Philippine Women's University/JASMS Takeover: Is There An Attempt to Influence Public Opinion?

Wazzup Pilipinas!

You may have been following the PWU / JASMS vs. STI issue, which has seen coverage both in the newspapers and in some blogs. One thing that I've noticed is that another website has actually posted excepts of the minutes of more than one board meeting of Unlad (the Benitez family real estate company that holds the land on which PWU and JASMS are situated). If we assume for a moment that nobody in the Benitez family would leak a copy of the minutes to a website that was writing hit pieces on them, who does that leave?

It leaves the non-Benitez appointed directors of Unlad, who are all appointed by Eusebio Tanco (including the Corporate Secretary who drafted the minutes) and no one else. Taking into account the timing of the leak (during a business negotiation between Tanco and the Benitez family) and the contents (excerpts attempting to paint the Benitez family in a negative light) it is easy to see that this move is simply an attempt to influence public opinion against the Benitez family, and rush a decision under pressure.

Take that into consideration when weighing the evidence and coming to your own conclusions.

  1. Hey, I was trying to save up for a smartwatch I’ve been wanting for months, but progress was painfully slow. I tried some games online and kept losing small amounts, which only made me doubt it even more. Then I decided to risk a little more on spinmacho and finally hit a solid win that covered a big part of the cost. The thrill of turning a losing streak into success was unforgettable, and I’d definitely recommend giving it a try.

  2. Wow, great article! The way local culture and community spaces evolve is fascinating—it’s not just about places, but about creating moments and connections. Speaking of platforms bringing people together, I recently came across PakRummy, which blends traditional rummy gameplay with modern mobile features. Maybe it’s just a game app, but seeing something that respects classic card games while making them accessible online is a reminder of how traditions can move forward without losing their soul.
