Gamers have special requirements when it comes to their choice of computers or PCs, may it be desktops or laptops, thus they seek the best hardware specifications having the most reasonable prices to build their ultimate gaming gear.

For those in the search for their dream PCs, Lenovo recently held a two-day gaming event on January 28 and 29, 2017 at the Cyberzone area of SM City North EDSA Annex where attendees had the opportunity to try out the all-new line up of PCs that Lenovo calls collectively as "Legion."

Laptops such as the Lenovo Legion Y520, the Ideapad Y910, and desktops like the IdeaCentre Y710 Cube were available for anyone who wanted to experience the Legion by Lenovo gaming experience.

Appropriate enough, they chose the highly popular and challenging League of Legends online game which is a favorite in the gaming community. You'll see many gamers, especially the hard-core ones, flocking Internet Cafes or Gaming Shops that aer still proliferating the metro even though there are already many powerful laptops and Internet connections that are available at home.

For gamers, the fun is actually more on personally bonding with friends while they battle it out for supremacy among themselves. Since League of Legends is a team effort game, you can see how groups of five support each other to make up for their weaknesses and take advantage of their strengths.

Lenovo tapped the gaming communities as the event was participated by actual gamers, while enthusiasts and passersby in the mall also had the chance to try to compete among each other too. To reward the winning team, Lenovo gave away prizes such as jackets, backpacks and shirts.

Since it was also Chinese New Year, the event started off with a colorful dragon and lion dance so as to bless the occasion and bring it good luck. Greeting you at the event were a few cosplayers that are most probably game characters, and models that could assist you in using the gaming PCs. You can also have some photo or video selfies or ops with them.

The first day had a bloggers competing against members of the gaming community, while the second day had celebrities composed of Kristoffer Martin, Jack Reid, Ashley Gosiengfiao, Alex Diaz, and Jerome Ponce competing against participants who registered for the day. Radio DJs, Nikko Ramos and Joyce Pring hosted Day 1 and Day two respectively.

The second day also had 12 teams from participating schools who all competed with each other to finally arrive at the winning team.

Game Better with Lenovo Legion

The Lenovo Legion Y520 is an entry-level gaming laptop that runs on the latest 7th generation Kaby Lake processors from Intel, and thanks to its budget powerhouse NVIDIA GTX 1050/1050Ti graphics card, games can be displayed in crisp 1080p or 1440p quality.

Audiophiles shouldn’t have a problem as sound is equipped with Dolby Premium technology projected through Harman-certified speakers.
Interestingly, the Y520 has a Nerve Sense feature, which you won’t find in any kind of laptop. It’s a function that allows one to easily customize various settings with less effort.

Through the Nerve Sense, one can adjust the keyboard lighting, disable the touchpad and other unnecessary keys for playing, and control the sound settings. The Nerve Sense also has an Extreme Cooling feature which allows one to adjust cooling systems with just a few clicks.

For streamers, the Nerve Sense can also conduct livestream gaming sessions which can be integrated into their social media accounts or record their gameplay and upload them at another time.

Also debuting at the gaming convention is the virtual-reality ready Ideapad Y910. It is built with a 6th generation Intel Core i7 K processor, and is especially equipped with a One Key Turbo that can instantly boost CPU performance with just one click for an uninterrupted gaming experience. Graphics of the Ideapad Y910 will be provided by the NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1080M GPU which can reach 4K resolution display.

Another VR-ready machine is the IdeaCentre Y710 Cube that has a 6th generation Intel Core i7 K processor and memory of up to 16GB of DDR4, more than enough to handle games while streaming them at the same time, or even opening multiple applications at once while editing your videos and photos. Additionally, its NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1080 GPU also allows for 4k resolution gaming.

Combining a sharp design with decent portability and 4K/VR-ready performance, the IdeaCentre Y710 Cube is small, yet mighty. The case is decked in various shades of matte grey plastic, and a three-pronged front edge with lines that glow through external LED lights.

Exceptionally, it has a built-in carrying handle, so you can lug it anywhere you like. You can bring it between gaming stations, to your room, or a friend’s house for an all-night multiplayer gaming. The Cube weighs only 7.4 kilograms, and has a tower that’s approximately the size of a standard laptop at 15.48 inches long.
