Mitoy Wins The Voice of the Philippines!

Wazzup Pilipinas!

I knew it from the first time time he stepped on The Voice of the Philippines stage. Blind auditions pa lang, si Mitoy na talaga yung Voice of the Philippines material. Tumatayo ang balahibo ko every time he sings.

After weeks of battle rounds and live shows, The Voice of the Philippines announced its Final 4: Mitoy Yonting, Myk Perez, Klarisse de Guzman and Janice Javier.

Now, Mitoy Yonting from Pangasinan emerged as the grand champion! In a tight clinch and walang mintis!!!!  This victory by Mitoy was a communal event!

I have to say that the Lea-Mitoy-Vice Ganda production of The Voice of the Philippines singing competition cum reality show topped all performances that night at Resorts World Manila. Mitoy held himself up against such stellar performers! It was epic!

Mitoy Yonting with Lea Salonga and Vice Ganda sang "Total Eclipse of the Heart."

Miriam Defensor even posted an image on Twitter showing the "Face of Mitoy and Lea".

Ang lapit ng labanan 57-43 in favor of Mitoy! Congrats Mitoy and Klarisse! Congrats to the whole team! Mitoy wins The Voice of the Philippines with 57.7% of the public votes.

One of the highlights for me was when he and his wife hugged onstage. A fan tweeted the photo above.

Mitoy sang the right song for a finale. His iconic pose at the end of the song may have clinched it. May bertud nga ba ang halik ng isang kabayo? Lol to Vice Ganda!

Joey de Leon also notes that the acronyms of Miss World winner Megan Young and Voice of the Philippines grand winner Mitoy Yonting are both M.Y.

Myrtle Gail tweeted that the color yellow somehow helped. "There's just something really lucky about the color yellow. Before si yellow, tapos ako yellow, ngayon si Mitoy yellow din.:)"

BTW, Shane Filan former member of the Westlife boy band, was also there as one of the shows highlight performance. The guy has been here five times already and perfrmed for The Voice of the Philippines along with the contestants in a great production number.

Thought Balloon: "The poise....The professionalism...Ikaw na talaga, !!!"

Team Lea's Mitoy Yonting wins "The Voice of the Philippines" was the headline the following day and still continues to trend in most social media sites.

On the other hand, it only shows that Filipinos are easily enamored by power belters or should I say, "screamers". I got tired of Mitoy's voice. It's just the same kind of singing every week. I think there's nothing new he could offer.

Feeling ko isasama si Mitoy sa group nila Jovit, Marcelito and Angeline! Toroy! Bongga! Isang sakohan na lang. Bwahaha! Jowk! Only in the Philippines can you see a voice made for the opera, yet goes mainstream. My heart died a little when I found out it was Mitoy.

Si Mitoy ang nanalo kasi The VOICE ang sinalihan niya, Sali ka nalang sa The GIRLS Klarisse, baka ikaw pa manalo. Lol!

Nevertheless, congratulations to Mitoy for being the very first winner of the Voice of the Philippines! He deserves to win Mitoy. His "eargasmic" voice sounds like Freddie Mercury of Queen. The audience loved it because he has singlehandedly given life to old jukebox hits.

Mitoy is like the Nancy Binay of . Everybody hates him pero he still wins.

I so love Mitoy right now, but I believe Klarisse has more to give and will have a longer career span for the country. Again, as for me, Klarisse is a Total Package. But Mitoy is a One-of-a-Kind package. One distinct artist!

Congratulations to Mitoy, who proves that Filipinos like their talent wrapped in character. Better luck next time to Klarisse. Don't worry, she will have a good future, believe me!

  4. Mitoy really deserved the title 'The Voice of the Philippines' because he has his own way of expressing his feelings through music.. He sings in his own style and that alone is world class talent. He gives me goosebumps every time he performs.
