aka the PhilMusic Forum Moderators) Why YES you will!

7. Will there be a Jam?
Yes, we’re organizing an Open Jam but you have to sign up for the Jam. Sign up for the Jam Here.

8. Will there be gear?
Yes hell there will be GAS, because the music expo is happening in the big hall right outside the venue. GAS galore. (to the uninitiated: GAS refers to Gear Acquisition Syndrome).
9. Will there be beer?
YES.

10. Will there be a PhilMusic Meetup 2.0?
If we get this right, there will be a whole slew of PhilMusic Meetups, hopefully bigger and better than this one!
