Zendee to Represent the Philippines in Singapore as YouTube Discoveries

Wazzup Pilipinas!

YouTube has done wonders for many of our talented perfromers especially for the ones who were actually discovered and made popular because of their videos appearing on the social media video site.

Many were aspiring singers whose talents were more recognized and appreciated when they appeared on YouTube. The site has really made a lot of stars and a lot more hopefuls that maybe someday they will be given a break as well and get invited to talk shows of Oprah and Ellen.

Singapore’s top communications company Star Hub presents “Under the Stars: From Online to a Live Stage” a stellar concert with a great line-up of international and local talents that have successfully gained a following on YouTube.

Featured line-up of artists include Tanner Patrick (USA), Madilyn Bailey (USA), Nate Tao (USA), The 38 Years Ago (Thailand), The Sam Willows (Singapore) and our very own Zendee as the final act.

Philippines Reborn for a Better Tomorrow

Wazzup Pilipinas!

This is a statement coming from a Facebook friend which gave me sort of some shivers within. Not because its a dreaded wishful thinking of a hopeful citizen of the country but because of the admirable vision she wishes to impart to others though I feel its not really a priority of many who are only doing advocacy and charity work for show.

It is quite a challenge to motivate people if they see nothing to gain from the effort.

Every action has its ulterior motive, whether they admit it or not. It should be admitted and not denied because everyone wants something in return.

Epson Announces Investment in New Production Lines For Next Generation Print Heads

Wazzup Pilipinas!

Seiko Epson Corporation announced that it has invested approximately about 16 billion yen in two production lines in Japan.

The lines have been constructed to manufacture next-generation print heads – the core component in inkjet printers – for use in business and industrial printing systems to come to market in the latter part of the 2013 fiscal year.

This capital investment, made over three years from fiscal 2011, has been made to build new production lines that contain a host of original Epson manufacturing technologies. These new lines will be located in Epson’s Suwa-Minami Plant in Nagano Prefecture and the Sakata Plant in Yamagata Prefecture. Production demands a high level of technical skill, and Epson was required to bring to bear its many years of accumulated expertise in monozukuri – the art and science of manufacturing – to make the production lines a reality.

Ateneo De Manila University : Proud to be Somewhat Atenista Even for a While

Wazzup Pilipinas!

A month and a few days has passed already when we first started with our review class. At first you’ll think “I think I want to go home, maybe they’ll eat and I’m scared” or “I’m excited to meet new friends!” Any of the two, we knew it’s going to be a new beginning towards a new chapter in our life and in our future. In our future because its a new opportunity for every one of us in this world. But before that, a new memory will be added to our memory bank. These memories will make us smile when we think of them again.

I’ve experienced to be somewhat an "Atenista". I was not a student there but a student who had an opportunity to enter the campus of Ateneo. I’m a 4th year high school student who had a chance to enter Ateneo for review classes. Eventhough it was just a short period of time, it’s enough to observe what life of a college student could be.

The Ateneo de Manila University is one of the best universities in the Philippines. When you hear the word Ateneo, the first thing that comes to your mind are rich, intelligent and popularly known personalities in society. But there’s a lot of ordinary students in there that are not known but can still be considered a student to be proud of. There we’re also scholars student like me who needed help from the government or sponsoring institutions.

The Youth for the King (Y4K) Sports Fest : Spells Really FUN

Wazzup Pilipinas!

There was nothing really special that happened this year if it will be compared to my summer vacation last year. There were only a few things I did outdoors. I spent almost all my time inside our house not counting the weekends because I go to our church every Saturday night and Sunday morning, which I do regularly even if it is not Summer Vacation. So you can see that there’s no remarkable difference between my summer days and school days.

What did we do during weekdays this summer vacation? Wake up late and Sleep late. Clean the whole house EVERY SINGLE DAY. Eat anytime we want. Watch Movies, Korean Dramas, and TV Shows. Surf the net as soon as we wake up. Study a little. This became our daily routine.

Well, of course, I also did some things worth of my time, things that I can say useful and somewhat memorable.

Jose and Wally Sponsors Night Held at the Raw Matters Cafe

Wazzup Pilipinas!

Here's a contributor I sent to the Jose and Wally Sponsors Night. The event was meant for the recognition of the sponsors,a nd the opportunity for some members of the online media to interview the sponsors, and maybe land an arrangement of their own for some other sponsorship.

The Jose and Wally show is actually a benefit show for thyroid patients. Comic duo Jose Manalo and Wally Bayola will be leading the show at Crossroad Center on July 6 along with guest performers Ethel Booba and Anton Diva.

The Philippine Society of Nuclear Medicine is leading the benefit show entitled as Juan Night with Jose and Wally to support the initial treatment of 10 patients.

The event organizers will be giving away a "3-day, 2-night Boracay Trip for 2 with Airfare and Accommodation" on July 6, 2013!!!

Be the lucky JUAN!!! Grab your tickets now!!!

Black Canyon Coffee: Not Your Typical Coffee Shop

Wazzup Pilipinas!

A while back a lot of people began complaining that coffee houses have become nothing but places to be seen at.

In 1993, the people behind Black Canyon (Thailand) Co. Ltd. decided to change that.  They developed Black Canyon Coffee, a Thai specialty coffee and International Thai menu restaurant.  Today, the internationally Renown Black Canyon Coffee Restaurant is to be found in several countries, including the Philippines.

In fact, just last June 15, 2013, Black Canyon Coffee Restaurant (BCC) held the grand opening of its second branch in the Philippines.  It was a momentous event, was graced by none other than Mr. Pravit Chitnarapong, Founder and CEO of Black Canyon Thailand Co., Ltd.

Fully Filipino-owned Lamoiyan Corporation has more reasons to smile as it continues to bring world-class quality yet affordable products that never fail to earn the peoples' trust and loyalty, especially now that the company is in its 25th year of existence.

PETRONAS Proudly Presents Liquid and Metal in Action

Wazzup Pilipinas!

A few nights ago, I attended an event organized by a wholly owned subsidiary of Petroliam Nasional Berhad (PETRONAS), the well-known national oil company of Malaysia famous for being one of the top oil and gas company and also for its magnificent PETRONAS towers.

Luckily I arrived early at the event before the heavy rains and strong winds decided to drop by for a visit and got the entire exhibit open area soaked wet. The cars and motorcycles really got a heavy dose of rainwater. The band playing outside was very admirable as they tried to finish the song they were playing before deciding to cut the performance short due to the bad weather. Most of us just went inside to wait for the main event. After probably more or less than an hour, the storm settled down and everyone had the chance to see the exhibit again.

Rain or shine, the event had to go on. No bad weather is going to stop the event from pushing through.

144 Hours of Summer

Wazzup Pilipinas!

“Summertime is always the best of what might be.” – said the popular American author, Charles Bowden.

I definitely agreed with him. Summer is the time for relaxation and recreation and at the same time it is the time where people make the most out of their lives. As much as I didn’t actually fulfill what I wanted for my summer to be as I just lazed around for most of the time in the house. I still enjoyed it. I guessed for the reason that I was with my friends. Now here goes my 144 hours (6 days) of summer – the best 144 hours of my life! Not even kidding…

Some of my classmates wanted to review for the UPCAT so at the last period of our class that day we chatted if we wanted to just have the review in our school or we wanted to try other review centers. So we all agreed to the latter.
