Epson Partners with NAPOCOR, MMWPC; Plants 4,000 Trees

For its annual tree planting and nurturing activity this year, Epson Precision (Philippines), Inc. (EPPI), worked with the National Power Corporation (NPC) and the Malaraya-Malepunyo Watershed Protection Council (MMWPC) and planted about 4,000 seedlings at Mt. Malaraya-Malepunyo (Biak-na-Bundok) in Brgy. Talisay, Lipa City, Batangas last August 3.

EPPI President Kazuyuki Amano led the event, with over 190 volunteers from EPPI.

This year, EPPI was able to cover two hectares of land, planting about 4,000 seedlings of various trees that are indigenous to the Philippines, including Narra, Kupang, Tibig, Toog, and Taluto. Every Epson volunteer was asked to plant a minimum of 20 seedlings. The company expects a survival rate higher than the 88% result from last year’s tree-planting activity.

The 4,000 seedlings planted this year was a 60% increase from the number of seedlings Epson planted last year. “This only shows our devotion to planting and nurturing trees in maintaining a pollution-free environment. Aside from the increase in number of seedlings, the sincere commitment from everyone in the organization – from our President to our staff – is the true indication of how being environment-friendly is entrenched in our corporate consciousness,” said Joyce Tan, EPPI’s Environment Manager.

Globally, Epson is known for its energy-saving, compact, and high-precision technologies that form the base of its products. This product design philosophy reduces Epson’s environmental impact across all areas of operations, from manufacturing to transportation of products, and after-sales services.

  1. Helping Mother Nature is truly a wonderful thing. We owe our lives to Her since She is the one who provides us with almost everything we need to survive this planet. Planting trees is a small thing we could do to thank her. Its nice for Epson to have had this event. I do hope other groups do this as well and I hope to participate in events similar to this one.

  2. It’s really good to know that some organizations still manage to serve for our nature. It’s really important that we should think about and help our nature which is also called as our Mother Earth. Our nature helps us in many ways and I believe that we must return this favor. Planting trees may be a simple thing to do in exchange of what our nature doing for us but I’m sure that it would make a great help in the future. These 4,000 trees will never be enough to give thanks to our nature. I’m encouraging my fellow countrymen to join this kind of event because this simple thing would really make a big difference in the future.
