Government offers 1 Million reward for reporting tax-evading influencers

Wazzup Pilipinas!?

Tax expert and former Bureau of Internal Revenue examiner Mon Abrea said not many people know about the reward they could possibly get for being an informant or tipping authorities about tax evaders.

Informer's reward: given to a person who will report suspected individuals or businesses violating tax laws. The reward is a sum equivalent to 10% of the surcharges, revenues, or fees recovered, and/or fine or penalty imposed and collected, or P1 million per case, whichever is lower.

Subject to 10% final withholding tax which shall be withheld by the government.

Lol!

“Social media influencers” include those individuals who generate income for service as bloggers and vloggers from any online sites such as YouTube, Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, TikTok, Reddit, Snapchat, etc.

So paano po magreport? Itatag ko ba dito lahat ng influencer?

Now na po ba? Banat By, Mocha Uson, Michael Troy a.k.a. Sass Rogando Sasot, Ttinking Pinoy, Harry Roque!

Thanks for pushing and endorsing Squealer Culture in the Philippines.

That's 1M of tax payers money. Maka 1M kala mo pera nila. They should work on cleaning up their deep rooted corruption issues first and strive for excellent service kesa hunting down civilians to get more tax money. Annoying.

Encouraging people to be a snitch kapalit ng pera.

This administration cannot be trusted.

Why not report corrupt government employees instead?

How about 1M reward for reporting public officials that misused, misaligned, and deliberately stole public funds? Siyempre hindi ninyo gagawin kasi mauubos kayo diyan. The audacity!

Especially government officials, get 1 million reward per corrupt. That is much better. Malamang ay wala ng empleyado sa gobyerno.

But how would you know if they did really evade taxes? Just a quick reminder fellow citizens before you point fingers to others make sure that you have evidence as well.

Suggestion to BIR: Release a list of influencers who paid taxes then we'll report influencers we know who are not included in the list. Amount of taxes paid may not be included for confidentiality purposes na din sa kanila.

Hindi ba dapat itry muna ng government to prove that they're not corrupt by providing proof of their alleged corruption from all the loss of money and loss of track of paid taxes from their other sectors before trying to get taxes from these vloggers/influencers?

I mean, gets ko yung pagkuha ng taxes from them and I have nothing against that. Gets ko din kung bakit against yung vloggers/influencers on doing so kasi before the gov't start doing so, shouldn't they think of what their reputation is for most of us Filipinos?

Ang point ko is, a government with such a huge amount of loss doesn't do the justice of seeking other ways to get taxes from.
