It's More Fun in Kebabers!

Wazzup Pilipinas!

I first learned about kebabs when I won a grill ideally designed for cooking kebabs at a company sponsored event. The grill had a pair of long shiny metal skewers. Skewers are thin metal (or wood sticks) used to hold pieces of food together. They are used while grilling or roasting meats, and in other culinary applications. More or like similar to what is used for barbecues.

According to Wikipedia, kebabs are a wide variety of skewered meals found worldwide that originated in the Middle East, and later were adopted in the Balkans, the Caucasus, other parts of Europe, as well as Central and South Asia. In English, kebab with no qualification generally refers more specifically to shish kebab cooked on a skewer. In the Middle East, however, kebab refers to meat that is cooked over or next to flames; large or small cuts of meat, or even ground meat; it may be served on plates, in sandwiches, or in bowls.

As what their Facebook page says, Kebabers is considered to be the first Kebab fast-food in the Philippines. It is the only Persian Fastfood Restaurant that serves affordable yet quality Middle Eastern cuisine with a twist of Filipino taste.

You've got to try out their variety of kebab dishes all created for a pleasurable dining experience.

Let me share to you our visit at their newest branch located at SM City Manila branch. It's now the 7th branch of the continuously growing Kebab fast-food chain in the country.

The place is quite small but it has the cutest interiors and wall designs that spells CREATIVITY with all caps! Meaning, I'm such a sucker for comical representations that add fun and coolness to anything, so the sight of their adorable Middle Eastern mascot along with word balloons scattered around the resto brought back childhood days when I used to draw comic characters.

There's something in me that makes the word balloons seem to pop out and really talk to me. Hahaha! I know it sounds so loony, but the child in me has stayed to keep me enjoying life as it was meant to be - an amazing adventure!

Actually, those word balloons could become useful especially for those that couldn't have the guts to utter the words to their loved ones...hehehe. Imagine letting your girl sit facing those word balloons on the walls at Kebabers and then saying "I feel the same way towards you.." Wow! Isn't that romantic?! (giggling out loud).

But the place is not the only thing commendable, wait until you tried out their food!

I feel in love at first bite - of the Beef Pichos - a generous serving of homemade Persian nachos that were fried to perfection and then topped with ground beef and freshly chopped cucumber, tomatoes, and onions. All of these coated with your favorite garlic sauce and a huge chunk of grated cheese!

The Beef Kebab Shawarma let's out an irresistible crunch that you'll have to bite again and again to satisfy your craving. There are other variants available like Sirloin Steak, Keema, Chicken and Fish Kebab

There's the Crunchy Fish Meal that offers a healthy choice of fish and veggies on top of some yummy rice. This is far better than the traditional fish fillet!

The Shawarma Bowls allows you to enjoy a filling shawarma rice bowl like the Monster Beef with ground beef, chunks of tomatoes, onions and cucumber with FREE ICED TEA! Also available in Peppered Steak and Crazy Chicken!

I simply couldn't get enough of the Keema Meal, a combination of ground beef with tomatoes and onions that's also served Double Up! for the people with big appetites! It disappeared immediately as me and my friends quickly gobbled up this delish dish.

The Kebab Meal comes in two or three pieces with choices of beef, chicken or fish. You have to try out the ones with cheese inside - Cheese Kebab Meal - that offers a taste of tasty melted cheese in every bite.

Lastly for dessert, we tried their Chocolate Fudge that was conveniently served in a plastic container ready for take-out anytime we please. They said that one bite of this and you might forget your name - ehh, I believe there were three of us who shared this sweet treat and I seem to forgot who they were - does that count?

Overall, I can say that you won't be disappointed when you visit Kebabers. They serve very affordable yet filling meals that's great value for your hard-earned money. It's a new fast-food craze that has swept the Metro since its very first branch. It is no surprise if we see them coming out with more new branches soon.

For less than 100 Pesos, you can now eat the best kebabs in the metro! People will surely fight over Kebabers' meals once they get a chance to taste their dishes. But don't worry, they already have seven branches to serve you (and more branches soon) so you'll have more opportunities to grab a bite of their kebabs.

Come visit them now, especially the SM City Manila branch that is conveniently located at the 4th level of the mall very near the Cinemas..... and even the rest-rooms!

You can also visit Kebabers in any of their branches located at Katipunan, SM Fairview, Eastwood, SM North, Kapitolyo, and BGC!

Thank you to owners Gian Carlo Sim and Gian Franco Sim for accommodating us at Kebabers!
