ADB Youth Dialogue: "Girl Rising" Movie Screening

Wazzup Pilipinas!

In support of the UN International Day of the Girl Child (11 October), ADB partnered with Plan International Philippines, Intel Philippines, and WEF Global Shapers Manila Hub in hosting the “ADB Youth Dialogue: Girl Rising Screening.”

Directed by Academy Award nominee Richard Robbins, Girl Rising "spotlights the strength of the human spirit and the power of education to change a girl -- and the world." This film tells the stories of 9 extraordinary girls from 9 countries, written by 9 celebrated writers and narrated by renowned actresses such as Anne Hathaway, Cate Blanchett, and Meryl Streep.

Organized regularly, ADB Youth Dialogues strengthen youth participation in policy discourse and enhance partnerships between ADB, civil society organizations (CSO’s), and youth-led CSO’s as important stakeholders of Asia’s continuing development.

Tears For Fears Music Night at Route 196

Wazzup Pilipinas!

Everybody Wants to Rule the World! Who doesn't?

I guess that is why we love singing that song because it has a deeper interpretation aside from the catchy tune and the meaningful lyrics. Who doesn't know the singers behind that iconic song? Unless you were just born today, you've probably heard one of their famous songs already, and you have to admit that you would get the LSS (Last Song Syndrome) after hearing any of their songs, especially the chorus part.

The Tears for Fears are an English New Wave band formed in 1981 by Roland Orzabal and Curt Smith. Their music has caught the attention of this Mad World and has continued (and will continue) to play their music for everyone's enjoyment.

I grew up with their music, and their MTVs, and I have to say that I appreciate their music very much!

Wazzup Pilipinas is happy to announce that we are a proud online media partner of the Generic Mamaw Presents Tears For Fears event happening this October 30 at Route 196. The Tears for Fears party starts at 10 pm until 2 am the following morning!!!!
