Best gift for your travel-savvy boyfriend

Wazzup Pilipinas!?

For all the wanderers out there, traveling is the need of the soul. Deep inside their hearts, they know they do not belong anywhere and everywhere, at the same time and it’s difficult to find a place that feels like home. For a traveler, home is not a place but a feeling he or she gets when they are with someone they love, so if a wanderer has chosen you as his companion then you must an incredibly special individual. If your boyfriend is someone who loves exploring new places and traveling is what gets him excited then you are in for a relationship full of fun, passion, and adventure. If you are thinking about getting a gift for him, then it is essential to keep this aspect of his personality in mind but if you are still confused about it then here is a list for you, to select the best gift for boys  whom you love the most.

Engraved Tokens in a Keychain- The only thing travelers take pride in collecting is the souvenirs from all the places they have been to. A reminder of all the amazing adventures they have been on would be an awesome gift so get a keychain and add in some token in it with engraved names of the places he has visited, trust us he will love it more than anything else.

Waterproof Portable Speaker- If he loves going to remote locations and loves music then you don’t have to look for anything else. Waterproof speakers are a must for long trips and hiking, and in an explored place when there’s no one around, soothing music is a companion a nature lover appreciates the most.

A Travel Bag- A traveler loves their bag the most, as it’s their most trusted accessory. If you wanna gift something to him and can’t decide on anything, go for a travel bag or hiking bag, it’s always a great and safe choice. There are plenty of brands that offer great bags but if you wanna go for hardy ones then check out the collection of Decathlon or Safari. Also, keep the types of trips he mostly takes while deciding the size of the bag.

A Polaroid Camera- Taking pictures is a big part of his life so why not give him a great camera and what would be better than a camera that prints out the images, simultaneously. A polaroid camera has become quite popular and there are many pocket-friendly options as well, for you to choose from.

An Experience Box- Being someone who loves to wander denotes the fact that he appreciates experiences more than material things therefore an experience box would be the perfect present for him, and for those who don’t know, an experience box is a digital gift that has personalized video, texts, audios and images to showcase. You can include all the footage and pictures from his trips and include them in your box collection and add your own voice on the top to tell him how much you love him.

Kindle- there are many people who love going to quiet places and enjoy the solitude by reading a good book, if your sweetheart is one of those then a kindle is a gift you can consider for him. It is an e-book reading tab from amazon and it’s very handy. It’s easy to use, has lots of space and it doesn’t weigh much so he can take it wherever he wants, a much better option than bulky paperback books.

Travel Hammock- While exploring, we often discover a place that feels surreal, and all you want to do is, lie down and appreciate the god almighty’s wonderful creation? We know how you feel and in that particular moment, a hammock can be their saviour. A travel hammock is a great gift for someone who enjoys hiking through dense forests and mountains, now decide what kind of traveler your sugar boo is and if his destinations are deep into the natural world, then this is the perfect gift for him.

If the love of your life likes traveling a lot then the best thing you can give him is your trust and companionship, along with something from the list of course!

Harry Roque fails to get a seat at the International Law Commission

Wazzup Pilipinas!?

President Rodrigo Duterte’s spokesperson Harry Roque, a former human rights lawyer, FAILS to secure a seat in the International Law Commission after strong opposition from human rights groups and law experts from around the world.

The UN General Assembly will elect only seven nationals from Asia-Pacific group to form the 34-member commission and Harry Roque did not make it. He is ... "as one of those believed to be legalized to do and condone crime as his CEO rules by decree."

Harry Roque from the Philippines got the least number of votes. Here is a transcript of results posted by Anthony Esguerra.

India 163

Thailand 162

Japan 154

Vietnam 145

China 142

South Korea 140

Cyprus 139

Mongolia 123

Lebanon 119

Sri Lanka 112

Philippines 87

Previously, more than 150 Filipino lawyers, among many others, sent a petition asking the International Law Commission not to elect Harry Roque.

International Association of Democratic Lawyers, which also opposed Roque’s election:

“Mr. Roque has arrogantly defended and justified even beyond the “call of duty” his principal’s attacks on human rights, justice, due process, and the rule of law.”

Karma really works. What comes around goes around.

Lesson learned... Wag magpakataas. Manatiling mapagkumbaba at gumawa ng tama para sa kapwa. Keep the goodness in you and don't compromise your core values just for temporary position or success.

I like the way this said "former human rights lawyer" because he could have just continued fighting the good fight but he didn't.

Dapat nga “former human” lang ang description.

Trabaho lang daw. I feel bad for you Atty Roque. You always have a choice to do good for your fellow. But as long as you're alive, there's still time to make it up. God bless you and guide you to the righteous path.

Considering the countless times he shamelessly put Filipinos down..

We're celebrating tonight!!!

SSS approves 7,158 online funeral claim applications worth P166.31 million

Wazzup Pilipinas!?

The Social Security System (SSS) has settled a total of 7,158 online Funeral claim applications from January to June 2021, amounting to P166.31 million, higher by 313.7 percent from the second semester of 2020.

SSS President and Chief Executive Officer Aurora C. Ignacio said that more members are now comfortable using its various online service facilities, which is evident in the tremendous increase received and processed for settlement.

"Now that the My.SSS Portal is very accessible for members and claimants to virtually transact with SSS and conveniently receive their cash benefits through their disbursement accounts; we are highly receiving positive feedbacks from stakeholders that our services have greatly improved through the years. Long queues in branches have been reduced while the processing time for benefit settlements has also been shortened." Ignacio said.

In compliance with Republic Act No. 11032 or the Ease of Doing Business and Efficient Government Services Delivery Act of 2018, the SSS implemented the mandatory online filing of funeral claims through the My.SSS Portal, along with other services and programs, last July 2020 to provide claimants with an easier, simpler, and faster means of filing funeral benefit claim applications through its brand campaign, ExpreSSS.

Funeral benefit, which ranges from P20,000 to P40,000, is granted to whoever defrayed the cost of funeral expenses of the deceased SSS member, permanent total disability pensioner, or retirement pensioner.

To submit applications, the claimant must have a registered account in the My.SSS Portal in the SSS Website and enrolled disbursement account under the Disbursement Account Enrollment Module (DAEM) located in the E-services Menu of the same portal. Member-claimants with no My.SSS account may now proceed with the registration link http://member.sss.gov.ph/members.

Under the current Circular No. 2021-007 issued by the SSS last July 2021, having an issued SSS Unified Multi-Purpose ID (UMID) or SSS digitized ID or application for UMID card is no longer a pre-requisite for online filing of the funeral claim.

Meanwhile, non-SSS member claimants may submit their duly-accomplished funeral claim application and supporting documents at the nearest SSS branch.

Step-by-step procedure on submitting funeral claim application online and over-the-counter, as well as the list of documentary requirements, can be accessed through this link https://bit.ly/3dai4TK.

Those who have submitted their application online will receive e-mail notifications upon successful submission of the funeral claim application indicating the concerned branch assigned for processing the claim and the subsequent approval or rejection of such.

Payments of funeral benefit shall be automatically credited to the claimant's UMID card enrolled as ATM, or their preferred disbursement account registered by the claimant through DAEM, if without a UMID card enrolled as ATM.
