Wazzup Pilipinas!

No matter what role Filipinas play, may it be a housewife, a mother, a leader, - they do it with pride, confidence, and strength. Through time, women’s role has changed, only allowing them to shine even more.

Beautiful Wedding Locations That Are Yet To Be Explored

Wazzup Pilipinas!

Naturally, it is crucial to book an appropriate sized wedding party facility. You do not want to rent out an overly large facility and also have only a tiny section stuffed. Not simply does that make wedding ceremony feel scaled-down than it actually is, but that costs you more when you are renting an increased space. For just a small wedding party, you want an intimate feeling, as it is most probably just your own close relatives and buddies attending. For this reason, you want to discover the perfect little wedding area.

Churches along with Cathedrals

An incredible wedding doesn't mean forgoing a normal church program. Many places of worship boast gorgeous constructions, stained goblet windows along with other features. Intended for Catholic marriage ceremony, look straight into cathedrals. Most cathedrals utilize ornate industrial designs to create a beautiful placing.

For example, many people utilize Scottish Ceremony Cathedral within Indianapolis, Ind., for weddings. Beyond the appearance from the church or cathedral, adding blossoms can improve the beautiful from the room along with ceremony.

11 Unsecure Mobile and Internet Messaging Apps

Wazzup Pilipinas!

Kaspersky Lab, a leading developer of secure content and threat management solutions knows that in the age of Internet surveillance, private and secure messaging is a necessity.

The Electronic Frontier Foundation (EFF) recently published a thorough analysis measuring the security and privacy of a long list of mobile and Internet messaging services.

Some providers passed with flying colors, others struggled to make the grade and a number just plain failed.

Interestingly, the list of apps and services that are sleeping on security will, unfortunately, seem all too familiar.

For that reason, this list will focus primarily on the most popular messengers but will also note the poor-scoring, less popular ones as well.

ResDiary: Making a Mark in the Local Restaurant Industry

Wazzup Pilipinas!

Less than two months since ResDiary announced its initial foray into the Philippines, the UK-based restaurant booking specialist remain steadfast in making a mark in the local restaurant industry. Mike Breewood, ResDiary Chief Operating Officer recently visited the Philippines to further solidify the brand’s commitment to the local restaurant industry and personally meet with potential customers.

There's nothing like a good promotion to get customers in the door, and restaurants are no exception. Whether it's a discount on a meal, a free drink with purchase, or a contest with a prize, promotions can be a great way to drum up business.

When it comes to restaurant promotions, the sky's the limit. But no matter what kind of promotion you're running, there are a few key things to keep in mind. First, make sure your promotion is relevant to your target audience. There's no point in running a kids' coloring contest if your restaurant is geared towards adults. Second, make sure your promotion is properly publicized. Use all your channels, from social media to in-store signage, to make sure people are aware of your promotion and how to take advantage of it.

ResDiary forged new partnerships with key industry movers during the annual event of LTB Phils.– WACS World Chefs Day 2014 at the Spectrum of the Raffles Fairmont last October, a yearly gathering of renowned chefs, suppliers and partners and  appeared on ANC Shoptalk to talk more about ResDiary and its features.

ResDiary’s partnership with local Tech-solutions company Govago Inc. was made possible with the combined goal of digitalizing restaurant management to make every restaurant experience a hassle free event for diners all over the country.

Since ResDiary brought its product to market in 2006, the company has grown to 4500 users around the world, spread across 30 countries.

Mike Breewood said that ResDiary Philippines is aiming to offer its online reservation and table management system to busy restaurants in the mid-to premium sectors.

Discovery Channel Presents "Saving Africa’s Giants with Yao Ming" Premieres November 21

Wazzup Pilipinas!

A special documentary narrated by American actor Edward Norton and starrred by world-famous basketball star Yao Ming, presented by WildAid and Discovery Channel expose the African poaching epidemic, which fuels a multi-billion-dollar global black market.

The one-hour feature documentary premieres on Friday, November 21 at 9:00 p.m., exclusively on Discovery Channel.

Background on the crisis and the demand that fuels it

Each year, the death toll rises with 25,000 African elephants murdered last year alone, and 4.5 million killed in the last 60 years. These magnificent creatures are victims of ivory poaching, perpetrated by one of the most organized, widespread wildlife trafficking networks in history. The growing demand in China and Southeast Asia is driving sharp increases in poaching.

In China, ivory is prized as a status symbol by the nation’s growing affluent and middle classes, and the country’s legal market perpetuates demand and provides a laundering mechanism for illegal, poached ivory from Africa. Rhino horn is highly sought after for purported health benefits. In Vietnam, rhino horn has a reputation as a cancer treatment and a hangover cure regardless of the fact that the horn is composed of keratin – the same substance as human hair and fingernails.

Find Out If Franchising Is For You

Wazzup Pilipinas!

Take a look in any street in the country and you will likely see a franchised business as more and more people are making the decision to engage in entrepreneurship.

One of the reason franchising has been so successful is that; a synergy is created between franchisor and franchisee. Together the two could achieve things that as individual business people they could not do. While there are many examples of successful franchises, buying a franchise is no guarantee of success. A great factor in franchising success is the personal traits of the franchisee. Here are some traits of successful franchisees.

1. Willingness to be a team player

The key to a successful franchise relationship is close cooperation between the franchisee and franchisor. The franchisor must take care of the interests of the franchise as a whole which may require complete cooperation in the part of the franchisee. The franchisee must also follow the system prepared by the franchisor. In the case of Aquabest, it appoints specialized franchise relations officers and customer care representatives to attend to the concerns and continuously build good ties with the franchisee. This means that Aquabest and its franchisees can work as a team to help each other succeed.

Filipina Boxers Turned MMA Fighters Ready for One FC: Warrior's Way

Wazzup Pilipinas!

Filipina boxers turned MMA fighters Ana Julaton and Jujeath Nagaowa are both set to show their wares on December at SM Arena.

ONE FC’s May event in Manila earlier this year was a successful endeavour, as both former professional boxers Jujeath Nagaowa and Ana Julaton earned victories and solidified their standing as leading belles of women’s MMA in the Philippines.

At ONE FC: WARRIOR’S WAY on December 5, they aim to put on a repeat performance. Both women will once again be in action on the same night. Nagaowa is set to face Cambodia’s Tharoth Sam while Julaton has a stern test in front of her against Egypt’s Walaa Abbas.

The ONE FC female mixed martial arts scene continues to thrive, especially with the addition of the two former boxers. Julaton previously won both the WBO and IBA Super Bantamweight titles in boxing.

Julaton then decided to try her hand in mixed martial arts and immediately fell in love with the sport. She has now enlisted the help of prominent wrestling coach Ricky Lundell to improve her grappling and is eager to showcase her newfound skills in her next fight.

Julaton is now set to fight in Manila for the second time, and will look to have her hand raised in victory once again in front of her fans in the Philippines.

Team Kramer Got Hooked on DIY with the 3M Command Damage-Free Hanging Solutions

Wazzup Pilipinas!

What do you give someone that has everything? Give them any of the product line, especially the hooks, of 3M Philippines. I'm sure they would like to hang something to organize and add more space at their homes, offices or schools.

Hooks are a common sight at places where one wants to organize stuff especially nowadays when space are becoming smaller like in condominiums and apartments and even at housing projects that cater to the masses .... and since majority would like to do the organizing themselves, Do-It-Yourself (DIY) projects have been very popular.

3M Philippines has been a consistent leader in bringing to the consuming public several revolutionary ideas that are indeed so useful. Their products make life so convenient for many households, offices, educational institutions and everywhere else needing of ingenious products that are also affordable.

The company continues with its amazing track record by launching the Command Damage-Free Hanging Solutions for our kitchen, bathroom, living room, bedroom and everywhere else where we hang objects and just about anything and everything.

Wally Watthead and His Lost Glow: A Bubbles and Confetti Filled Magic Show

Wazzup Pilipinas!

Seeing bubbles and confetti flying through the air is fascinating especially if you're a kid. As an adult, it brings back memories when we used to play with our bubble machines, and throwing itsy-bitsy pieces of shredded paper in most celebrations. May it be a children's party or a special occasion among adults recognizing an achievement, it's quite joyous to see an attraction.

Even grown-ups were amazed of the sudden bursts of confetti and bubbles at the Wally Watthead and His Lost Glow magical show held last Friday November 14, 2014 at the PETA Theater Center. The children were not the only ones cheering. Even the grown ups were thrilled.

The clown-like magician Wally Watthead (played by Janne Raudaskoski from Finland) doesn't talk much in the show but his facial expressions were so wacky that his further interactions with a giant mobile phone named Simon the Simcard (voiced by Jonathan Hutchings) and a screen-projected Polly Picture (played by Tuija Nuojua Raudaskoski) was as funny as watching my old-time favorites children's show during my younger years.

Confidence: The Secret to Taking The Plunge

Wazzup Pilipinas!

Living the life you’ve always dreamed of begins with confidence. If you feel that it’s the one thing you’re missing, here are a few steps that will help you gain self-assurance.

Know your strengths and weaknesses. Confidence comes from knowing who you are, which means being able to determine both your strengths and weaknesses. By being in touch with both, you can make better life choices. This is also a good gauge on things you need to improve on and work hard at, helping you create a better version of yourself which you can be proud of.

Expect your success. Pessimism is not just draining: it also undermines your performance. Expecting the worst possible outcome can dampen your spirits and make you more worrisome rather than hopeful. Choosing to think that the outcome will be positive and successful helps in building your confidence.

Take risks. Ironically, taking risks helps develop us into becoming better people. There’s no confidence found in doing the same things over and over again. We develop who we are by doing things that we don’t naturally do. By overcoming things that used to scare us, we develop a stronger sense of self, something needed in becoming more confident.

Pasay Business Conference 2014: Preparation, Business Linkages and Financing for ASEAN Integration

Wazzup Pilipinas!

As Pasay City business chamber prepares for the coming of the ASEAN Integration next year, it is high time to further discuss and share information on this. The Philippines should play an active role in pursuing the integration of Southeast Asian economies because many would like to find out if the country will benefit or suffer from the integration.

Though the country has comparative advantages that should make integration beneficial to Filipino businesses, there are critics who fear that the Philippines is not yet prepared for integration because the Philippines could lose out in a regime of tighter market competition in the region.

To help in the ASEAN Integration preparation, the first Pasay Business Conference was organized to benefit businesses who would like to get a better view of the issues. The conference will be held on November 25, 2014 at Heritage Hotel, Pasay City with the theme “Preparation. Business Linkages and Financing for Asean Integration,"  and aims to inform and educate the majority of Pasay City business owners on the concepts , best practices , do’s and don’t’s and further prepare for the Asean economic Integration.
