Pangilinan Unveils New Logos of PLDT and Smart

Wazzup Pilipinas!

On June 13, 2016 at Makati Shangri-La Hotel, PLDT & Smart Chairman & CEO Manuel V. Pangilinan officially unveils the new logos of PLDT and Smart, reflecting the Group's digital pivot and shift to data-driven services.

PLDT and Smart's logos appear similar, except PLDT is red and Smart is green. It symbolizes the convergence of the two brands, combining fixed and wireless technologies to better serve customers. They are shaped like a triangle, which supposedly represents the companies' business pillars: exceptional people, meaningful innovations and valuable customers.

There is a huge difference with having a strong brand image and actually communicating that brand image. In this case, nobody understands it even with their rationale.

From the brand perspective, it is indeed stronger than the previous logo. From the creative perspective, this is so common and the shape and color combination have a resemblance too. It just so happens that the green and red have meaning when you combine them with the triangle. Final verdict, it's noit the best logo of the brands but it works somehow.

We really don't care about your logos! The real change we want is for you to make your data service faster. That's what we're asking from you guys and not changing the logos or something trivial. What good are the new logos if you still have the same bad service and infrastructure?

So in the coming days, we hope you fulfill your promise of providing betetr service and to moderate your greed since you're huge already anyway, you don't need to grow bigger and it's time you share your blessings to your customers who have been suffering from the duopoly of these telcos.

ToyCon Philippines 2016: When Toy Conventions Become Too Expensive for Real Kids

Wazzup Pilipinas!
"Toycon this year is so messed up. Got 2 VIPs for me and my wife, expecting that we will feel like "VIPs". Unfortunately, we didn't feel special at all.

Day 1 was chaos. The supposed 11am early access to the event didn't happen. 10am line outside, 11am registration, 1230 start to go inside. the staff don't know what to do. They were just standing without a clue what their role is to the event. Exhibits are not yet complete.
(The Voltes V statue was still incomplete with only two legs on display)

Day 2 During photo ops/ autograph signing, nobody knows what line they are in. Some people who are not VIP or Legendary are
also in the line. This should be the job of the staff, to make crowd control and organize everything (bring a megaphone if needed and put more barriers, have a staff meeting before the event, just have a plan). The staff are like ducklings all together waiting for their mother duck to give them orders. We didn't get to have our photo taken with Hodor because we got cut off.
Overall, this years Toycon is a mess. Its more of a Popcon. If you are a Funko pop collector, this is perfect for you. You can buy exclusive pops at SRPs. But if you are into the guests, you should stay inside the convention from opening to closing because nobody knows what is the REAL time they will come. If you are a toy collector, just go to Greenhills because there's more toys there to choose from.
This is just a learning experience for us fans, for the event organizers, and for the staff. If the system will improve then it's a good thing. But if they will not learn from their mistakes and improve, this will be our family's last Toycon." - Evans Nolasco
The Philippine Toys, Hobbies and Collectibles Convention, or ToyCon,organized by Collectibles Unlimited, aimed to hit hard this year with the most anticipated gathering of toy distributors, gamers, pop memorabilia collectors and cosplay enthusiasts this side of the planet. However, there seems to be a lot of complaints from the attendees this year who claimed they did  not get their money's worth.

With so many complaining mostly about the pricey tickets or expensive event passes, and how it was probably made that high because of the additional guests, which sadly made it more like a Popcon rather than a Toycon.

The Mutya ng Pilipinas Organization promotes “Beauty Tourism” within Asia and West Pacific with the direct and key participation of the Overseas Filipino Communities, this being a distinct component of its National Pageant Event.

The Organization is motivated and inspired by its guiding thrust to assist in promoting Tourism, Social Responsibility, Fashion, and Beauty pageantry -- a combination which differentiates itself from other similar pageants. It engages in worthwhile endeavors that will enable itself to achieve and make a contribution to promote the Philippines as a major and revered tourism destination. It also intends to show everything that is beautiful about the Philippines, giving respect and value to the word ‘Filipina with a social conscience’, that is … what it can do to make the Filipina a meaningful and responsive social well- being. Beauty is also synonymous to Fashion, and should be made known that the Filipina is a fashionable person and makes therefore the Philippines a cosmopolitan and fashion center in the greater Asia Pacific.

The Mutya ng Pilipinas National Pageant Event serves as a vehicle to promote everything that is beautiful in the Filipina and the Philippines. Over the years, select Overseas Filipino Communities have been formidable partners of Mutya ng Pilipinas through long term arrangements, with them sending their delegates to participate in its annual pageant event. These Filipino Communities include: Northern and Southern California, Nevada, Arizona, Midwest, the East Coast, Hawaii, Canada, Australia, Germany, the United Kingdom, and Scandinavia.

The winners of the Mutya ng Pilipinas Pageant are sent to international pageant events, such as Miss Tourism International, Miss Tourism Queen of the Year, and Miss Intercontinental, and the Miss Asia Pacific International. Mutya ng Pilipinas, Inc. is ably supported by major partners, and alliances among select Television networks.
