Visita Iglesia : A Well Spent SUMMER! Not Just About Swimming!

Wazzup Pilipinas!

Summer is fun, isn’t it? But it will be more interesting if we spent it productively, right?

Well, I started my summer by attending the debut of the daughter of my aunt’s bestfriend. And I am telling you, it’s not a waste of time! Why? It is because you can meet someone and be friends with them. It’s really an unforgettable occasion.

What is summer without swimming, right? We didn’t spend a huge amount of money because we just hang-out at the club-house that was actually inside our village. For me, it was a tiring day yet it is something to be remembered.

The COCC Summer Program and a Summer-ful of Great Experience

Wazzup Pilipinas!

I remember waking up on my bed and I peeked in my phone to check the time. The screen displayed 11:17 am. I threw my hands in the air and screamed" YES! It's the start of summer vacation!" Of course, I only screamed inside my head. Anyway. I was very happy because I just can feel the feeling that all the 'stress' just drain away in my body. I was not force to wake up 5 o'clock in the morning for school! Hell no! It's summer vacation already! My mind was set to wake up only in early afternoon for the rest of the summer. I just got excited because I can relax and totally enjoy the summer.

But there's one big thing that bothers me that morning. It's because it's 5 days away before the classes will resume again.

Spending Time with Family Is the Most Meaningful

Wazzup Pilipinas!

For me, summer vacation doesn’t means that you need an expensive vacation like going to the beach, hanging out with your friends in the mall, travelling outside our country, or etc.

For me vacation is the only moment where you can spend your precious time with your family in 2 months. Because I think the 10 months of spending your time in your school is also like spending your time with your friends especially when you’re out doing some projects and in that way, you and your friends somehow bond together that’s why it’s enough for me to spend my 2 months vacation with my family together with my UPCAT review.

I also admit that summer vacation is the one that I have been waiting for this year.

Boracay : Absorb the Heat and Feel the Ocean

Wazzup Pilipinas!

Summer came quick! We got our clothes pack and went on our way to an adventure! Almost all of the people anticipated summer - especially me.

There are two ways of spending summer - its either doing nothing and bore yourself or enjoy it to the fullest just like I did. I should be starting now so let me share my summer vacation.

It’s April 2013, everybody was packing, getting ready for the first ride on an airplane. Some of us are not cognizant what to do inside the airplane. Good thing there were flight attendants to assist and guide us. At first, I thought that riding an airplane will took so long just to know that we have already arrived at Kalibo in just a short time. After that, we rode on a bus for about 4 hours. Isn’t it a sleepy trip? Then we rode on a boat crossing the sea going to Boracay. The last ride was by a van that took us to the resort we rented. First day on Boracay, we got exhausted so we decided to take our dinner and slept.

Xtreme Magic Sing : Extreme Birit for an Extreme Deal

Wazzup Pilipinas!

Hey, who doesn't love singing? Fellow blogger Rodel can attest to the fact that it gives us extreme joy to be able to confidently impress even ourselves as we hear our much-improved singing voice thru the amazing power of the Xtreme Magic Sing brand.

Even if we're not really good belting out like the pros and celebrity "birits", I am betting my entire fortune that each and everyone of us would like to sing our hearts out even just one of the latest tunes that we hear in the radio, or from what we see in the television. If we don't really know the entire lyrics, I'm sure we are familiar with just the chorus, or we hum out the song unknowingly.

It's a fact that many Filipinos consider singing as one of the national past times here in the Philippines. The videoke or karaoke became popular in the country because we really enjoy hearing our voices, and we don't really care if the neighbors curses us for playing the speakers out loud for everyone to hear.

My Semi-Aquatic Summer

Wazzup Pilipinas!

Whenever summer comes, people feel very happy. They feel motivated, enlightened, and even excited. Maybe this is the time they will relax and have fun, especially for students, like me. Aside from having an end of school year, they will be excited for whatever vacation they would plan. Others would go to their provinces and meet their relatives. Some would attend summer classes for advance lessons in order to be prepared for their next school year. It depends to their taste on how they would make their summer satisfying. But among this outdoor trips or activities, having a swimming vacation is the most popular. I’m to share to you my experiences last summer. It will not be like a vacation but it will be more of training.

National Shrine of the Divine Mercy in Marilao, Bulacan : My Great Summer Break

Wazzup Pilipinas!

Summer Vacation is one of the most awaited event in a student’s life. Many were excited when they reached the month of March because this month is usually the last month of their studies for their school year.

Summer Vacation for students means going to the places where we haven’t been. It is a nice experience when we try new experiences together with our family and friends and this vacation I spent most of it together with my family

My vacation became exciting because of so many things. I spent the first week of my vacation by just watching television, playing computer but helping my parents doing the household chores and giving time to rest and unwind.

Revelatory Vacation at Home

Wazzup Pilipinas!

What is summer? It is a season where every one gets a vacation and travels away from home. But for me, it is a "two-months" rest at home, recovering from the intense drama of the last days of school and the time of requitals of parents who wants to bother their child by doing tons of household chores and unnecessary tasks. What did I do last summer?

During summer, I forced myself to become productive. On April 1, it is when we were allowed to acquire our report cards and enrollment forms. On that same day, it is also the birthday of our friend, Isabelle. I felt happiness and at the same time, I was crazy. I was able to ride the actual back ride and I consider it as the silliest thing I had ever done. Few days later, we welcomed by our adviser in her home and I went home afterwards while my classmates went to see the renovated Rainforest Park.

Baguio City : Fun and Horror in the City of Pines

Wazzup Pilipinas!

A city situated on top of vast and glorious mountain constantly kissed by the clouds, Baguio City is known for its cool climate and picturesque sceneries. Baguio is certainly one of the greatest places to escape the summer heat of Manila. It is a very relieving and relaxing escape from the intense tropical weather in the Philippines.

People herd the streets of Baguio City and its famous tourist attractions. Contrary to the beliefs of most people, Baguio City can offer more than a horseback ride or a rowing trip on Burnham Lake.

However, not many people see Baguio in the same light because it has been stereotyped by advertisements which really are unaware of the city’s true majesty.

A Summer Well Spent: Swimming, Music, Friends, and Whatnot

Wazzup Pilipinas!

Last summer, I gained a valuable skill. But not just any kind of skill, instead, a life saving one.

After years of not knowing how to swim, I finally agreed with my parents' idea of me attending swimming lessons with my older sister. At first, to lessen my fear of drowning, I asked the other students about their experiences. Most of them told me that it wasn't that bad and that it was actually really fun.

The coaches taught me the basics, then after a few days, they made me jump off the diving board into the part of the pool which was 15-feet deep. I felt my heart beating faster and faster, but I decided to jump and test my luck. Haha! After jumping, I realized that it wasn't that scary and that it was all in my head.

Sky Fun in Tagaytay, Lingayen Beach and Manaoag Church in Pangasinan : Hot Summer Days

Wazzup Pilipinas!

What I did on my summer vacation? How I spent my summer?

Well, Last late summer vacation, we went to Tagaytay with my mom and my aunties as the blow out of one of my tita because she was celebrated her birthday.

First, we went to Picnic Groove to have pictures with snake and crocodile and also to roam around. We rode horses but one of my tita was scared of riding a horse so she can’t join with us, and last before going home at Pasig we went to “Sky Fun Amusement Park” to ride in the tallest Ferris wheel in the country at 63 meters.

I saw beautiful view of Taal Volcano. I can’t forget this place because of the beautiful view and nature.

UPCAT, Matched Trilogy and Korean Dramas : Summer Spent Productively

Wazzup Pilipinas!

It was the first of April when my summer vacation officially started. We had our farewell party that day with my third year classmates, III-Bohr. I can still remember everyone wearing their smiles that day despite the fact that we’re about to separate.

We held the party at Pasig Millenium Garden. Everyone was there enjoying our last moments as III-Bohr.

After that day, I really didn’t do a lot. I stayed in front of the computer screen doing nothing but reading blogs and waiting for EXO comeback (EXO- kpop group).

People may find it boring, especially reading blogs, but for me it was fun. I read blogs about UPCAT and it gave me tips in preparing for the coming exam.

Draw The Line : Summer Camp 2013 Brings Out The New Me

Wazzup Pilipinas!

Last May 7-10, 2013, a Youth camp was held in Morong, Rizal. It is a camp which teaches teenagers of different ages spiritual values and the word of God. Cainta United Methodist Church held this yearly activity to inspire youths to change for the better. Each year, they come up with their own theme and this year's theme, was TRANSFORMATION.

A lot of Youth campers - or as what we call delegates - were transformed including me. I learned a lot during our four days stay in that camp. We had invited speakers and pastors from different churches to share to us their life testimonies on how God acted in their lives. They inspired us youths so much that some of us even testified our own life changing experiences with Christ. We spent most of our time devoting our lives to God not just by means of hearing and sharing life testimonies. Our youth leaders had set fun and challenging activities which encouraged us to overcome obstacles and taught us lessons that can be applied in our Christian lives.

Swimming: Summer; Studying: Summer Too?

Wazzup Pilipinas!

Inappropriate for summer isn’t it? Summer is defined as the hottest period of the year. People tend to stop doing something due to the heat of the sun. In fact in that season students are enjoying their vacation and workers are using their leave to relax and bond with their family and friends. They used to go either on the beach or pool and experience the splash of water. However my past summer is somehow disordered with its usual way, Here goes my experience…

During the midst of hot season I am to be relaxing the whole time. However, on my summer vacation I am obliged to study and review for the upcoming college entrance test which I need to be passed for me to have a good beginning on the collegiate level. I never wondered how my summer goes by doing such things as busy as school works. I forced myself to be piquant in spending my time in plausible things that will help me from the future activities since summer time is the only available for me to spend on.
