Lady Gaga sings the national anthem at the inauguration of Joe Biden and Kamala Harris

I still can't believe they held the inauguration at a Lady Gaga concert. Lol.

Seriously, Lady Gaga nailed it! so many viral but positive tweets about Lady Gaga. Yes, she was the moment.

January 20 2009: President Obama is inaugurated. Lady Gaga finally breaks through in the US, her debut single climbs to #1.

January 20 2021: President Biden is inaugurated. Lady Gaga, now best-selling artist, is invited to sing the national anthem.

The national anthem has seldom resonated as much as it did when Lady Gaga emphasized the words “our flag was still there” and pointed to the flag on the Capitol, which had been attacked just a fortnight earlier. 

“I teared up a bit (well, full-on cried) when [Lady Gaga] arrived at the lyric ‘Gave proof through the night / That our flag was still there,’ ” Amanda Petrusich writes. The phrase felt like a necessary affirmation that America, in fact, remains. 

Incidentally, Lady Gaga's inauguration brooch would definitely make Hunger Games' Katniss Everdeen so proud....“A dove carrying an olive branch. May we all make PEACE with each other” 

and I loved her outfit.  It kept everything from getting too maudlin.

She combined fashion and poetry: her inauguration dress is a remembrance poppy flower to commemorate fallen soldiers. Those were poppies in the back of her hair.

A poppy is the symbol of remembrance and peace. It was a great tribute to those who have died of the Covid 19. Loved that Joe Biden actually paused in his speech to honor all those that passed from the virus.

and her avoiding eye contacting with lying bigot Mike Pence was the shade I didn’t know I needed to see. What a laugh trip! Lol!

As if attending the inauguration purified his soul and we will all forget his complicity in the 4 years of damage caused by Trump.  We should never forget, we should never accept him as purified nor a true Christian, nor an upstanding citizen of AMERICA!!

Idk if we are aware of the sociocultural phenomenon that is Lady Gaga. A legend that will live FOREVER and EVER in our minds and hearts! Even those who still say that she is over, that she is not relevant and that there are better than her. Sorry but here you have an eternal Icon.

So many good things happened that day. Kamala and her grand nieces, Joe's speech, Jill's sparkly coat, Lady Gaga's mini concert, instantly iconic Bernie moment, Eugene Goodman, and the breathtaking Amanda Gorman.

Lady Gaga hugging Michelle and Barack Obama, was a moment we should all remember.

Lady Gaga was superb. She turned it out! I loved her hair, earrings, skirt, in back of her head.. and she sang her heart out. Many missed the shade but she was the ultimate professional for me.

Inauguration musical performances are tricky. But Lady Gaga, Jennifer Lopez and Garth Brooks did exactly what we needed them to do.

Sure Biden had J Lo, Lady Gaga, and Garth Brooks but at the Mar a Lago pool room,  Donald Trump had Kid Rock singing: Cry Me a River. Lol!

Though seriously, Lopez and Brooks were sort of dreadful compared to Lady Gaga who was so immense. Unbelievable performance, utterly perfect rendition - with power. And I'm no fan of American politics.

Sometimes, music tells a story more succinctly than a speech. 

Hillary Clinton reveled in what she called a celebratory cultural moment for the entire nation. She praised the uplifting oratory of inaugural poet Amanda Gorman & Lady Gaga for delivering a national anthem like “I’ve never heard before”

Also, hearing a new president pledge to tell the truth and defend US democracy never sounded so revolutionary. 

With signings of 17 Executive Orders President Joe Biden on his first day of assuming charge has added a new chapter in American history.

Today is the best day in four years! Now if Biden does everything he says he’s going to do, I’ll be happy. I thought his Inaugural speech was excellent.

Pinky Webb on Harry Roque: The hair flip says it all

Even the Ficus Lyrata (Fiddle Leaf Fig Tree) at the back of Presidential Spokesperson Harry Roque does not like him. It's sad and withering.

This is how you manage argument with people with no excellence and honor (sit still, flips hair).

On #TheSource with Pinky Webb, Roque refused to react to what he described as an unfair question on honor and excellence regarding the controversial abrogation of the 1989 UP-DND Accord, which bars unauthorized entry of state forces in its campuses.

Roque was asked for a response to a tweet by journalism professor Danilo Arao, who challenged top government officials who graduated from UP to denounce Defense Secretary Delfin Lorenzana's letter about the pact's termination.

Webb is a journalist who is standing up for the truth & gave Roque a hair flip when he started bursting out. 

Why is he so triggered?! My goodness this man needs a chill pill to regulate his emotions. How I wish I could throw tantrums on national TV too. Ang taray ng lola mo ha. Galit na galit, gustong manakit.

The president says women are not suitable for a high position in the government coz they are too "emotional" yet we have Roque here getting pissed over an interview and having 0% composure. Look at the way Webb handled this mans fragile masculinity.

I mean?? Sino nga raw ulit ang weaker/ more emotional sex and therefore could not lead??

Webb’s deep sigh and subtle eye roll and the hair flip says it all. Where to buy Webb's composure and calmness? Dapat gumanti si Roque nung nag flip ng hair si Webb... Dapat nagtanggal sya ng wig niya.

We have grown men like Roque, Bato, Panelo, Du30, et al having meltdowns & throwing tantrums on national TV.

And then we have women like Pinky Webb, Karen Davila, Pia Ranada, Leni Robredo, et al handling their fragile masculinity w/ a knowing smile & a freakin hair flip.

and they have the audacity to tell the whole world that “Women are too emotional kasi“

Roque tried his best to not let Webb explain/speak her side kasi alam niyang mas may sense/totoo yung sasabihin ni Webb kaya kahit walang kwenta na pinagsasabi niya hala dada pa rin ng dada.... Alam mo yung galit ka pero alam mo yung kalaban mo yung tama kaso denial ka.

Parang nung Kamala Harris-Mike Pence debate.  Or Trump vs Biden/Clinton debate.  Style to win the point is to talk nonstop, the way to feel superior is if they deny their opponent a chance to talk.

Last time I checked, Webb was only asking  Roque some questions in a very polite manner when he bursted out.

You cannot simply "shush" women. It's about time we let you know where women belong in this society.

Bicol International Airport construction overall progress rate now at 72.2 percent

Construction of the Bicol International Airport (BIA), which is touted as the “Most Scenic Gateway” in the country, is moving at a fast pace.

At present, construction work at the BIA has been logged at 72.2 percent overall progress rate, considering that actual construction of the airport only started in December 2016.

As of 13 January 2021, Package 2A of the BAI development project is now 88.2 percent complete.

Construction work in Package 2A is being handled by the Sunwest Construction and Development Corp. and covers the airport’s landside facilities, such as the Administration Building, Air Traffic Control Building, Crash Fire Rescue Building, and the Maintenance Building.

Package 2B of the airport project, meanwhile, is now 49.5 percent complete. Package 2B which is being handled by the E.M. Cuerpo construction company, covers the construction of the passenger terminal building (PTB), taxiway, runway extension, and other site development works.

Once completed, the BIA, which features the iconic Mayon Volcano as its magnificent backdrop, is expected to serve a total of 2 million airline passengers every year. The new international airport is also projected to boost air traffic in the region amid the existing coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) pandemic.

The BIA initially started construction in 2008. However, development works were uncompleted until 2012. When the Duterte administration came in 2016, the airport's Package 2A and 2B projects were continued.

An important component of the Duterte Administration’s “Build, Build, Build” Program, the BIA also intends to be an instrumental in the transformation of Albay Province, and the rest of the Bicol Region, into a strong economic contender.

Secretary Tugade stressed the importance of having continuous transport infrastructure developments such as the BIA, which will prove vital as the country starts recovering from the impact of COVID-19.

“It can’t be denied that the aviation sector has been one of the hardest hit by the pandemic. That’s why it is important that we finish the airport at the soonest possible time, as this will absolutely give the economy a boost. Gusto ko matapos ‘yan within the year dahil gusto na natin itong agad na mapakinabangan ng ating mga kababayan. As we ready for take-off, kung baga, dapat all systems go,” the transportation chief emphasized.
