How I Rocked the Heat Last Summer

Wazzup Pilipinas!

According to the Merriam-Webster dictionary, staycation is defined as a vacation spent at home or nearby. College is just a few steps away. It means that I will be away from our house, so it was okay for me to spend the summer at home. It may sound tedious, but trust me, I had tremendous memories last summer.

Last May 12, 2013, my niece Lara celebrated her first birthday. It was a children’s party, but I didn’t let my children’s-party-pig side to hide. I took advantage of the food. I had not only one, not only two, but four plates of food! Yes, you’ve read it right! Four plates of delicacies, gelatin, pasta, hamonado, chop suey, menudo, fried chicken, and of course, rice. The little guests participated in games like Bring Me and Palo Sebo. I had fun hosting the games.

I am glad to say that I spent four days of my vacation at school. Yes, I did not go there to relieve myself from stress, but I really felt great because I helped in cleaning our school. I would not be there I were not an SSG officer, though. It was our obligation to give a hand to our school, as student leaders. I must admit all of my co-officers were not my friends. Four days is a short time, but obviously, it was enough to bind us and prepare us for the school year. Most of them are not serious people. I mean, they are outgoing and weird. We had a lot of crazy moments which buzzed us out of our seats.

Cameras were already flashing when we arrived at the EDSA Shrine Chapel last May 29, 2013, to attend Ian Mateo L. Manuel’s baptism. I am his youngest godparent, yet I arrived late. Well, that’s okay because I was with my cousins who were godparents, too. I was too afraid to carry my godchild because he was only one-month old back then. The seven-pound baby would have lost his head if I had carried him. The baptism also served as a mini-reunion. Some of our relatives live in Antipolo and Laguna, so we normally see them only once a year.

My taste buds repel sweets, but my body attracts making sweets. I make ones with a twist! Pastillas and polvoron are delectable, but have you ever tasted pastillas rolled in polvoron? I did not plan to make such, but the consistency of my pastillas mixture did not meet the standard pastillas mixture. Good thing my brother had made polvoron the day before I made pastillas. The best thing is that my experiment turned out delightful. I may not be good at cooking viands, but I may be a good desserts-maker someday!

Guess who made it to The North all by herself! MEEEE! I looked for reviewers online because I did not enroll in a review center. I saw an ad about five MSA Reviewer Books on sulit.com.ph for only five hundred pesos, so I immediately contacted the seller. We agreed to meet at SM North EDSA The Block, which is pretty far from our place.

Trust me when I say I did not have any doubt to travel alone because I have always wanted to go to places that are not just 15 kilometers or so away from our place alone. It was my first time to ride the MRT alone, my first time to roam around a mall alone, and my first time to fight for a jeepney seat alone. It was really tiring to commute. Nonetheless, the experience was transcendent.

Watch out on how I will rock the cold!

  2. You won’t surprise anyone with sophisticated climate control equipment in apartments, offices and industrial premises. High-precision automation allows you to control temperature parameters with an accuracy of half a degree, and additional features create a favorable microclimate. Properly selected and installed, air conditioners can operate for many years, but any complex equipment has its weak points. Luckily, you can always find help from Helios Air
