Glee Fans have a lot to weep about upon the discovery of the dead body of one of its famous lead star.
Cory Monteith was found dead in his hotel room in Vancouver, Canada last Saturday, July 13. Cory Monteith plays Finn Hudson in the musical TV series Glee checked in at the Fairmount Pacific Rim Hotel last July 6 and was expected to check out on Saturday, July 13. After missing his check out time, the hotel staff went up to his room located on the 21st floor only to find his lifeless body on the floor.
No foul play was suspected and Monteith is suspected to have died of an apparent drug overdose. According to reports, Monteith had already been dead for several hours before his body was found. No confirmation yet until an autopsy is done on the body which is scheduled on Monday.
Monteith had admitted struggling with drugs last April and had already began his rehabilitation. He admitted himself to a treatment facility for substance abuse hoping to recover on his own. Co-star and real life girlfriend Lea Michelle says she was proud that Monteith decided to seek help. However, no statement regarding his death has been issued by Michelle as of this writing.
Glee’s official fanpage issued an official statement that was released earlier today in behalf of Glee executive producers, 20th Century Fox Television and Fox Broadcasting Company:
“We are deeply saddened by this tragic news. Cory was an exceptional talent and an even more exceptional person. He was a true joy to work with and we will all miss him tremendously. Our thoughts and prayers are with his family and loved ones.”
Fans will truly mourn the death of Cory Monteith and he would be definitely missed by a lot of people for bringing to life the role of Finn Hudson. We wish you peace, Cory! We will miss you!
