Revitalized and upgraded Zamboanga International Airport will soon expand its flight routes to and from Southeast Asian destinations

After getting a major face lift with the completion of its development projects, a revitalized and upgraded Zamboanga International Airport will soon expand its flight routes to and from Southeast Asian destinations, Transportation Secretary Art Tugade revealed Tuesday, 28 September 2021.Based on the approval of Secretary Tugade and the local government of Zamboanga City, the airport may start international flight expansion and kick-off its international operations with the approval of Zamboanga-Kuala Lumpur flights by its Malaysian counterpart.

“Zamboanga International Airport is ready for international operations. It has long been prepared for this. The airport can start international operations through the Zamboanga-Manila-Kota Kinabalu route. But we have to wait for our Malaysian counterpart for the Zamboanga-Kota Kinabalu flight,” Tugade said.

Tugade added that once Philippine Airlines (PAL) submits its proposal for an international flight accommodation with other Southeast Asian nations, the country’s flag carrier may soon start its day operations at the airport.

Meanwhile, PAL Senior Assistant Vice President for Philippine Sales Harry Inoferio said international flight destinations include Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia; Jakarta, Indonesia; Ho Chi Minh, Vietnam; and Bangkok, Thailand.

Inoferio said once quarantine restrictions in the Philippines and other countries are eased, the country’s flag carrier will start accommodating international flights in the fourth quarter of 2022.

“‘Yung regional flights natin, kung sakali, ‘yung flights galing—pwedeng Kuala Lumpur, pwedeng Jakarta, pwedeng Saigon (Ho Chi Minh) at Bangkok. Depende sa takbo ng preparation. Marami kasing protocols, requirement ngayon,” he explained.

“Maraming moving parts na kailangan ayusin. Kailangan namin ng go signal mula sa government authorities. Depende ‘yun sa timeline nila. Kasi sila ‘yung magbibigay ng go signal samin. Basta may demand ng ruta, we will be willing to consider that,” he added.

Tugade assured that apart from the completed development projects, more development projects will be undertaken by the CAAP to further improve and accommodate international flights at the Zamboanga International Airport.

Zamboanga International Airport development projects include the expansion of its runway, apron and taxiway, Tugade said.

Tugade further stated that Zamboanga International Airport is already primed to accommodate international tourists, which will lift Zamboanga City’s commercial, tourism and economic status.

COMELEC extends Voters Registration until October 30

Comelec chairman Sheriff Abas said the en banc will extend the voter registration for #the 2022 Election from October 9-31, 2021.

However, according to Commissioner Rowena Guanzon, the extension is from October 11 to October 30, 2021, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. No registrations on Saturdays except on October 30. Reactivation can still be done through email or personal appearance. 

Comelec spokesman James Jimenez also confirms that the en banc unanimously approved voters’ registration extension from Oct 11 to 30. Jimenez added that registration at malls will continue.

I know I’ve complained about voter’s registration, but I also cannot discredit the hard work of COMELEC employees who are just as tired, understaffed, and staying up late hours trying to accomodate eveyone as well. We’re all just victims of inefficient systems + circumstances.

I thank the COMELEC for heeding the people's clamor to extend the registration period. Now, more than ever, we need to listen to our people. Every voice must be heard.

Attention Filipinos who will be voting overseas in 2022. The COMELEC has just extended OVERSEAS registration from October 1 to 14, and if you already have an existing registration record with biometrics, you can do a lot of things online.

Has Kuya Kim Atienza transferred to GMA 7?

We are all trying to survive during this pandemic. Sometimes, loyalty won't help us to survive. 

Kuya Kim is transferring to GMA!? Legit? After the the rumored transfer of Kuya Boy, now Kuya Kim naman?

Truly the end of an era, iconic figures of ABS-CBN leaving the network is painful TBH.

Kuya Kim's rumored transfer to GMA makes me sad. He's a science teacher to my elementary self. I guess he's also the best-known, but cannot really be called an expert but the most popular weather reporter. Awww Matanglawin has changed his second home?

After Ernie Baron died, Kuya Kim became that "constant". From Matang Lawin to TV Patrol "alam niyo ba", I wish GMA will give him the same kind of quality segment.

GMA news, and documentary series are Godtier. For sure na hindi nila papabayaan si Kuya Kim.

Mas marami yatang opportunities sa GMA in terms of journalism so I hope he does well there.

It's a good move for Kuya Kim and doing a documentary/any segments  for GMA. I'm sure he will be known and eventually receive an award internationally. Like Atom Araullo, who is now receiving international awards by doing documentaries.

The man has to work for his family. Kayo ba susuporta sa kanila? He has valid reasons we can all understand.

At least, Kuya Kim is known to be kind to all people. I experienced it myself so I have nothing but good things to say about him.

When money is at stake and you have a family to feed, you’ll accept whatever offer’s available at the table to survive specially this pandemic. We should be supporting Kuya Kim for sure ABS-CBN bosses allowed him and he will replace or alternate/tandem with Mang Tani at 24 Oras for sure. 

But Mang Tani is a real weather expert because he was with PAGASA before. 

Merely reading what is written is different from expertise. Mang Tani is way greater than Kim Atienza when it comes to atmospheric phenomenas. Kuya Kim is just more popular and better in entertaining.

Same reason why GMA is the best in news and pilublic affairs while ABS-CBN is more known as an entertainment network.

Hindi rin naman pwedeng palitan sina Doc Ferds at Doc Nielsen dahil mga totoong vet din.

Rather, I think they will put Kuya Kim on GMA’s new show sa GTV, “Dapat Alam Mo” kasi wala pa silang pinapakitang host. So baka si Kuya Kim ang nagiging host.

But Mang Tani was seen in Eat Bulaga noontime show showing he is already in Australia with his family. So if ever he will stay longer or permanently there because of this pandemic, Kuya Kim could really be the replacement of Mang Tani. 

Let's look at this objectively:

Kuya Kim is like an ordinary Filipino who decided to go abroad for a living and had to leave his family behind.

It is a tough choice but it is something that he had to do.

But someday, he will RETURN HOME to his FAMILY

Good luck, Kuya Kim. 

What if mag-rebrand ang TV Patrol and we see these people as anchors. 

 

Ian Esguerra will be the good candidate as Successor of Kabayan. Tapos magkaroon na ng reformat like yung pagbabasa ng news is tulad sa ibang bansa na kalmado at walang BGM.

Though hindi bagay si Christian Esguerra bilang news reader lang, makita ko pa lang siya for sure na nagiging comprehensive at intellectually challenging kasi expect ko na hihimayin niya bawat news na babasahin niya.

Ang TV Patrol kasi more on news reading lang eh. Christian Esguerra is perfect at bagay sa interviews sa ANC even Karen Davila. Kay Noli naman ang tumatatak lang yung "Maganda gabi, bayan" eme niya. Beyond that ay waley na.

Esguerra and the other English fluent anchors needs to stay in ANC. (Palisada, Constantino, Dinsay, Velasquez, Cruz etc.) Based on their current setup it looks like the most reasonable person to get promoted to weeknights is Alvin Elchico. I want Karen or Zen though to join HOD & B.S.

It's actually Julius Babao, reclaiming his role sa TV Patrol, ang may pinakamalaking chance pumalit.

Medyo hirap na si Karen ibalik yung original tagalog accent niya. I'm just gonna be mad if HOD gets fired or replaced again or something. She deserves the spotlight kahit medyo rusty na siya.

Also, much better gamitin nila yung Millennium theme which is ang ganda pang news....

Sana mawala nang tuluyan si Noli. Hindi naman legit media personality iyan. He won't be missed. His daily greeting will be missed by many, though. tumatak na sa masa ang 'Magandang gabi, bayan'. But true enough, even when he was Vice President Hindi umiimik Kay Gloria Arroyo kahit ang daming questionable acts and scandalous issues.

Pero ito ang tanong: sino ang papalit kay Kuya Kim?

Baka si Betina Magsaysay. 

Betina Magsaysay seems like a competent replacement. Although, active pa ba sya?

Who knows, maybe someone in ABS-CBN will step up and reclaim the spot of weather/trivia man or be really good at doing interviews. We never know. Edward Barber for example has a lot of potential. Still young and not yet ripe but has good hosting and interview skills.

Also may countdown para sumakto sa oras, tapos kada isang araw, iba ang reporter (pero same pa rin like Henry Omaga-Diaz and Bernadette Sembrano).

Hoping na ma adopt ng ibang network ang gantong format.

On one end, I’m sad to hear that Kapamilya icons Tito Boy and Kuya Kim are leaving but on the other, I’m happy that GMA will get quality talents. I always say this, "Competition is good!!"

I know TV Patrol can still survive and will find a replacement for Kim Atienza soon. 

A heartbreak it is but we need to move on and adapt with the changes that is bound to happen. 

I wish luck and thanks to Kuya Kim for the effort to fight. There should be no bitterness at all from.his colleagues and the network.

Walang permanente sa industriya nila kaya kung saan may magandang oportunidad, go! Though money is a big factor, a lot of the times they just want change in environment, work culture, meet people and build new relationships.
