Paris, France : Eiffel Tower Adventure

Paris, France!...and of course, the primary target tourist attraction to look for is the Eiffel Tower!

The Eiffel Tower, or the "metal asparagus", as some Parisians snidely called it, was named after its designer, Gustave Eiffel.

I was totally inspired as history comes alive right before my eyes. I will forever cherish the memories.

I journeyed via Metro Train to Paris to witness the splendor of the grand monuments. The Paris Metro (subway) and RER (express interurban train) have stations all throughout Central Paris. Paris airports are accessible via the RER train system, rather than the Paris Metro.

The very famous EIFFEL TOWER of Paris

Erected in 1889 as the entrance arch to the 1889 World's Fair, it has become both a global cultural icon of France and one of the most recognizable structures in the world. The tower is the tallest structure in Paris and the most-visited paid monument in the world.

There are three levels that are open to the public. The entrance to the 1st level is included in all admission tickets, though the top level closes in heavy wind. You can either take the lifts (east, west and north pillars), or, if you’re feeling fit and ready for a challenge, you can take the stairs in the south pillar up to the 2nd platform. But believe me when I say, it's a real challenge!

The walk from ground level to the first level is over 300 steps, as is the walk from the first to the second level. The third and highest level is accessible only by lift - stairs exist but they are not usually open for public use. Both the first and second levels feature restaurants. The two restaurants are: Le 58 tour Eiffel, on the first floor 311 ft (95 m) above sea level; and the Le Jules Verne, a gastronomical restaurant on the second floor, with a private lift.

"You couldn't possibly visit Paris without seeing the Eiffel Tower. Even if you do not want to visit this world famous structure, you will see its top from all over Paris. The tower rises 300 meters tall (984 ft)"
