Alodia Gosiengfiao Talks About Responsible Gaming

Wazzup Pilipinas!

Alodia Gosiengfiao posted online something worth reading and reflecting to. The shout out was an update to accompany her Facebook profile photo. She talks about gaming and casually defends it against issues of addiction and interfering with studies. For me, gaming is not bad as long as you know how to control yourself. Know your limitations to avoid getting negatively hooked.

Some gamers have become arrogant and have big bad manners. It's great that someone like Alodia Gosiengfiao does these kind of shout outs to remind some players to keep chill in the gaming world. In this times, some students are staying at gaming shops rather than attend their classes. Hoping some of those gamers that follow her at social networking sites get this message.

"Most cases of "video game addiction" which has been popularly used to demonize gaming mostly involve people who already have deep personal underlying issues. It just so happened that their escape was video games. If they didn't do video games, they'd be abusing some other form of escape.

Of course, because it's a complicated issue, most people don't even try to educate themselves on it which is a real shame. Sure, video games have the tendency to really hook you and you lose hours into it. But if you're already a responsible person to begin with, you can always manage it and not let it be something detrimental to your personal life."

Below is Philippines' Cosplay Queen Alodia Gosiengfiao's shout out:

"Hello guys! Let’s talk about gaming… Responsible gaming to be exact. I’ve been a cosplayer for the past 12 years but what lead me to it was my passion for gaming. If I wasn't wearing costumes, I would have been involved in the gaming industry earlier. Ever since my sister Ashley Gosiengfiao and I played Final Fantasy Tactics, I’ve always dreamed of being part of the gaming industry some day. That aside, I am just so happy to see how the industry bloomed over the years.

Ok, as you know, the gaming industry is experiencing exponential growth and is gaining a lot of attention over the past few years. It has also gained so much support around the world through international competitions and live streams. But still, I believe we could work on showing our friends, family, and others how gaming can still be a positive thing. Like everything else, anything in excess can be harmful. Same thing goes with gaming. It’s just a matter of how you balance your responsibilities, relationships and hobbies. If you are still in school, do finish your studies first before playing. The same goes with work, chores and family responsibilities.

Games take us to amazing places and introduces us to epic realms and characters, but they should never replace our real lives. With that in mind, just enjoy and don’t forget, game responsibly! /peace"

The Gaming Ambassadress has spoken. The great thing about Alodia Gosiengfiao is that she always look back to the past and shares her learning experience to others. This is one of the many reasons, aside from her cuteness overload, why we love her so much.

True enough, we should always remember to balance our life. It is without any doubt that gaming entertains, and as what most gamers would say, highly educational and improves your motor skills as well.

There is too much pressure in the real world that some people find peace in the virtual world. But gaming is not just a means of escaping reality. It is more than just a stress reliever, better than just a leisure or hobby. It also connects us and improves our cognitive functions. It's a way of life that should be taken in moderation just like any other task. However, gaming is a passion that should be handled with utmost caution.

"Bad thing about gaming today is the huge amount of payouts of DLC and instant access. Also those wait to proceed or pay to instantly finish a progress in the game like coc. Way back I just pay 20 dollars to get a full game. These days you pay $60 to get a 1/4 game content unlock and buy DLCs that is already inside the disc."

You also have to admit that the addiction begins when you start getting tempted to buy upgrades or enhancement to your character or campaign. As with all things, there must be balance. By all means, play your games but never forget your priorities.
