Sisigaw ka sa Sulit Sarap Sisig Silog Meals at Rufo's Famous Tapa

Wazzup Pilipinas!

There's more than just tapa at Rufo's Famous Tapa restaurant!

You can now find additional Sisig meals other than pork  or chicken with the addition of bangus and beef varieties. Each meal is now available in a combo package that they call their "Sisigaw ka sa Sulit Sarap Sisig Silog" comes with garlic rice, fried egg and prawn flakes, for only P89 each. You may also add P10 only to get an additional iced tea for your drink.

My blogger friends and I were invited to try out the four Sisig Silog varieties at their Paseo Center, Paseo De Roxas branch, and were even served their iconic famous tapa with the sauce, and other viands like the Chopsuey and Tokwa't Baboy, , plus their three desserts namely Leche Plan, Creamy Fruit Fiesta and the Black Sambo.

No less than the owner himself, Paul izon Reyes, met with us to share the inspirational story of Rufo's which now has more than 20 branches nationwide plus a lot more scheduled to open soon. The restaurant is open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, and accepts franchising for interested entrepreneurs who are interested to join the food industry.

Rocco Nacino, one of the popular actors in the Philippines, has ventured into the business by owning a branch located in Timog Avenue in Quezon City. The branch is said to be the biggest in floor space among all Rufo's Famous Tapa restaurants.

It's a bit difficult to distinguish the difference among the four varieties of the Sisig Silog due to the similar serving presentation. But you'll easily see that the darkest shade of meat is the beef and the lightest is the fish (Bangus). But don't worry, it's no longer a headache once you've tasted them.

I was not surprised when they said that pork remains to be the most in demand Sisig dish, since many are just accustomed to expecting pork as the main ingredient of their Sisig. But be sure to try all of them and you may find another favorite or two.

We know Sisig is one of the most popular appetizer and bar chow or "pulutan" dish which originated in Pampanga. With the intent not to waste the meat portion of the pig head, it's originally made from chopped pig face and ears and added with onions, liver, and spices crackling on a sizzling plate, plus topped with an egg.

However, many have already reinvented the Sisig to include other ingredients aside from the traditional pork, and now Rufo's Famous Tapa has included not just one but four varieties of this dish into its proud menu.

I am more inclined to like the Bangus Sisig Silog for being healthier but am being urged by my taste buds to vote for the Beef Sisig Silog.

Other famous Filipino dishes that's available at Rufo's Famous Tapa restaurant are home-style Pinoy dishes just like how mom used to make namely Pork Sinigang, Boneless Bangus, Bulalo, Chicken Tinola, Pinoy Beef Steak, and Pork Liempo. It also has traditional American food  done the Filipino way like their Spaghetti Bola-bola, Tapa Pizza, Beef Tapa Sandwich, Sizzling Crispy Chicken and Rufo's Burger. Of course, they also have specialty meals  like the Pork Chops, Liempo, Chicken Barbecue, Pork Barbecue, Lumpiang Shanghai, T-Bone Steak, plus a few more on the list.

Rufo's is celebrating its 32nd anniversary this year and has won two prestigious awards namely "Best in Franchise Support" and "Fastest Growing Franchise" in 2013's Entrepreneur Magazine Franchise Awards.

  1. Certainly looks delicious and very affordable! Sisig is one of my favorite Filipino dish of all time and I look forward to eating it every time I visit a Filipino store. Something that I always want to discuss to my students in custom term papers.
