Wazzup Pilipinas!

I guess everyone is now joining the bandwagon of entertainment specifically on the influence of Korean fashion and entertainment in our country. It was surprising to receive an invitation from a government-managed television station announcing a reality contest whose aim is to search for K-Pop Idols.

Apparently, they partnered with a group from Korea to produce a new reality show on television to attract all K-Pop die-hard fans out there which are really huge. The figures are shocking and to learn that teens and the younger years are very much into the fad, then it will spell success to the partnership's endeavors.

The People's Television Network (PTV 4) invited members of the media for the press launch of the K-Pop Idol Search (KIS) - Pinoy Edition last February 7 at Makati Shangri-La Hotel to witness its partnership with HBKOR in producing KIS-Pinoy.

Mr. Kim Jung Su, president of HBKOR, Inc. made a ceremonial toast with Cleo Dongga-as, General manager of the People's Television Network to symbolize the bonding of the partnership.

The stage was set for K-Pop Idol Search (KIS) Pinoy Edition.

Makati Shangri-La Hotel was teh venue of the K-Pop Idol Search (KIS) Pinoy Edition.

Representatives from PTV 4 emphasized that the station will continue to prioritize government campaigns including recognizing Filipino world-renowned talents.

HBKOR Inc., chose the Philippines, and PTV 4 specifically, to hold the KIS Pinoy talent competition.

An open forum was held to answer all the questions of the members of the media.

The event was hosted by Bianca Saldua, Miss World Philippines 2013 Second Princess, and all-ladies Korean group Black Queen performed three song and dance numbers to the amusement of the crowd.

The performance of the Korean group is mostly a teaser to what we would expect from the reality talent show where they will search for the newest K-Pop Idol in the Philippines who stand a chance to win a 5-year exclusive contract with a Korean-based talent management company and be sent to Korea for a 6-month intensive training and many other opportunities. The winner will also win 1 million pesos, plus another million to be spread out among four other contestants who will emerge as the top finalist of the search.

On top of the five champions, Kis Pinoy will also recognize promising talents with monthly special citations like KIS Pinoy Idol of the Month, Most promising Idol, Darling of the Media, The Voice of KIS Pinoy, The Look of KIS Pinoy, The Move of KIS Pinoy, plus Trendsetter of Luzon, Visayas and Mindanao, also of Metro Manila will be given out every end of the month.

  2. It is important to remember that HBCU Colleges In Texas are still relevant, even though they have faced a number of challenges over the years. Their ties to the African diaspora, and their rich culture have helped them survive and thrive. They have a history of preparing students for careers in the sciences and research. The University of Virginia and Howard University are two examples. Despite their relatively poor financial standing, these schools have launched successful science and research initiatives to attract underrepresented minorities in the fields of engineering, computer science and social science, according to data from the National Science Foundation.
