The Youth for the King (Y4K) Sports Fest : Spells Really FUN

Wazzup Pilipinas!

There was nothing really special that happened this year if it will be compared to my summer vacation last year. There were only a few things I did outdoors. I spent almost all my time inside our house not counting the weekends because I go to our church every Saturday night and Sunday morning, which I do regularly even if it is not Summer Vacation. So you can see that there’s no remarkable difference between my summer days and school days.

What did we do during weekdays this summer vacation? Wake up late and Sleep late. Clean the whole house EVERY SINGLE DAY. Eat anytime we want. Watch Movies, Korean Dramas, and TV Shows. Surf the net as soon as we wake up. Study a little. This became our daily routine.

Well, of course, I also did some things worth of my time, things that I can say useful and somewhat memorable.

I together with my 3rd year classmates and some other batchmates enrolled in PTS, a review center for college entrance exams at Katipunan, Quezon City near Ateneo. The review was only 6 days, from 8am to 5pm. Going there and going back here in Pasig was really tiring, there were times that we had a hard time getting a jeepney to ride on nevertheless I enjoyed each day that we spent with each other. I enjoyed it because I got the chance to have a new experience with my friends and also meet 4 new teachers that are really awesome.

During our last day of review we decided to eat snacks in McDo Santolan, it’s the happiest and coolest day of my entire summer vacation. We talked about a lot of things, like the courses we will choose, our future, and shared some family problems and issues. We realized many things because of the different stories and opinions of each other. We enjoyed too much our sharing time that we did not notice the time, we stayed in McDo for almost 2hours and got home a little late but it’s okay because it’s worth it anyway.

I also spent time with my 1st year classmates. My first year classmates and I met up in one of our classmate’s house, in Christian Angel Darang’s House. It is where we usually gather up before when we were still classmates because we are always welcome in their house. We did what we always do before, food trip, watch movies, picture taking and had a walk in Rainforest.

If I had time meeting up my 1st year friends, I also had time to have a bonding moment with my elementary friends and my childhood best friend. We organized a swimming in Greenwoods. It’s been years since we had time for each other, and I’m so happy that we had a bonding moment after all these years. Well, it will be much happier if many of our classmates attended our mini gathering, even so I was still very delighted that we had this. I hope for a next time.

Lastly, is the Y4K Sports fest which was held on June 1, 2012 in Valley Golf, Cainta, Rizal. The Youth for the King (Y4K) exists to be a partner of every churches within (EFCP Luzon Region) in Reaching the Lost for Christ, Empowering the Reached, Equipping the Empowered and Mobilizing the Equipped.

It’s an organization for the youth of different Evangelical Churches in Luzon. The sports fest had 4 teams: Blue, Yellow, Green and Orange. I belonged to the Yellow Team and we became the champion. We had volleyball and basketball, which have girls and boys division, there were also chess and other games. I met and built new friendships from different churches, the most memorable happening in that sports fest was the basketball, women’s where I played. I can’t share everything that had happen but the whole sports fest was really F-U-N.

To sum up everything, my summer vacation was simple but memorable. Being in Philippine’s beautiful spots is not necessary to have a memorable vacation, as long as you are with the ones you love you will be happy in any places you go.
