Ross Flores Del Rosario: The Visionary Behind Wazzup Pilipinas and the Umalohokan Workshop

Wazzup Pilipinas!?

In the ever-evolving landscape of digital media and community-driven advocacy, one name stands out as a relentless force for truth, transformation, and empowerment: Ross Flores Del Rosario. As the founder of Wazzup Pilipinas, a groundbreaking platform that has redefined Philippine online journalism, and the mastermind behind the Umalohokan Workshop, a movement dedicated to amplifying voices that matter, Del Rosario has cemented his legacy as a modern-day herald of the people. His journey is one of passion, purpose, and an unwavering commitment to storytelling that inspires, educates, and drives change.

The Birth of a Digital Powerhouse: Wazzup Pilipinas

Long before the digital sphere became saturated with influencers and content creators, Ross Flores Del Rosario was already pioneering a movement that sought to provide an alternative to mainstream media. Wazzup Pilipinas was not merely a blog—it was an idea, a vision, a revolution in how stories were told and received. With a focus on community-driven journalism, Wazzup Pilipinas gave a voice to the people, covering everything from politics and social issues to lifestyle and entertainment.

But what truly set Del Rosario apart was his unflinching commitment to credibility. While clickbait and sensationalism ran rampant, he ensured that Wazzup Pilipinas remained a bastion of integrity—a trusted source that championed responsible reporting. His work resonated with Filipinos across social classes, making him not just an observer of history but an active participant in shaping it.

The Umalohokan Workshop: A New Generation of Storytellers

Taking inspiration from the ancient Umalohokan—the town criers of pre-colonial Philippines who spread news across communities—Del Rosario launched the Umalohokan Workshop. This initiative was more than just a seminar; it was a movement designed to empower individuals to become storytellers in their own right.

Recognizing the power of grassroots journalism, Del Rosario envisioned a platform where aspiring content creators, journalists, and advocates could be trained in the art of ethical, impactful storytelling. The workshop didn’t just teach technical skills; it instilled a sense of responsibility, purpose, and courage—key values that define a true journalist.

The Umalohokan Workshop has since become a beacon for those who seek to use their voices for good. Whether it be exposing corruption, highlighting marginalized communities, or celebrating local culture, the graduates of this workshop carry forward Del Rosario’s vision of journalism as a tool for national transformation.

A Man of Integrity and Influence

Despite the challenges of modern media—where truth is often drowned by misinformation—Del Rosario remains steadfast. He has never shied away from speaking out against irregularities, be it in local governance, homeowners’ associations, or even national policies. His fearlessness has earned him both allies and adversaries, but through it all, his mission remains clear: to be a voice for those who need it most.

His influence extends beyond journalism. As the newly elected External Vice President of the Green Party of the Philippines and a Board Member of Bayanihan Para Sa Kalikasan Movement Inc., he continues to champion causes close to his heart, particularly those related to sustainability, transparency, and community-driven governance.

The Future: A Legacy in the Making

Ross Flores Del Rosario is more than just a blogger, journalist, or digital media pioneer—he is a modern-day Umalohokan, ensuring that the voices of the people are heard, their stories told, and their struggles acknowledged. As Wazzup Pilipinas grows and the Umalohokan Workshop expands its reach, Del Rosario’s impact on Philippine media and advocacy continues to evolve.

His journey is a testament to the power of authentic storytelling, the responsibility of the press, and the enduring need for truth in a world clouded by noise. For those who seek to follow in his footsteps, the message is clear: Be fearless, be truthful, and most of all, be the voice that the world needs to hear.

Beyond Rainbow Promises: Congressman Allan Reyes and Councilor Atty. Anton Reyes Champion LGBTQIA++ Rights in District 3, Quezon City

Wazzup Pilipinas??

In a political climate often marked by empty platitudes and performative allyship, Congressman Allan Reyes and Councilor Atty. Anton Reyes are cutting through the noise with a bold, unapologetic stand: equality isn't optional — it's essential.

On April 7, 2025, the Reyes tandem will step into a Facebook Live arena, not just to talk, but to listen, engage, and act. Their online event, hosted by queer icon and UP Babaylan alumna Khaki Bernardo, isn't just a sit-down chat. It’s a heartfelt declaration: the LGBTQIA++ community is seen, heard, and fiercely supported in District 3, Quezon City.

At a time when gender identity and queer rights are under the magnifying glass — and too often, under attack — this event promises more than optics. It’s a continuation of the Reyes duo’s advocacy built on four enduring pillars: education, infrastructure, jobs and businesses, and health and financial assistance. But this time, they're coloring these pillars in the vibrant shades of inclusivity.

Queer Talks That Matter

This isn't just another campaign stunt. Reyes and Reyes are diving headfirst into tough but necessary conversations: gender expression in schools, accessible healthcare for same-sex couples, workplace discrimination, and the creation of communal safe spaces. These aren’t just buzzwords — they’re battlegrounds where rights are won or lost every day.

The event will also feature a trivia game that cleverly balances levity with learning. It’s a nod to the power of joy in queer resistance — where learning becomes inclusive, and advocacy feels like home.

A Legacy of Action

Congressman Allan Reyes isn’t new to the fight. From co-introducing the SOGIE Equality Ordinance to advocating for gender-neutral bathrooms and funding LGBTQIA++ organizations, his track record is a patchwork quilt of real initiatives that have helped stitch safety and dignity into the lives of queer constituents.

Councilor Anton Reyes, younger but no less committed, has followed through by supporting pride-centered events and transforming public spaces with visual affirmations of inclusion — rainbow-colored benches and trash bins that, though simple, scream visibility in a society that still often looks away.

Together, they amplify a core promise branded as #YESnaALL — a powerful declaration that no identity will be left behind in their push for progress.

A Future Queer and Fearless

This April 7 at 8 PM, the Reyes tandem invites the public to join their live session via the YES NA YES kay Allan Reyes! Facebook page. But more than a simple invitation, it’s a call to action for a city — and a country — on the brink of defining what kind of future it wants to shape.

Will it be one of division and exclusion? Or one where every citizen, regardless of whom they love or how they identify, can walk through life proud, protected, and empowered?

With leaders like Allan and Anton Reyes, District 3 is betting on the latter.

UMALOHOKAN: A Revolutionary Movement for Voters’ Education, Truth, and Environmental Action

Wazzup Pilipinas!?

They say history repeats itself, but in the digital age, history is rewritten—often by those with the loudest voices, the most viral content, or the deepest pockets. Misinformation spreads faster than the truth. Environmental destruction accelerates while leaders look the other way. And the youth, the very ones who will inherit this nation, are too often left disillusioned, disengaged, or deceived.

But what if they fought back?

Enter UMALOHOKAN: Para sa Kaalaman, Kalikasan, at Kinabukasan—not just an event, but a movement, a battle cry, and a rallying point for those who refuse to be silenced.

This groundbreaking initiative, led by Ross Flores Del Rosario, the visionary founder of Wazzup Pilipinas and UMALOHOKAN Workshops, is a direct response to three of the most pressing crises of our time: disinformation, voter apathy, and environmental collapse.

On April 13, 2025, from 2 PM onwards at Simbayanan ni Maria Community Foundation, Taguig City, digital influencers, thought leaders, and change-makers will converge—not as mere spectators, but as warriors for truth and sustainability.

REVIVING THE HERALDS OF TRUTH

Before colonizers rewrote our history, the Umalohokan were the lifeblood of our communities—heralds of truth, messengers of critical information, the guardians of discourse. They did not peddle lies for profit; they spoke for the people.

Today, their spirit is reborn in the digital warriors of this generation: vloggers, bloggers, content creators, and social media influencers who wield their platforms not for vanity, but for veracity.

A POWERHOUSE OF EXPERTS AND ADVOCATES

UMALOHOKAN 2025 will be a battlefield of ideas, with some of the nation’s most respected voices leading the charge:

🔹 Pocholo De Leon Gonzales, The Voicemaster of Creativoices, delivering the opening remarks to energize the audience as they are about to be empowered and inspired by the succeeding speakers

🔹 Ellen Tordesillas, founder of VERA Files, exposing the anatomy of fake news and how the powerful manipulate information to stay in control.

🔹 Chino Penserga of PPCRV, unraveling the weaponization of misinformation in elections and how voters can fight back with discernment.

🔹 Atty. Ryan Jay Roser of LENTE, distinguished lawyer and tireless advocate for electoral integrity and legal empowerment.

🔹 Social media personalities like Eric Teodoro of Big Boy Eric, Jenny Medenillla of The Transport Queen, Nestor Lim of News Media Nest, on a panel discussion moderated by Adae Cano-Ang of Adae to Remember tackling topics related to the proliferating fake news on social media and how they combat against it and avoid being victims themselves

🔹 Another panel full of environmental advocates - Jayson Noveda of Ecowaste Coalition, Thony Dizon of BAN Toxics, Eric Raymundo of Bayanihan Para Sa Kalikasan Movement, Eman Balani of Gift of Nature, taking the stage to dismantle the corporate and governmental failures behind environmental destruction—and what we can do to resist. Moderated by Nic Satur Jr of Partners for Affordable and Reliable Energy (PARE)

Special Keynote by David D'Angelo of The Green Party of the Philippines

These aren’t just speeches. These are calls to arms.

THE BATTLE LINES: FIGHTING FOR TRUTH, DEMOCRACY, AND SUSTAINABILITY

🔹 VOTERS’ EDUCATION & AWARENESS

The 2025 elections could define the fate of the Philippines. The youth, the largest voting bloc, have the power—but only if they use it wisely. UMALOHOKAN will arm them with critical thinking, discernment, and the ability to separate propaganda from policy.

🔹 FIGHTING DISINFORMATION

Fake news isn’t just an inconvenience—it’s a weapon, designed to manipulate, mislead, and control. With media literacy experts and social media watchdogs, attendees will learn how to fact-check, analyze, and resist digital deception.

🔹 ENVIRONMENTAL SUSTAINABILITY

While world leaders talk, the planet burns. This isn’t just climate change—it’s climate collapse. The environmental panel will provide tangible solutions and avenues for action, because the time for debate is over.

BEYOND TALK: A CALL TO ACTION

This is not another academic seminar. This is a movement.

Through interactive workshops, networking with advocacy groups, and a commitment-signing ceremony, UMALOHOKAN ensures that attendees do not leave empty-handed—they leave as agents of change.

As Ross Flores Del Rosario, founder of WazzupPilipinas.com and the Umalohokan Workshops, puts it:

"We are at a defining moment. The youth must realize that their voices matter, their votes count, and their actions can shape a better world."

At 5:30 PM, UMALOHOKAN 2025 will conclude not with goodbyes, but with a vow—a covenant, signed by all speakers, NGOs, and participants, to carry forward the fight for truth, sustainability, and democracy.

JOIN THE MOVEMENT. CHANGE THE NARRATIVE.

This is your moment. If you believe in truth over lies, action over apathy, and a future worth fighting for, then UMALOHOKAN is your battlefield.
