A Goddess for a Day : Hestia

Wazzup Pilipinas!

Why are people addicted to myths? That’s the question almost everyone had been talking about. For me, reading Greek mythologies is so exciting. It is like being in a whole other dimension. Thinking about the supernatural capabilities of the gods and goddesses really enhances my imagination to the point that I consider myself as one of them too.

If I would be given a chance to be a goddess for a day, I would be Hestia. Most people know Hestia as the virgin goddess of the hearth, architecture, and the right ordering of domesticity, the family, and the state.

She is one of the goddesses of the first Olympian generation, along with Demeter and Hera. She was a daughter of the Titans Rhea and Cronus, and the eldest and youngest sister to Zeus, Poseidon, Demeter, Hera, and Hades. She also rejected the marriage suits of Poseidon and Apollo, and swore herself to perpetual virginity.

Hestia, among all of the Olympians, is the mildest, most upright, and most charitable. Did you know that she gave her Olympian seat to Dionysus to prevent heavenly conflict? That’s the reason why I like her the most.

Yes, she is passive, but she is also very cordial. That’s what makes her different from all the other gods and goddesses.

It would be such an amazing opportunity to be her even just for a day.

How about you? If you were given a chance to be a god or a goddess for a day, who would you be?

  2. Passive in a way that contributes to the greater good. Hestia being one of the three Virgin Goddesses, like Artemis, is kind, gentle, and caring to everyone.

  4. Hi Snyrrah :)
Are you sure you could be Hestia for a day? o__O
    Joke xD
I also like Hestia for her great kindness. But I think I can't be like her even for a day, simply because it's hard to be kind when you're not one xD.
Anyway, nice picture :) You're look very pretty :)
