Tatlong Karagdagang Median Bus Stops ng EDSA Buseay, Bubuksan Na Sa Sabado

Wazzup Pilipinas!

Several fake products sold on Lazada and Shopee

Wazzup Pilipinas!

Senators are crafting measures to protect consumers from fake and potentially harmful goods sold online.

Because of this, online shopping portals might consider banning "small sellers" as well as food and drug vendors on its app after a Senate panel flagged the sale of thousands of counterfeit goods on the online shopping platforms.

http://www.wazzuppilipinas.com/2020/07/e-commerce-portals-lazada-and-shopee.html

Small sellers talaga?

There's probably a big shopping mall behind this trying to save it's business model. They always are in the background trying to stop the little man.

Are they also saying that they are indirectly banning CHINESE MADE goods? Doesn’t that sound right in this administration? These online shopping portals are infested with Chinese goods aka counterfeited or bootlegged items.

This bill will affect SMEs when we are in a crisis. Let the buyer become aware “caveat emptor” of such realities. We have enough laws to protect consumers. Just implement stricter processes, and not limit the opportunities to the big players.

Sellers have already found a way to go around this by using play of words ie., OVERRUNS, OEMS, MADE IN SG (perfumes). But honestly some people prefer knock-offs, for aesthetics and economical reasons.

Don't they review each listing as it goes live? Did every user report go unnoticed? Yung iba kasi diyan ay blatantly fake.

These sites are now full of Chinese vendors selling pirated and fake goods. Lazada and Shopee are advancing as among the biggest online selling platforms for fake and pirated goods. If they take their job seriously they should ban these sellers of fake products.

They should require sellers to submit necessary documents for each of the listing they sell such as authorization letter from the manufacturer before it goes live on the platform. They should also ban or deactivate the account of those sellers selling fake goods once reviewed.
