Wazzup Pilipinas!
Extending a helping hand to the victims of the October 15 earthquake that devastated Bohol and Cebu, the Epson companies in the Philippines – represented by Epson Precision (Philippines) Inc. President Kazuyuki Amano – handed over a check amounting to PhP1 million last October 21 to the Philippine Business for Social Progress (PBSP) to support relief operations in Bohol.
On the ground, Epson employees - headed by Environment Manager Joyce Tan - went to Bohol last October 23 and worked with the PBSP Visayas team, and Holy Name University teachers and student volunteers to do the actual repacking of relief goods.
The team distributed about 1,500 ‘sphere packs’ that contained 8kg rice, half kilo of monggo (mung beans), 4 cans of sardines, half kilo of dried fish, 350ml cooking oil, 6L water, 1 kilo of sugar, 1 kilo of salt, 1 pail, and 1 detergent bar to the families affected by the earthquake.
