OPM's Mission: EO 255 Ran Away With a Successful Awareness Campaign

Wazzup Pilipinas!

I was already  at the Greenhills Shopping Center ground early Sunday morning for a run to support Filipino music. I was invited by a friend to run a 5k distance. After a year without run, I'm now going back to the track. I don't think I will be able to finish the race like before when I was still a fit and well trained.

Run for Executive Order 255, a run to support the EO executed way back former President Corazon Aquino's term that states that radio stations must play at least four OPM song's every hour. The fun run was supported by friends from different organizations, also the officers of the OPM (Organisasyon ng mga Pilipinong Mang-aawit) like Gary V. , Christian Bautista, Ogie Alcasid, Mitch Valdez, Jose Mari Chan, Julie Ann San Jose and Noel Cabangon.

It was a jam-packed fun run with numerous participants joining the advocacy run. They woke up so early to join and participate in this event. We all know that waking up early is not so easy especially for these very busy celebrities, especially for those who also came from far locations. Two thumbs up for all of you.

After the gun start, all runner's were excited to run. The guy on the yellow shirt below, namely Mr. Victor Cruz of Philippine Barefoot Runners, is aiming for a good time and for a podium finish.

There was also a group of cheerers singing and dancing OPM songs to hype the runners and boost their strength so they would be able to push their limit until they reach the finish line.

Mr. Pure Energy Gary V. also enjoyed his 5k run. He was recording his run with his sport's cam.

After the race, everyone can get their free energy drink from the booth of Circle K Convenient Store.

Mr. Pure Energy also entertained the crowd with his popular sing and dance steps.

Gary V sang and danced with fans to witness an electrifying performance we truly enjoyed at EO255 fun run.

Here's hoping for a part 2 this year or next year. Congratulations to all finishers and podium winners. I still was able to finish the race after a year without training or run. Also, eventhough I didn't have sleep before the run and have a twisted ankle for a week but still happy about the race and the performance of the OPM icons.

Please don't stop making beautiful OPM songs. We are always here to support and listen to your songs.
