KFC Squads Up with PUBG: Battlegrounds and PUBG Mobile in Exciting New Collab for Gamers to Load Up, Dive In and Taste Victory

Prepare for a convergence of flavors and action as KFC comes to PUBG: BATTLEGROUNDS and PUBG MOBILE, with in-game restaurants, exclusive KFC themed items alongside real-world special set meals in select regions*

KFC launched the ultimate collaboration for fans, PUBG: BATTLEGROUNDS and PUBG MOBILE players as they join squads in a battle royale for the ultimate taste of victory. This ground-breaking partnership allows players to visit virtual KFC restaurants in PUBG: BATTLEGROUNDS and PUBG MOBILE, alongside exclusive KFC items. An exciting new promotion unlocking exclusive in-game rewards with the purchase of special KFC PUBG meals will also be available in select markets.

From October 2nd to November 6th, PUBG MOBILE players can look forward to indulging their senses with virtual dining experiences in KFC Royale Restaurants across the Erangel, Miramar, Nusa, and Livik maps. These in-game KFC restaurants will offer players the opportunity to feast on mouthwatering KFC delicacies, each with their own distinct health or energy boosts, to help them take home the win. Players will also be able to gear up in KFC themed items including the KFC Royale Colonel Set, Chicken Champ Cover and Set, Royale Delight Top and Parachute, Seasoned Squad Graffiti, and Crispy Crunch Avatar Frame.



For a limited time during this collaboration, PUBG: BATTLEGROUNDS players will have the exciting opportunity to acquire KFC-themed in-game items and encounter KFC restaurants on the Erangel map. Inside these KFC restaurants, players can explore a variety of themed items available at the kiosks, including the KFC Chicken Box, KFC French Fries, and KFC Energy Drink – each offering health benefits. Game gear, wins and accessories include KFC themed Colonel's Bucket Hat, Colonel's Jacket, Colonel's Shorts, Colonel's Clogs, Colonel's Parachute, and "It's Finger Lickin' Good" Spray. Players will also be exposed to crave-worthy KFC in-game visuals such as the statue of Colonel Sanders, plane banner, electric billboards, and map decal.

In addition to these tasty in-game treats, players can savor the flavor and experience the collaboration in the real world. Fans can “Load up, Dive in” with PUBG themed meals at participating KFC restaurants, online or via the KFC app in select regions* and score in-game finger lickin’ good loot straight from the Colonel’s kitchen. The rewards will include up to six battle cosmetics in KFC's signature red and white brand colors and inspired by KFC’s craveable tastes, allowing PUBG: BATTLEGROUNDS and PUBG MOBILE players to indulge all of their senses.

Born in Manila: Instituto Cervantes organizes concert to pay tribute to Spanish singer-composer Luis Eduardo Aute

Instituto Cervantes de Manila, in collaboration with the Embassy of Spain in the Philippines, presents the concert “Born in Manila (A Tribute to Aute)”, on the occasion of the 80th anniversary of the birth of the Manila-born singer-composer and painter Luis Eduardo Aute. This event will be held on Tuesday, November 7, at 7:00 PM in the Carlos P. Romulo Auditorium at the RCBC Plaza in Makati.

The screening of “Con tu latido”, a video documentary produced in 2021 by Instituto Cervantes de Manila will open the event. Filmed in distinct locations in Intramuros, this video features Filipino singers, such as Bituin Escalante and Mark Anthony Carpio, performing some of the songs of Luis Eduardo Aute. This will be followed by live performances of some of the singers including Sheila Ferrer and Toma Cayabyab, who also participated in the recording of “Con tu latido”. Toma, son of National artist Ryan Cayabyab, has arranged the new renderings and versions of Autes’s songs, both those recorded in the documentary and those that will be part of the repertoire to be performed live at the RCBC.

The concert will also include the special participation of Spanish singer Rosa León, who will be arriving from Spain for this occasion. The early years of her career as a singer, in the 70’s, was closely linked to Aute, as she had popularized some of his greatest songs, such as “Las cuatro y diez” and “Al alba”.

Luis Eduardo Aute was born in Manila on September 1943 during the Japanese occupation. His father worked at the Tabacalera. His grandmother, born in Valencia, was brought to the Philippines during the Spanish era at the age of three. They had a house along Roxas Boulevard (which back then was Dewey Boulevard) that also served as the headquarters of the Japanese troops and later on the Americans. He studied at De La Salle, but the family moved to Spain in 1954 where, years later, Aute would become one of the icons of Spanish music in the second half of the 20th century.

Metro Pacific Tollways South (MPT South), a subsidiary of Metro Pacific Tollways Corporation (MPTC), is gearing up for the expected surge in motorists during the 2023 Barangay and Sangguniang Kabataan Elections and the observance of All Saints and All Souls' Days.

The toll road operator is fully prepared to assist Undas travelers through reactivation of its "Safe Trip Mo, Sagot Ko" (SMSK) motorist assistance program during the following period: 6 AM of October 27, 2023, to 6 AM of October 29, 2023; 6 AM of October 31, 2023, to 6 AM of November 2, 2023; and 6 AM of November 4, 2023, to 6 AM of November 6, 2023. This program covers MPT South's high-speed road networks, including the Cavite-Laguna Expressway (CALAX), and in partnership with the Philippine Reclamation Authority (PRA) and its operating subsidiary PEA Tollway Corporation (PEATC) for the Manila-Cavite Expressway (CAVITEX) and CAVITEX C5 Link.


 

"MPT South toll roads are fully prepared to serve the expected traffic surge across our toll road networks as we approach these consecutive holidays. With CAVITEX C5 Link and CALAX implementing 100% RFID dry run, we urge our motorists to have an RFID installed and ensure it has sufficient load for a more seamless passage at our toll roads. Motorists may plan their trips, through MPT DriveHub app which provides traffic update, toll fee calculator, reloading facility, and even emergency roadside assistance” said MPT South President and General Manager, Mr. Raul L. The SMSK program provides a comprehensive range of services to ensure smooth travel during the holidays. This includes deploying additional personnel for on-ground tasks such as traffic management which includes patrolmen, security personnel, and toll collection which includes ambulant tellers for cash lanes and RFID assistants for RFID lanes. RFID installers will be readily available to address any RFID-related requirements, particularly for toll plazas that are part of the 100% RFID dry-run (CAVITEX C5 Link and CALAX).

Also, under the SMSK program, the toll road operator will offer free towing for CLASS 1 vehicles (up to the nearest exit only) during the period. The program also guarantees the emergency medical services and incident response teams will be deployed strategically, ensuring they are always available and prepared to assist motorists in need.

Sa ilalim ng SMSK program, ilalagay sa 'high alert' status ang iba't ibang serbisyo sa kahabaan ng expressway upang masiguro ang maayos at ligtas na paglalakbay ngayong holiday. Magde-deploy ito ng karagdagang manpower para sa on-ground tasks gaya ng traffic management kabilang ang patrolmen at security personnel, maging ang toll collection, kabilang ang ambulant tellers para sa cash lanes at RFID assistant sa bawat RFID lane.
