Suspect in Kae Davantes Murder Arrested

Wazzup Pilipinas!
"A suspect in the murder of ad executive Kae Davantes is now in the custody of the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI). The 19-year-old suspect, Samuel Desimo, admitted that he and 5 others held up ad executive Kae Davantes at knifepoint. He said they killed her after she recognized one of his companions. They also tried to burn her car." -ABS-CBNNews.com
Kaya pala naka-balandra ang mga van ng ABS-CBN kanina sa NBI office sa Manila. May nahuli na raw na suspect sa pagpatay kay Kristelle "Kae" Davantes.

The suspect admitted his role in Davantes murder to the media, but says 4 others are involved.

Why would he surrender?hmm something's fishy. Doesn't seem to be a convincing confession. Seems like there is more to this story.

Warning : Fake Wazzup Pilipinas Facebook Fan Page Discovered

Wazzup Pilipinas!

Please be warned that there is a FAKE Wazzup Pilipinas Facebook Fan page that was discovered recently. It used my blog header and then named the page as Wazzup Philippines.

FAKE : https://www.facebook.com/wazzapph

It is obvious that the people responsible in creating this FAKE Facebook fan page intends to confuse the followers of our blog....and maybe to lure our fans, followers, and PRs, partners, etc., away from our real Facebook Fan Page....

Wazzup Pilipinas has already accumulated a great deal of Facebook Likes and continuously growing everyday. In just a short time (only a few months) it has accomplished a lot of achievements and has recently become one of the Top Ten Emerging Influential Blogs of 2013.

Sun Cellular and Opera Mini Join Forces to Democratize Internet Access for Filipinos

Wazzup Pilipinas!

When a speaker in one of the recent presscons that I attended said that the number of smartphones have already surpassed the number of toothbrushes, I can't help but laugh yet fully agree. Smartphones, and its relatives like the tablets and phablets have taken over the world.

It is surprising that the demand for smartphones is now twice as great as compared to computers (both desktop and laptop). Thus the popularity of apps and browser-based programs compatible with smartphones.

This is probably why a telecommunications network and a smartphone browser have joined forces to give users and their subscribers more reasons to keep stuck using their smartphones but at a more affordable and convenient way.

For as low as Php 15, you can now surf the Internet all day.

P 17.5-B Mactan-Cebu International Airport Project Bidding Set In November; Injunction Case Dismissed

Wazzup Pilipinas!

The bidding for the P 17.5-Billion Mactan-Cebu International Airport Project has been scheduled for November this year according to the Department of Transportation and Communications (DOTC), giving bidders almost two (2) months to prepare more competitive proposals for the project.

“The bid submission date is set on November 15, 2013. We have been working hard to find the balance between government and private sector interests. This gives sufficient time for the bidders to finalize their proposals,” said DOTC Spokesperson Migs Sagcal.

In the meantime, the DOTC will seek the approval of the National Economic Development Authority (NEDA) to make certain changes in the terms of the project, such as extending the concession period from 20 years to 25 years, and transferring the liability for the payment of certain real property taxes to government. These changes were prompted mainly by the results of the one-on-one meetings conducted by the transport agency’s Special Bids and Awards Committee (SBAC) over the past few months.

Mocha Uson for Breast Cancer Awareness : Art or Insult to the Catholic Church?

Wazzup Pilipinas!
"Controversial model, singer, and sexy dancer Mocha Uson is looking to push the limits of freedom of expression, as she donned a nun's habit, which she stripped off while posing with naked men." - ABS-CBNNews.com
Walang kwentang reason: Asked what her purpose is in carrying out the pictorial, Uson said,"Also 'yung awareness din sa breast cancer kasi babae parin ang madre, at isa 'yon sa mga advocacy ko, to examine the breast." Ang sabihin nila ay gusto lang nilang magpapansin.para sumikat.

Sobra na iyan! Maraming nakakakita ng mga pics ninyo sa mga websites. Ano ba yan, for art's sake kuno, kamo for fame's sake at for money's sake.

Be controversial and it's a sure way of getting everyone's attention! Nakakahiya silang tatlo!!!!!

This is so offensive. Sana nag-isip na lang sila ng ibang concept instead of this. Ganoon na lang ba?? If someone wants to exercise freedom of expression, all they have to do is "MAGHUBAD"???

Random Acts of Kindness at the Ayala Triangle Gardens

Wazzup Pilipinas!

We were only informed of what was about to happen that very same day. Just like the same people who were surprised of what was about to happen that day, we were also trying to figure out our participation to the said event.

Are we going to be part of the group to offer a random act of kindness, or are we going to be at the other end?

Later we found out that we could also fall in line and get the chance to receive a gift just like the others.

I have not started to fall in line yet but I was already offered a gift by the PR owner himself. Wow! Thanks!

Maybe I deserved it for being the early bird who arrived at the event 30 minutes before the call time.

The Last Time for Pistang Pinoy

Wazzup Pilipinas!

It will be our batch's 4th and last time to have "Pistang Pinoy" in Pasig City Science High School. Though there were last minute announcements about what food to bring, (well they said that we should only bring light snacks or finger food because there will be a meeting at the school's gymnasium with the parents and the former city mayor.) that didn't stop our batch's eagerness to have the best Pistang Pinoy in the history of our school.

Though there were some tension earlier the day, because of some problems. Especially the food issue but whatever. Since our classmates has catering service, to be fair and just, we decided to order from them and the best part is, we were exempted from our Social Science pretest because we were one of the top who has the best food plus, the school also grant us 200 pesos.  Our batch also bought/rent a dirty ice cream cart that is more than enough to feed the whole batch!

Epson Alerts Public On Importance Of Projector Color Brightness

Wazzup Pilipinas!

Epson Philippines Corporation (EPC) held a Media Technology Briefing aimed to drive public awareness on a global metric that could help customers get the most out of projectors they plan to buy.

Epson’s technology briefing focused on the Color Light Output (CLO) metric that determines Color Brightness in projectors. CLO (or Color Brightness) is a scientific global standard that measures the luminance of the colors Red, Green, and Blue. The metric was specifically developed to measure significant differences in color brightness performance among different projector models and brands to provide consumers with fair and accurate information.

Most users determine a projector’s capability to successfully present vibrant images with the projector’s brightness, measured in lumens. In general, the higher the number of lumens, the brighter the projector. However, the widely-used lumens specification measures only white light, and according to a recent study from TFC Info Associates, more than 70 percent of projector buyers do not know this fact.¹

Napoles, Malacanang and the Pork Barrel Conspiracy Theories

Wazzup Pilipinas!
"These allegations merits a PUBLIC SHARE on my timeline not for any other reasons other than knowing the whole TRUTH about the matter. The article presented a lot of questions that needs to be answered and as of this moment there have been no attempts to provide a satisfactory 'no bullshit' answers to all the QUESTIONS!" - Raine De Ocampo

NAPOLES HAD LUNCH AT PALACE BEFORE SHE SURRENDERED TO PNOY
By Francisco Kit Tatad | Opinion | Manila Standard Today

(Personal Note: As it appears, their battery of online trolls - the same ones who attack me each time I have a column that is critical of the President - have succeeded in blocking the link to this article, flagging it as having malicious/ inappropriate content. How can the link to a Manila Standard Today article be blocked from being posted/shared on Facebook? Is someone afraid because the truth is starting to come out? Solution: Copy-paste. Please share so these trolls' efforts will be for naught.)

Contrary to what the nation and the rest of the world have been led to believe, President Benigno S. Aquino III spent several hours in “closed- door conversations” with Janet Lim Napoles, the suspected mastermind in the alleged P10-billion pork barrel scam involving selected opposition lawmakers, before showcasing to the media her formal “surrender” to “the only person she trusted,” on the evening of August 28, 2013, authoritative sources have revealed.

This incredible detail was completely left out of Malacanang’s official statement, which had sought to present Aquino’s meeting with Napoles as no more than a 10-minute affair that ended an otherwise fruitless manhunt of a celebrated fugitive from justice, and was witnessed by several Cabinet members and duly recorded for posterity by the Malacanang press office.

Loob Labas : A Group Exhibit

Wazzup Pilipinas!

LOOB | LABAS focuses on the use of man-made found and natural found materials. The artists tackle themes “within” and “without”(outside), such as self, childhood, home, community, environment and the natural world around us. Works are laid out within the China Hall of the GT-Toyota Asian Cultural Center, the Rear Garden, and extending to the building’s rooftop.

Using a combination of natural and manmade found objects, Reuben Ramas Cañete, art writer and professor at the Asian Center, creates a reflection of the cyclic aspect of existence: from germination, growth, decay and death, to rebirth, using leaves & branches, paper, and charcoal in his work “Sarcophagus”. For his installation work on the rooftop, he lays out a directional sign for magnetic north with the lingling-o motif—a prehistoric Philippine fertility symbol, with painted concrete tile, white pebbles and lights, to comment on contemporary regional problems.

Jake Salvador, a former photojournalist for the Manila Bulletin, burns plywood scraps to transform them into weapons of his childhood. Again using wood, he playfully turns dead tree trunks into what he calls “happycons,” providing rest to the weary beside living trees.

Miley Cyrus : Twerking Her Way to the Bank on a Wrecking Ball

Wazzup Pilipinas!

So which broke first? The video record or your heart? Well, I think I got hit hard by the wrecking ball and my mind is still filled with all the twerking!

After the VMA's, I knew the next step was nudity. It was the only thing left for her to do to get attention, and it didn't take her long. I just don't think she's a good singer, but who is listening for any vocal talent? As for her body, she is 20 and that helps a lot, but she is kind of running out of anywhere to go next in videos. Now the next step is ....to do a p0rn0 with James Deen?

My guess is, for her next step, after the CD has run its course..... will be toning it down. That's the smart play, and the girl is smart. Let the haters hate... she's laughing (and twerking) all the way to the bank.

The Best of Anime 2013 : Cosplayers Here, There and Everywhere!!!

Wazzup Pilipinas!

"Cosplay , a portmanteau of the English words costume and play, is an activity in which participants wear costumes and accessories to represent a specific character or idea from a work of fiction or sources that include manga, anime, comic books, video games, and films. Any entity from the real or virtual world that lends itself to dramatic interpretation may be taken up as a subject. Inanimate objects are given anthropomorphic forms and it is not unusual to see genders switched, with women playing male roles and vice versa. There is also a subset of cosplay culture centered on sex appeal, with cosplayers specifically choosing characters that are known for their attractiveness and/or revealing costumes." -Wikipedia excerpt
The gang was all there! They were all so eager and excited to dress up as their favorite anime characters... complete with the moves, the pose, and the attitude!

All male, female and everyone else in between (lol) were flaunting their fabulous outfits depicting popular anime characters that have obviously made an impression on them. Many outfits were customized to fit the cosplayers perfectly and a lot of accessories like weapons, jewelries and other props were amazingly crafted just for events like these.

There were a lot who really spent a fortune in their outfits all for the sake of their love for anime!

Some went all the way to create very expensive outfits and props, while many tried to be resourceful in the materials hey used.

The Best of Anime 2013 held last September 14 and 15 at the SMX Convention Center Mall of Asia Complex also featured popular Japanese personalities that wowed the huge crowd.

Dutdutan is also the one place and time when age and social status cross boundaries to take pleasure in a very personal and intimate brand of self expression.
