5 Ways To Have A Stress Free And Joyful Christmas

Wazzup Pilipinas!?

Are you excited about Christmas? Is that even a question? It is the favorite holiday season of most people. But some people may feel overwhelmed with the profusion of it. Especially if you are an adult, many people are counting on you. For them, you are Santa Claus. Expectations, pressure, and money issues at this time can affect your health a lot. The tension can cause stress, anxiety, and depression; it can also cause panic attacks. If you leave these issues unaddressed, they can cause crucial damage to your health like heart attacks, diabetes, high blood pressure, and obesity. We have jotted down a few easy ways to relieve your stress and enjoy your Christmas.

Spend wisely

Financial problems are the top reasons for stress during the holiday season. Gifts for your loved ones, parties, entertainment, food, and travel, burn your pocket fast; we all fall prey to Christmas shopping. No, we are not suggesting that you should stop shopping. But you have to be careful about how much you can afford. Set a budget for all of your expenses. Pay your regular bills like rent, electricity bills, water bills, EMIs first. You can make a list and color code them according to a priority basis.

No one wants to fall short on their regular payments. Then plan your Christmas week with the budget you have left. Include all the possible scenarios. Like if you are likely to throw a party, set a budget for that. Spend less time in shopping places and shopping websites. You can carry cash and leave your credit and debit cards at home to avoid overspending. Make a checklist and keep track of the money from the budget you have left. If you are going through a financially difficult time, ask for help from your family and friends to celebrate Christmas. You do not have to do it alone. Remember, gifts are not the only essential thing about Christmas. Avoid using drugs, alcohol, or smoking to reduce stress. They are not helpful at all. Getting SUD (Substance use disorder) is not going to make your Christmas beautiful.

Be realistic:

You may plan a “perfect” Christmas, but you have to keep in mind that no event ever went on as planned. There are always tiny mishaps taking place here and there. And that is what makes it memorable. Yes, we feel bad about it at that moment, but later on, it becomes a great memory to talk about in a gathering. Spilled contaminants on your party dress, a little too much-roasted turkey, or sour lemonade, or a dissymmetric tree cannot ruin your Christmas if you do not let it. So, take a breather and enjoy it. And that goes for the kids in the house too. Let them know they cannot get everything on their list. Make sure they know what acceptable and obtainable gift items are. Christmas is not about luxury and expensive gifts; always keep that in mind.

Steer clear of overindulging:

Christmas is the time when we get to enjoy the tastiest foods in the world. From cakes, cookies, turkey, steak to pumpkin-spiced latte and eggnog. Well, it is too delicious to say no. But keep in mind that we do not want to put on unhealthy weight. Building up unhealthy weight over the years can cause health issues like obesity. So, try to maintain a healthy regular diet. Do not skip meals. Eat high-protein foods and shakes, probiotics like yogurt, and healthy smoothies. We do not want you to miss the seasonal treats, enjoy them. Just try to control the portion.

Overindulging one day would not cause much problem. You can have a cheat day. But get back on track ASAP. Try to be active; do some exercises. It will help you avoid unhealthy weight gain and also help you deal with stress. You do not have to go to a gym; you can do a few light stretches or do yoga at home. It will keep your mind clear and get quality sleep at night. You will feel more energetic and productive the next day.

CBD can also help:

CBD or cannabidiol is a plant chemical with various therapeutic benefits. People all over the world are in love with its effects. It is non-psychoactive and has analgesic and anti-inflammatory properties. It helps to reduce stress, alleviate anxiety and depression; it calms your brain and stretches your muscles. It is also helpful in dealing with other stress-related disorders like post-traumatic stress disorder or PTSD, obsessive-compulsive disorder or OCD, social anxiety disorder or SUD, etc. If you think a little help will help you enjoy your Christmas better, take CBD. There are several different CBD products available in the market. Like, CBD gummies, oils, tinctures, and capsules. You can check Sunday Scaries CBD.

Be positive. You are strong enough to beat the holiday stress. If you run low on budget, you can always think of heartfelt inexpensive gifts. Like, breakfast in bed or a handmade Christmas card. The people who love you want to see you happy. So, do not overthink or stress about it. Have fun, work together, and stay healthy. And remember, laughter beats stress anytime, any day.

Learn to say “no”

A lot of people globally struggle to say “no,” especially introverts. Saying no is not a bad thing; it does not make you weak. If you want to throw a party and only want your family and close friends to attend, only invite them. Hosting a big party can be stressful. Ask for help from friends and family. You do not have to arrange everything alone. Working together will help strengthen your bond. You will also feel less stressed about preparation. If one person is cooking for everyone, that will take them the whole day. No one has to spend their Christmas in the kitchen. With everyone’s help, you can cook a delicious meal for everybody quickly. Taking more responsibilities than you can handle is not fun, and it can make you feel stressed or anxious. Be calm and make your decisions wisely.

The Philippines Is Every Digital Nomad’s Dream Workplace

Wazzup Pilipinas!?

The Philippines offer an opportunity to enjoy beautiful beaches, friendly locals, and fascinating natural surroundings. This country welcomes both travelers on a modest budget and those who want a luxurious vacation. What’s more, it is one of the key destinations for digital nomads.

What makes the Philippines so special and why working and traveling is so attractive in this country? Let’s find it out.

The Philippines Is a Dream Workplace for Every Digital Nomad’s

Today, digital nomads are freelancers whose lives are not tied to the office, so they can work remotely and move from one place to another. Among the main advantages of nomadic life is freedom of time management and destination choice. The pandemic has made many adjustments to their lifestyle, but this does not stop the nomads. They usually take care of their health using the right medical insurance plans and when choosing a destination, they are free to prefer a country with simpler conditions for travelers. The Philippines can be considered one of such options, and here is why.

Why Should Digital Nomads Consider the Philippines?

The Philippines attracts the attention of the digital nomads because there are no crowds of tourists here. The matter is that the Philippines has not yet had such a tourist boom, but there is a high probability that all this will change in a few years. Therefore, now, digital nomads can get a lot of advantages, until the Philippines becomes a gathering point for tourists from all over the world.

The Philippines is happy to welcome everyone, and the local people are very friendly. As for accommodation prices, they can be surprising. Even if you choose the capital, the prices will be so reasonable that you can stay in this country for a long period.

What else is remarkable about this country? The fact is that there are cities and towns for every taste. In this country, you can stay in the center of city life, enjoy a stunning beach or live in solitude to get some inspiration. Which cities should you pay attention to? Below you will find a few cities that can be the perfect place to choose and stay.

Manila

It is the capital and the ideal place for all those who do not like calm towns. Here life is actively raging and you can feel all the peculiarities of life in the Philippines. By the way, in comparison with all other cities, the Internet works well here.

Dumaguete

This is another interesting town where a digital nomad can stay. A distinctive feature of this city is that there are mainly students here. Therefore, if you are used to the fact that you are surrounded by young people, this is the right place. Moreover, the cost of housing and food is quite affordable here.
Siargao Island

This is a real beach paradise and a great place for those who want to work nearby the azure waters. There is a very lively beach life here, and it is also one of the cities where all fans of extreme sports, such as surfing, gather. Even beginners can surf here as there are a lot of coaches who offer their services at an affordable price.

These are not all cities that can be an excellent choice for a digital nomad, but perhaps these are the most basic ones from which you should start your acquaintance with the Philippines.

The Benefits of the Philippines for Digital Nomad

What are the main advantages of the Philippines for digital nomads? Below are the main ones:

● High level of security. The crime rate in this country is low. Therefore, if this point is important to you, then this country can be a great place to feel safe.

● The locals are very friendly, sociable, and helpful.

● The official language is English, which means that you can easily communicate with the locals.

● Everything comes at a low price. The rental price is more than affordable.

● The Philippines has a diverse climate, which means that everyone can find a suitable place for them.

● There are stunning resort areas and amazing beaches.

● This country has a minimal number of tourists, as it is only gaining popularity as a tourist destination. This means that digital nomads are among the first to enjoy all the peculiarities of this country.

● Simple entry conditions and freedom of tourists. It is much easier to get a visa here compared to other countries.

● There is no Asian exotic that affects acclimatization. That is, you will not experience a special climate change, which can often negatively affect productivity.

Disadvantages of the Philippines for Digital Nomad

What disadvantages should you be prepared for if you decide to choose this country as your temporary place of residence? Keep the following points in mind.

● The Philippines is an overpopulated country. For example, Manila has a high population density due to migrants from Asia. Life in the capital is booming, and if you are looking for a place for solitude then you should think about other cities in this country.

● Mercantile spirit. Despite the friendliness of the locals, be prepared for the fact that many locals consider newcomers as a source of additional income.

● Slow Internet. Perhaps this is the key drawback for the digital nomad. Therefore, it is worthwhile to be prepared for such complexity in advance and to solve the problem before you arrive in the city of the Philippines.

● The car rental industry is not very developed in this country.

But despite the shortcomings, this country is becoming promising for digital nomads. There is no doubt that the Philippines will soon become one of the centers of freelancers and digital nomads.

Things To Consider When Traveling To The Philippines

As noted earlier, the main problem in this country is the Internet connection. In large cities, you may not worry about the Internet, but as soon as you decide to move away from large cities, you may face the problem of poor wi-fi connection or its complete absence. Since your work is impossible without the Internet, this can be a problem. So, it is worth thinking about this in advance and finding a solution to the issue.

Wrapping Up

The Philippines is a great place for digital nomads. This country is distinguished by its excellent nature and low prices. Bali is no longer so popular, the Philippines has much more to offer and it is time to check this on your own.

PAO-RB kicks off ‘E-ntablado: A Bridgetine Pantry of Art’

Wazzup Pilipinas!?

As part of the annual tradition of celebrating Christmas through arts, the St. Bridget College Performing Arts Office – Repertory Brigid (PAO-RB) sparks excitement as they present the “E-ntablado: A Bridgetine Pantry of Art”, a virtual showcase of Bridgetine talents.

Headed by SBC PAO Artistic Director, Mr. Cir Garing, E-ntablado draws inspiration from the idea of “pantry”, a term flourished during the time of pandemic that refers to a storage of food collected from donations. But instead of food, a call for different art form submissions will be put into showcase to offer its audience a Bridgetine Christmas spirit.

“The pandemic brought us challenges on how to embrace and cope up on art with each other. Yet, this program brought us one again. This will showcase that even if we have different visualizations, capabilities, and art careers to pursue, PAO-RB is a one family. E-ntablado is a program presented by PAO-RB which showcases diverse talents, meaning it doesn't stop only in dancing, singing, and acting. It tells stories through art and gives inspiration to love, embrace, and become art,” Paula Gabrielle D. Acosta, Assistant Company Manager of RB expressed.

“E-ntablado: A Bridgetine Pantry of Art” is set to be aired on December 21, 2021, 6:00 pm Philippine Standard Time at SBC Performing Arts Office Facebook page and YouTube channel.
