My Fun Interview with the ADDLIB Dance Crew: Featuring L.A. Bagtas

Wazzup Pilipinas!

To continue with our interviews with the ADDLIB Dance Crew, we now feature L.A. Bagtas, another ADDLIB member who will be acting as instructor for the upcoming 2014 ADDLIB Summer Dance Workshops scheduled on March 27 up to April 25, 2014.

Last time we interviewed Elgin Bez, described as the Soul Master of The LAB 3, and learned a lot about the history of the ADDLIB Dance Crew from him, among many other information he shared with us.

The two, along with a few more instructors coming from the dance crew, will be conducting the workshops at the Blue Light Dance Studio located at the 4th level of the Forab Building along Kamuning Road in Quezon City. The students will finalize with a grand recital and a dance concert at the SM Skydome on May 9, 2014.

Below are my questions to L.A. Bagtas and his quite short but surprisingly awesome answers:

Q: Who is your mentor in dancing?
A: My kuya. We hail from a family of dancers so my brother influenced me in trying out dancing as well.

Q: What age did you start dancing?
A: 15. I started with street dance then I took up ballet, contemporary jazz and tap dancing when I was   18.

Q: When did you join Addlib?
A: I joined Addlib a year after it was formed. I was part of the Metropolitan Dance Masters before I joined the group.

Q: Who is your idol in dancing?
A: Michael Jackson! (Heck yeah!)

Q: What do you teach?
A: I teach nYOU class. It is a fusion of classical and street dance with a self-develop style.

Q: Oh.. I want to learn that.. When will be your workshop?
A: The Lab 3 Summer Workshop will start on March 27 up to April 25. I have a 3:30 PM class every Tuesday and Thursday and 2:30PM class every Monday and Wednesday. Hope I could see you there!

Q: You bet I will! By the way, are you working already or still studying?
A: I’m still a student. I’m taking up Special Education in Far Eastern University. Mostly I juggle my time to school and dancing.

Q: Wow! Now, that’s a tough thing to do.. really an inspiring story of yours.. Last question, are you really this serious normally?
A: (L.A. laughing) hindi naman..

Want to watch him dance? Here’s a sample of his great dance moves:

More interviews of other members, as well as photos and videos of the ADDLIB Dance Crew, coming soon as we tag along with them during the Summer Dance Workshops, and maybe find some of your readers as among the students in their workshops. Now that would be cool!

Watch out for more of the ADDLIB Dance Crew really soon!!!
