Jewelmer 2015 Annual Gala: A Journey to the Extraordinary

Wazzup Pilipinas!

We were invited to attend the annual gala night of Jewelmer, a Filipino jeweler brand whose pieces are sold in mainstream stores worldwide, and supplies golden pearls to many international designer brands.

The Jewelmer brand name, put together by Filipino scion Manuel Cojuangco and French pilot and pearl entrepreneur Jacques Branellec, was coined from the English word "jewel" and French word "mer" which means "sea" in English. It is a partnership made several years ago that could be called a divine providence of which eventually resulted to another widely-recognized brand every Filipino should be proud of.

The annual gala was held at the Manila Peninsula Hotel on October 20, 2015 dubbed as "A Journey to the Extraordinary" where the company flaunted new priced pieces of their jewelry collection and new video presentations featuring how Jewelmer came to be.

The celebration was hosted by the adorably stunning Issa Litton, who introduced the two main men behind the brand. Both Cojuangco and Branellec gave their respective messages to the delight of the elite crowd.

Here is an overview of the happenings during the 2015 Jewelmer Gala Night

After a festive feast of Poached Lobsters, Duck Consomme Broth, Sous Vide Australian Lamb Loin, and a trio of desserts made up of baked cheesecake, vanilla macaron and creme brulee, that were all paired with spectacular wine brands like Pouilly Fuisse Dormaine de Chalet, Poilly of 2013 from Chardonnay, and Chateaux Puycarpin, 2010, Cabernet Sauvignon from Merlot, plus a  Gaillac White for the dessert, glamorous models paraded the runway all wearing Jewelmer's fabulous collection.

It was also amazing to dine on an awesome menu while a constantly changing 180 degree Paris-landscape background was displayed around us.

The night was made more special with musical performances by a live band led by Mel Villena, a graceful ballet act from a female child, and some mimes bringing out some laughter from the audience.

I left the celebration when the crowd was all eager dancing up in front while Mel Villena and the AMP Big Band was heating up the night with their faster beats.

Before the main program and dinner, there were cocktails served during the registration and acceptance of guests at the upper lobby of the Manila Peninsula Hotel where caricature artists were available to sketch you within only a few minutes. Thank you to Jay R Pagud for the incredible artwork.

Outside the hotel entrance was an undoubtedly luxurious Rolls Royce- Jewelmer Wraith model that will surely make your jaw drop with its impressive look.

The celebrities we spotted at the gala were Solenn Heussaff, Erwan Heussaff, Matteo Guidicelli, Tessa Prieto-Valdez, Maurice Arcache and Johnny Litton who personally approached us to crack a joke when he saw one of the lady guests wearing a brightly-colored dress with a floral design. You can send us a message to ask about that sort of naughty joke.

We took some video coverage of the event especially the speeches made by the two head honchos of Jewelmer so please watch out for it at our YouTube channel at
