US Marine Killer of Transgender Jennifer Laude Is Set Free

Wazzup Pilipinas!

Transgender Jennifer Laude was murdered by US marine Joseph Scott-Pemberton in Olongapo City on October 11, 2014. She was found dead in a motel, with her head submerged in a toilet bowl. This murder happened because of how Laude fooled Pemberton in believing she was a real woman. Today, her murderer has been granted release!

The prison in Camp Aguinaldo is not even maintained by the Philippines but by the U.S. military, thanks to the Visiting Forces Agreement (VFA).

Pemberton served only 6 years for the killing of Jennifer Laude. Six comfortable  cushy years. He has been ordered released. Six years for the brutal killing of a Filipino. Six years for a US serviceman covered by the VFA. SIX YEARS.

6 yrs lang?  Permberton walks free? Good Conduct Time Allowance is unfair for victims of heinous crimes. The life of a Jennifer Laude is priceless! GCTA ok 4 Robbery, Qualified Theft,. But for murder, homicide , dapat auto-disqualify for it. Unfair sa napatay at namatayan.

Now it all makes sense why the @TeamAFP put forth that what I thought then was a seemingly random statement on SOGIE. Baka ito pala bigger play. To help lobby for the bail out of their supposed brother in arms.

It's sickening how a white US marine really got away with murdering a transgender and is now walking freely after only six years since the murder happened. Jennifer laude will remain as another burried case.

Laude’s death personifies the death of Philippine sovereignty and the light penalty imposed on Pemberton proves that despite the President's independent foreign policy, that Americans continue to have the status of conquering colonials in our country.

Despite the glaring lack of proof of Pemberton's behavior and conduct, Olongapo court says he has served more than the 10-year maximum penalty. How when the crime happened 2014, and it's only 2020.

There is no #JusticeForJennifer in a justice system that bows down to the whims of the United States!

The VFA has made it possible for a murderer like Pemberton to be entitled to good conduct time allowance (GCTA) when he has never set foot in a Philippine jail.

Setting Pemberton free is an insult to Laude, to the LGBTQ+ community, and to our national sovereignty; celebrating Ferdinand Marcos in a holiday is a grave insult to the thousands killed, raped, tortured, arrested, and disappeared under his fascist dictatorship.

If anything, these two issues today show us rather blatantly that justice system in this country is skewed towards the interests of those in power just to allow them to kill—to commit brutal human rights violations and crimes against humanity with rampant and brazen impunity.

Though the family got a huge sum of more than 4 million. Could this be the reason why Pemberton got an early release?

Pembeton’s lawyer and Marilou Laude (Jennifer Laude’s sister) met last August 25 for the settlement of civil damages. This comes more than 5 years after he was found guilty of homicide for Jennifer’s death.

The Supreme Court has terminated its review of the case involving Pemberton after he withdrew his petition seeking a reversal of his conviction on homicide. Pemberton may have simply withdrawn his petition in anticipation of a minimal 6 year sentence.

September 11 is declared Dictator's Day in Ilocos Norte

Wazzup Pilipinas!

With 198 affirmative votes, 8 negative, and one abstention, the lower chamber approved House Bill No. 7137 declaring September 11 as “President Ferdinand Edralin Marcos Day” in Ilocos Norte.

Thieves honoring the biggest thief in Philippine history? FTW he was even in the Guiness Records!

It's like rubbing salt into the wounds of martial law victims. Mga hijo at hija de tupa! Letse! Bwisit kayo.

Here we go again, another stupid idea coming from our elected officials. This can only create divisiveness among Filipino people. It’s more fun in the Philippines!

What is happening to our country  celebrating the plunderer of the Philippines? WTF! What values are we teaching our youth and students?! We condone criminal acts of plunder by celebrating the life of a plunderer and dictator? This nation is hopeless.

Dictator's Day! Only in the Philippines....oops Ilocos Norte. JUICE COLORED.

These is a shameless Congress. The other time, it was to shut down ABS-CBN and to send thousands of employees home jobless with no opportunity to find other source of work to support their families. Now, they want to honor the man who looted the nation’s treasury and caused our nation to become the waste basket of Asia. By this bill, they are helping re-write history of the scum who committed brutal crimes against his own people just to hang on to his reign of terror. What has Congress become? Another commodity that the Marcos’ ill-gotten wealth can buy? Please do not add any more injury to hurts of all the victims of Marcos brutal dictatorship!

The way we keep honoring disgraced officials like this, hindi na nakakagulat bakit sumisikat ulit ang mga Marcos. Instead of his reign being seen as a dark chapter in the nation's history, it will instead be seen as gray. The effect of historical revisionism is taking place....the power of the North...Ilocos to be specific.

Disgusting this thief and murderer became a hero because of Duterte and his thugs.

This is how this government twist history and make plunderers look like a hero.

There are so many good past president who truly care about our country and its people much more deserving than Marcos. What a nice way to celebrate 9-11. We're celebrating a dictator the same day when the one of the worst terrorist attack happened in America.

For crying out loud. He didn't even deserve to be buried at the Libingan Ng mga Bayani. How can we even honor this man when he plundered the country that resulted years of poverty and hardships to Filipinos?. Until we learn history well, put it in our minds and hearts, our country will suffer the same perdition again and again because of evil heartless greedy and shameless politicians.

We have a holiday wherein we celebrate the EDSA revolution that ended the Marcos dictatorship yet we also have a holiday honoring that same dictator.

Philippines numbah wan!

NYC Chairperson Ryan Enriquez and His Controversial Billboard

Wazzup Pilipinas!

National Youth Commission Chairperson Ryan Enriquez on a billboard along Marcos Highway. The billboard, showing his face along a few basic health protocols, drew flak online for its “inappropriateness.”

Enriquez clarified that he paid for the ad out of his own pocket.

COA in its 2019 report released August 24, slams the National Youth Commission (NYC) for incurring huge expenses – from trainings in 5-star hotels to pricey Filipiniana costumes – despite having little to show for it in terms of project performance.

And now this:

A billboard lease in EDSA for example can cost your company somewhere in the vicinity of P300,000.00 to P500,000.00 per month. A 30-second TV commercial costs around P500,000.00 to P800,000.00 and a small image ad in a local newspaper would be somewhere around P20,000.00 to P50,000.00.

Lol he's definitely running in the next elections. If he is running for higher office I will not vote for him.

“So young yet so corrupt!”- bata pa lang, bulok na ang klase ng pamumuno.

It's too obvious he's using the billboard to promote himself which obviously manifests that he has future political ambitions.

A billboard that predominantly features the "face" rather than the actual message the agency was "trying" to convey while young people continue to be victims of mass layoffs and experience struggles in online classes. Kapal!

I'm squinting my eyes because of the small texts of the basic health protocols but mainly on the big *ss face of the nyc usec with the big *ss bold letter of his name. Yeah, wipe it, we got the message that you are a trapo.

You can't even see the basic health protocols reminders , all i see he’s face that has nothing to do with the reminders, do we really need his face bigger than the reminders, pasok mga DDS.

Early campaign moves. EPAL!

Image projection is obviously the primary intention. and the reminders on safety and health protocols referenced to the Covid-19 pandemic is merely being used as instrument. He is so young, yet so brazenly corrupt already.

This guy still doesn't know what true leadership is all about. Its not about you, its about the people you're supposed to serve...

Weird way to announce/show to the people WHO NOT TO VOTE FOR NEXT ELECTION!

We see you're following Bong's style of having his face plastered in big ads! Welcome NYC to the big leagues! Next ka na maapoint sa mga big financial institutions kasi you have the courage to be yourself. To continue the Filipino politician tradition of getting away for corruption. Congrats in advance!

The government is the corrupt's ticket to living luxuriously at the expense of taxpayers' money... COA could only report but could not retrieve or force them to give back the over expenses including those going into the deep pockets of these crooks. Thick-faced & morally downright SOB's!

Enriquezs claims the funds to create this billboard came from his own pocket? Would you believe him?

LOOK: The controversial billboard on COVID-19 protective measures bearing the face of National Youth Commission chairperson Ryan Enriquez was taken down after the official faced backlash online.

“Ang objective ko lang naman ay makatulong para sa information dissemination, lalo na ngayon nabawasan ang major network na nagbabalita. Ang pagkakamali ko, anlaki ng mukha ko, pasensya na,” he says.

"Tinanggal na ang nasabing billboard para sa kapayapaan ng lahat, salamat at pasensya na," he adds.
