Miss Supranational Mutya Datul : Inspiring Life Story on ABS-CBN's Rated K

Wazzup Pilipinas!

"Mutya Johanna Fontiveros Datul, 21, was crowned as Miss Supranational 2013 in a lavish coronation pageant held at the Sports Palace in Minsk, Belarus.

Datul, a 5’8” beauty who hails from Sta. Maria, Isabela in northern Philippines, bested 82 other delegates worldwide to become the first Asian champion in the 5-year history of the global beauty pageant, succeeding Katya Buraya of Belarus, last year’s winner.

Before Datul’s proclamation as the winner, the hosts kept the viewers in suspense by hinting that “…the new Miss Supranational is a brown-eyed brunette who comes from a land of beautiful people far, far away…"
After watching the life story of @RealMutyaDatul on Rated K, I can't help but get inspired and amazed on how she remained a humble individual. Mutya Datul's life story is very inspiring. You really have to believe in your dreams because dreams do come true! I love you, Miss Supranational 2013! Beauty queen with a touching personality.

National conference on Language and Literature : Conferring Conference

Wazzup Pilipinas!

I have attended several seminars, conferences and gathering of educators which all aim to refresh teachers with certain pedagogies, to discuss new trends in education as well as academe-related issues which I think are a rehash of the old ones. Hence when someone invites me for another conference I would just smile and blatantly say “thank you”.

Last Sept 10-12 2013, I was asked to join the National Conference for Language and Literature sponsored by CETA. Thinking it was like any other usual conferences, I didn’t bother to prepare. I just took my pen and my notebook and wait for the dawn of the great ennui. Seated at the last row, I browse at the copy of the program, wishing for the seminar to start. Then my eyes caught a familiar name, the keynote speaker in this conference is no other than the national artist F. Sionil Jose. I began to be uneasy. I want to go home to get the book THE PRETENDERS and ask him to sign it.

The program started and I could not wait to see him. Then he walked to the stage. I couldn’t feel the aura of being the national artist in him although I must admit that there was something in him that I couldn’t explain. He got the microphone and asked if there were any among us who lives in Rosales, Pangasinan. I wanted to raise my hand, stand and forget that I come from Rizal. However, he might talk to me in his dialect and it would really be embarrassing if I would not be able to respond properly.

Pistang Journalist

Wazzup Pilipinas!

Last September 3, 2013 was the closing ceremony of the 20th Division Secondary Schools Press Conference at the Division Office of Pasig. But it was also the day of our “Pistang Pinoy” in school. Even though we
were anxious to find out who of us would get a medal in our individual categories, I couldn’t stop thinking
about the Pistang Pinoy happening in our school. I wanted to go back to school so that I could eat, and
celebrate with my classmates. But instead I was sitting inside a room sweating my nerves out, because of the nervousness.

As the winners were being awarded it took some time before we heard on of out names being called, all-in-all we won in 11 individual categories and ranked 3rd among all the schools that joined. Sadly, I didn't win in any category but I still had a great time with fellow Pascians. It was my first time being with some of them, but it felt as is I've always known them. After the four day press conference, we not only became friends, but we became a family.
