DOTr Secretary Tugade’s Name Used in Illegal Activities

On the use of DOTr Secretary Tugade’s name in illegal activities

The Department of Transportation (DOTr) warns the public against individuals who continue to use the name of DOTr Secretary Arthur P. Tugade in illegal activities.

Based on reports received by the DOTr, a certain individual allegedly claiming to be Secretary Tugade’s cousin has been disrupting lines and calling names for faster processing of payments and documents at the Land Transportation Office (LTO) Novaliches District Office.

An investigation is already ongoing on this illegal activity.

Please be informed that Secretary Tugade does not tolerate corrupt practices through the unauthorized use of his name, among others.

The DOTr condemns acts such as this, and will closely coordinate with proper authorities to provide appropriate action to the said individual behind this unlawful activity.

The DOTr equally requests the public to be cautious and vigilant, and report to the proper authorities any suspicious individuals or activities wherein Secretary Tugade’s name or any official’s of this Department and its attached agencies is being used.

SPEECH CUP 2019

Speech Cup is an annual speech competition to all high schools within the country. As the University of the Philippine’s Speech Communication Association’s (UP SPECA) flagship event, Speech Cup endeavors to raise awareness among the youth relevant issues of today. Speech Cup serves as a platform for the youth to creatively express themselves through art, namely recitation and individual oral interpretation.

The event aims to (1) promote the significance and power of speech communication, (2) foster youth involvement in the creative and equally challenging pursuits of performance art and rhetoric, (3) provide an avenue for self-expression and social responsiveness, and (4) propel the Filipinization of Speech Communication.
