2016 Outlook, ASEAN Integration To Be Discussed In Upcoming Real Estate Summit

Wazzup Pilipinas!

The ASEAN integration’s impact on the local real estate industry, the market’s 2016 outlook, and the government’s public–private partnership projects—these are just some of the key topics to be discussed in the upcoming 4th Asia Pacific Real Estate Investment Summit (APREIS), to be held at Solaire Resort & Casino on October 22.

The summit will gather in one venue some 300 professionals from leading property developers, funds and asset managers, and investors for a day of networking to interact and share their views on various issues affecting the industry—with the goal of promoting and strengthening the Philippine real estate sector.

Guests expected to grace the summit include Trade and Industry secretary Gregory Domingo, who will discuss the upcoming ASEAN integration and its impact on the local real estate sector; and CBRE chairman Rick Santos, who will share his outlook for the Philippines’ real estate industry in 2016.

Meanwhile, Macquarie Capital’s Michael Chan will tackle private capital financing for large-scale real estate projects, and Cossette Canilao, executive director of Philippine Public–Private Partnership Center, will discuss the transformation of Philippine infrastructure through successful PPP delivery.

Aside from these individual talks, the 4th APREIS has also invited industry leaders and experts for a series of panel discussions. Lamudi Philippines managing director Jacqueline van den Ende will lead a discussion on the emerging trends in Philippine real estate, whose panelists include Al Legaspi of Ayala Land Hotels and Resorts, Henry Co of First Philippine Industrial Park, Joseph Ramil Lombos of DMCI Homes, Lars Wittig of Regus Philippines, Michael McCullough of KMC MAG Group, and Lourdes Alano of Robinsons Land.

Atty. Francisco Ed. Lim, a senior partner at ACCRA Law, will then lead a discussion on Philippine REITs, and the panelists include Commissioner Ephyro Luis Amatong of the Securities and Exchange Commission, Atty. Roel Refran of the Philippine Stock Exchange, Angelo Scasserra of Credit Suisse, Jaime Ysmael of Ayala Land, Peter Verwer of the Asia Pacific Real Estate Association, and Simon Clark of KPMG.

Noted architect and urban planner Felino Palafox Jr., meanwhile, will lead a discussion on Philippine township developments with fellow architect Joselito Luna of Ayala Land, Ma. Socorro Aragon-Gobio of Robinsons Land, and Sigrid Zialcita of Cushman & Wakefield.

Finally, Michael de Guzman, managing director Macquarie Capital Securities, will lead a discussion on challenges and lessons learned from the government’s PPP experiences. The panel will include Eleazar Ricote of the Philippine PPP Center, John Francia of AC Infrastructure Holdings, and Karim Garcia of Metro Pacific Investments.
