SilkAir, the regional wing of Singapore Airlines (SIA), commenced services on November 25 to Yogyakarta, Indonesia.

Yogyakarta is the 45th destination in SilkAir’s network, extending the airline’s reach to 12 destinations in Indonesia. SilkAir’s other Indonesian destinations include Balikpapan, Bandung, Lombok, Makassar, Manado, Medan, Palembang, Pekanbaru, Semarang, Solo, and Surabaya.

Gateway to the famous Borobudur Buddhist Temple and Prambanan Hindu Temple in Central Java - both UNESCO World Heritage sites - Yogyakarta is the hub of classical Javanese fine art and culture, renowned for its puppetry, batik and poetry.
