The Philippines : 2013 Champion of Pyronale Fireworks Competition

The Philippines was the grand winner of World Pyronale Fireworks Competition 2013 held in Berlin.

Team Dragon Fireworks, won two Awards: the Audience Choice Award and the Gold Trophy as the 2013 Grand Champion. Spain (
Pirotecnia Zaragozana) got the Silver, and Finland (JoHo Pyro) got the Bronze.
Here are the winners of Pyronale 2013:

Every year teams from all over the world create various fireworks with breathtaking effects in order to win the pyronale trophy and the public's favor.

A jury consisting of experts and celebrities decides who becomes champion of the Pyronale. The winning team receives a trophy created by designer Jette Joop. Other awards were handed over to the second and third placed team. On both evenings the audience is allowed to vote for its favourite firework.

CI recently released the “Reef Fishes Of The East Indiesapp, a digital guide to every known reef fish species in your region, the most biodiverse area on the planet.

Key points are:

Designed for iPad and Kindle Fire, REEF FISHES OF THE EAST INDIES doesn’t “stream” content, so you can be used out at sea, with no internet connection required.

This is the perfect digital guide for divers and nature lovers to use in the office, school, home or out on the open sea.

The app includes over 2,500 reef fishes of which 25 species are new to science. It summarises 60 years of research and exploration and brings greater understanding and valuation of the immense biodiversity of reef fish in the East Indies.
 

Ten Accomplished Youth Organizations (TAYO) for 2013

We congratulate the twenty (20) youth organizations representing NCR, Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao who will face off at the finals week of the 11th Search for the Ten Accomplished Youth Organizations (TAYO).

The TAYO Awards Foundation, Inc. has successfully established itself as the country’s only award giving body that recognizes and supports the outstanding contributions of youth organizations to the country.
To date more than a thousand youth organizations have joined the search and are now part of the growing youth network of the foundation. These exceptional youth organizations have contributed to the development of their local communities, schools and work place, through their innovative and valuable projects.

The entries will be judged based on the following criteria: Impact of project entry on stakeholders; Harnessing the spirit of volunteerism and citizenship; Creativity and Innovation; and Sustainability and Effective use of Resources. Apart from the prestigious recognition, the winning organizations receive an especially commissioned trophy sculpted by Mr. Toym De Leon Imao, and a grant of Php 50,000.00 intended to fund new projects or continue their long term programs.

The TAYO Awards Foundation, Inc., The National Youth Commission, and the Office of Senator Kiko Pangilinan organize the annual search.
