Filipinos Reign High Among Beauty Competitions

Wazzup Pilipinas!

Almost every girl dreamed to be a beauty queen someday. Girls were likely done everything just to achieve a pretty but simple look. ‘Beauty queen’ is not just having a pretty face it includes traits, talents and intelligence. If you possessed all of that, you’re worthy to be called a ‘beauty queen.’

Last August 18, 2013, the Miss World coronation night was held at Indonesia. There are 127 contestants who competed for the said title. And proudly to say, Miss Philippines, Megan Young got the crown last. This is the first time, our country Philippines got the title since 1951.

During the preliminaries, she gave her best to win some awards; she won the ‘Top Model’ award, placed fourth in the ‘Multimedia Contest’ and fifth in the ‘Beach Beauty’ contest. She also received the title, ‘Miss World Asia’ the highest rank among Asian countries.

As the new Miss World, she has to travel around the world to visit and have a charity work there.

Recently, the Miss Universe pageant was held on November 9, 2013 at the Crocus City Hall in Krasnogorsk, Moscow Oblast, Russia. There were 86 countries who participated in this event. And I am proudly to say again that Miss Philippines, Ariella Arida made it to the top 5. She is the 3rd runner of the said pageant. Not bad.

She made it first to the top 16 via the social voting and was chosen to the top 10 down to top 5. And she is the only contestant who answers in English during the question and answer portion. She was asked by the judge Tara Lipinski about lack of jobs and she intellectually answers it despite the fact her English was intrigued before.

I am really proud of them. The efforts they made in order to win, is highly appreciated. They did their best. And their victory is our country’s victory too. We can’t deny the natural beauty that we, Filipinos have. We have these charming appeals that lead us on the top.

  1. It's true that every woman in this world once dreamed to be a beauty queen but unfortunately only the fortunate were given the chances but still being a filipina like Megan Young and other filipina beauty queen out there was really heart whelming because they were bringing the pride and confidence for the other filipinas that they were also beautiful and have the capability to excel on their own. Filipinas are really beautiful and if they need proof well there it is :)))
