Myk Perez Launches His Debut Album Entitled "My Acoustic"

Wazzup Pilipinas!

Myk Perez may have not won in the Voice of the Philippines but MCA Music, the number one music company in the Philippines, has chosen him to become one of the most promising ones to become one of their recording artists. An excellent songwriter as well as a fabulous acoustic singer, he is sure to make a name among the celebrities.

He now has an album called My Acoustic that was launched last March 13, 2014 at the Nation Bar and Grill in Quezon City.

Myk's talent is simply too hard to pass as he sings his beautiful brand of acoustic songs. I was surely taken aback as he sang three songs to the members of the media during the album launch. With a guitar as his instrument and DJ Buddah at his side, he struck his audience with soothing acoustic songs made enchanting by his remarkable voice.

MCA Music has included the original composition of Myk Perez entitled "Honey Under The Moon" in his album so I'm sure this will be among the first ones you would want to hear.

My Acoustic features the carrier single "Runaway", originally by The Corrs, as well as other covers like "Easy" by Lionel Richie, "Why" by Avril Lavigne, and "Clarity" by John Mayer.

It also includes recorded performances of his performances from the Voice of the Philippines like teh original song "Fix You", "Chasing Pavements", "Give Me Love", and "Baby I Love Your Way."

For Myk's fans, they will surely enjoy the bonus track of the album - the unplugged versions of "Fix You."

During the interview, Myk shared with us that he plans to join the Elements Music Camp in its next season so he could learn more about songwriting. It was only recently, actually a day before his album launch, that I attended a presscon organized by the Elements Music Camp where we were introduced to some of the camp mentors and were shown videos presenting some of the campers. They are actually in the process of releasing an album where proceeds will go to the survivors of Typhoon Yolanda.

Myk can use his talent to provide additional input to the group of campers while nurturing his own expertise. I am sure he will learn a lot from the camp to strengthen his skill in songwriting.

Myk also revealed that he probably got his talent from his beloved mother who passed away years ago. His mother was also into the arts as a folk singer. It is too bad that her mother died from cancer.

It was also this reason that Myk confessed that he did not finished his college studies. He plans to continue pursuing a career someday but I guess, like anybody who had the opportunity to fame and glory,  he is a little preoccupied trying to save up for the future. Maybe when he gets more breaks to level up his music career, he will soon have the luxury of time to spend some of it to complete his studies.

Myk Perez being interviewed by members of the press including the top three TV networks

Myk is a tall guy with medium built but with a soft subtle voice and a pleasing aura that radiates outward towards the people he meets.  His personality exudes humility but with enough confidence that you'll easily  feel comfortable talking with him. we interviewed him as a panel but he was able to answer all our questions straight from the heart. You will know when one is making up stories to make his life more interesting, and Myk is simple just too humble to elevate himself to stardom at this stage in his life. Eventhough he has already made a name for himself, and is already widely recognized by fans of the Voice of the Philippines, the arrogance does not show at all.

He seems very polite, and keeps to himself because when he arrived, he proceeded to sit alone at the farther end of the venue after greeting the early birds which included me as always. He only stood up from there when it was time for him to perform.

I do hope he remains humble inspite of his success, but also hoping he gets all the self-confidence to show the whole world that the Pinoy has a lot of world-class talent to flaunt.
