Visit Davao Fun Sale and a Lot More Reasons to Visit Davao This 2015

Wazzup Pilipinas!

It's more fun in the Philippines! All 7,107 islands should be explored!

As much as we desire to discover new places beyond our country, we should prioritize touring our own Philippines. You would be surprised that there are a lot of scenic and culturally-rich areas you've never been to. Our country is teeming with spectacular natural resources that it is baffling why we are still trying to catch up with the rest of the world.

Another great place to visit is Davao. I've been there for so many times in the past since I was a former ICT Officer of a United Nations organization in the Philippines and we had an office in Davao. I was in charge of ICT or Information and Communications Technology so I was very much in demand during the first few months since we were still setting up our ICT infrastructure.

However, the last time I was there was way back 2008 when I left the organization and setup my own business. It would be fun to be back in Davao soon as I know there must be a lot of changes or development already.

Recently, the Davao Tourism force led by Miss Eden Josephine Larano-David, Chief Tourism Operations Officer of DOT Davao, held a media event to announce their Visit Philippines 2015 travel recommendations and upcoming events specifically the Visit Davao Fun Sale which will be held on April 3 to May 15, 2014. This is a much-awaited city-wide tourism campaign to promote Davao this Holy Week and Summer. It is an offshoot of this year's The Big Davao Fun Sale which is a shopping sale program.

This time, the Visit Davao Fun Sale for 2015 will encompass the participation of key tourism players under the wing of their respective organizations namely travel and tours, hotels and resorts, restaurants and entertainment groups, malls and shopping centers, M.I.C.E. Organizers Ventures Davao (MOVE DVO), Davao Wellness Association, and Property Development Companies.

Ms. Gene Rose Tecson conducted a presentation promoting the Visit Samal Island campaign.

Providing entertainment taht night is human beatboxer Mr. Neil Rey Llanes Garcia, and the It's More Fun dancers. Many raffle prizes were given away including the grand prize of a 3-days / 2 nights travel package complete from airfare, to hotel accommodation, and tour from highlands to islands.

Some of the exciting events in Davao include the Tubao (Tubong Davao) opening ceremony and food fest tentatively on April 10-12, 2015 where Davao cuisine will be featured.

Durian Jam (concert of Davao-born artists) will be on April 25, 2015 featuring mainstream artists who hails from Davao.

Street parties and electronic dance event along major clusters and streets of Davao on May 16, 2015 (the culminating event).

The Tourism Sale program is a collaboration of the City Government of Davao - Tourism Office, Department of Tourism and the Tourism stakeholders of the city.
