Wazzup Pilipinas Founder Featured on ABS-CBN's Rated K

Wazzup Pilipinas!

I'm so excited to share another lucky opportunity given to yours truly as your friendly neighborhood Pambansang Blogger ng Pilipinas, Ross Del Rosario, gets interviewed for ABS-CBN's Rated K hosted by Korina Sanchez-Roxas, one of the top broadcast journalist and news anchor of the country, and the supportive wife of Mar Roxas, our Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG) Secretary.

This is a delightful way to start 2015! It may be just a short interview but being featured by one of the popular television shows of one of the top local channels of the Philippines is something to be proud of already. I am also overwhelmed that it was the very first activity I did this 2015 with special thanks to a friend who recommended me for the spot.

ABS-CBN has been one of the leading TV networks in the country and many people are saying that you've got it made already, or at least on your way to better opportunities, once you've been seen in any of their shows. Rated K is one of their top prime-time TV shows aired every Sunday and hosted by Korina Sanchez-Roxas, one of their top-notch and senior talents handling the news on both TV and radio stations of the ABS-CBN network.

They said I am sharing the segment with a Chef they interviewed earlier, probably a few days ago, on the same topic, and they wanted to hear about my own comments based on their research of 2015 food trends (Papatok na bagong kainan at lutuin na tiyak na pagkakaguluhan!). So I tried my best to share some thoughts even though I was trembling in nervousness. Lol!

Though it may have been an impromptu interview with almost zero time to prepare (not even able to go through the exact questions in advance or rehearse a single answer) since I got the notice the same day I was interviewed (make that a couple of hours), I hope the production team will find a way to may me look good in the very few video materials they got from the video interview. They did allow me to do retakes of some portions of the video interview but I felt I could have done better if I was prepared at least a day (or a century...hehehe).

Who am I kidding? I would forever be a nervous wreck since I'm not usually the one being interviewed. As a blogger or online media (considered already as a member of the media group), I spend most of my time typing away on a keyboard and whenever I do go outside to attend events, I would always be the one conducting the interview. Being on the other end of the microphone or camera is not really that easy.

I was so nervous that it was so hard to think of better ways to construct my statements. My voice was also a bit hoarse since my mouth was drying up probably because of the tension. I was interviewed before already by other TV and radio stations but not by my lonesome. I would normally be part of a panel being interviewed regarding topics I am very familiar with. It was actually easier being interviewed on the radio since there's no video camera with a bright light focused on me.

I admired how the Rated K crew were able to quickly conduct the video interview and other shoots done at the Crown Center Building (home of One Asia Center) located along Jupiter Street in Makati. I requested them to do the video interview at the office since we were currently doing general cleaning at home as a way to tidy up the house so we can start the year fresh, clean and organized.

I was informed the interview will be shown on the Rated K episode airing the next day (Sunday January 4, 2015 right after the Wansapanataym TV show), so I understood the reason why it was a rush job. But they seem to be very confident they would manage to finish all the editing and related stuff before tomorrow's airing. Wow! I wish I could work that fast.

Anyway, I can't wait to see the outcome on how they would create the TV segment where I would be a part of. Here's crossing my fingers I did not make a fool of myself. But it doesn't really matter because being on TV, regardless of how awful it was,  is so cool and awesome already!

May 2015 continue to be a fruitful year for Wazzup Pilipinas. Thank you to all who supported and believed in Wazzup Pilipinas, especially our sponsors, partners, readers and fellow bloggers.
