On Republic Act No. 11311

We welcome the passage of Republic Act No. 11311, known as “An Act to Improve Land Transportation Terminals, Stations, Stops, Rest Areas, and Roll-on/Roll-off Terminals,” which President Rodrigo Roa Duterte recently signed into law.

This will further our efforts to provide convenient and comfortable travel to passengers, as directed by DOTr Secretary Arthur Tugade, upon the guidance of President Duterte.

Republic Act No. 11311 shall take effect fifteen (15) days after its publication in the Official Gazette or in at least two (2) national newspapers of general circulation.

The DOTr and other concerned agencies are expected to draft the Implementing Rules and Regulations (IRR) within 60 days after the effectivity of the law.

For its part, the DOTr will immediately coordinate with other concerned agencies for the IRR, so that commuters may soon experience much improved facilities and amenities in transport terminals.

The DOTr remains committed to deliver the marching order of President Duterte to give Filipinos a comfortable life, through an enhanced and dignified commuting experience.
