Acne Can't Be Cured But It Can Be Controlled Especially With Proactiv

Wazzup Pilipinas!

Acne may be a very common sight for many of us. It is a human disease that many under-estimate. We all went to the stage when we were bothered by acne, and some of us even had the worst kind, having acne occupying almost our entire face and even all over our body. While some were lucky enough to have only a few coming out to tease us but still acne was there as a threat to a flawless facial skin.

The disease is characterized by areas of skin that may turn scaly red, with blackheads and whiteheads, pinheads, large papules, pimples, and possibly scarring. It affects mostly skin in the face, the upper part of the chest, and the back.

Acne is common, complex and chronic, and NOT curable. But it is controllable.

Acne must be taken seriously. It is a common misconception that it can be cured. The only way to deal with acne is to manage, control and prevent it as you outgrow it. And of course, to use Proactiv
Solution.

X Means Love : A Campaign to Raise Cervical Cancer Awareness

Wazzup Pilipinas!

Cervical cancer claims lives in an alarming rate! Not everyone knows that it can be prevented, and the discovery of the cancer only normally occurs at a stage when it is already at its worst.

We really need to run a campaign to raise the awareness of the people especially the women who are the most number of affected by the cancer.

I have heard of a few of my relatives that died of this dreaded cervical cancer so I am in full support of all campaigns that would aggressively inform people of how to fight it.
GSK, in partnership with ABS-CBN Foundation, BayaniJuan, and local medical societies, Bravehearts and Healthway, launches new campaign to raise cervical cancer awareness.

A new campaign was recently launched to increase awareness of cervical cancer that claims the lives of many Filipino women . Cervical cancer is the second most common cancer among women in the country, with an estimated 4,800 mothers, daughters, wives, and girl friends diagnosed each year. Every day, there are 12 Filipino women who die from this disease1, which is preventable through regular screening and vaccination.

Enchanted Farm Cafe from Gawad Kalinga

Wazzup Pilipinas!

I got an invite to meetup at a place called the Enchanted Farm Cafe that is said to be located in Commonwealth, Quezon City.

Now, I remember the same cafe that we went a few months ago. This was where I bought a Bayani Brew drink to quench my thirst while on the road on our way to the Gawad Kalinga Enchanted Farm in Bulacan.

They sell many interesting products at the Enchanted Farm Cafe whose portion of the income or revenues goes to the Gawad Kalinga programs.

The Enchanted Farm Cafe is a story of faith, passion and love of country. It is a project originally launched by Gawad Kalinga Center for Social Innovation (CSI) to bridge Gawad Kalinga Enchanted Farm in Angat, Bulacan to the city market. Its original concept was to test social enterprise products and to create a platform where GK Enchanted Farm’s organic vegetables could be sold.

Boundaries Can Be Defeated!

Orpheus and Eurydice (Greek Mythology)
credits: to the owner

Wazzup Pilipinas!

Are you fond of Greek Mythology? If yes then you must have known the sad love story of Orpheus and Eurydice. The two lovers who tried to defeat the boundaries of death.

If you haven't heard of the story yet then let me give you a summary.

Orpheus was the son of Apollo and he was a very gifted musician whose music could charm mortals, animals and the trees. Eurydice was the wife of Orpheus, the two of them showed how much they love each other, that even death is can never separate the two.

One day Eurydice was wandering with the nymphs. A shepherd named Aristaeus attempted to make advance towards Eurydice. Because of fear Eurydice ran off. While running she was bitten by a snake and died.

Being so grief stricken Orpheus played his sorrows in his music which was heard by gods and men.Orpheus then came up with an idea and went to the underworld. He played music that made Hades, king of the underworld, decide to give Eurydice back to Orpheus. But in one certain condition. And that is to never look back to Eurydice unless they are already out of the underworld.

Sinead O' Connor Writes Miley Cyrus an Open Letter

Wazzup Pilipinas!

Irish singer Sinead O' Connor, the singer who infamously ripped a photo of Pope John Paul II on National television (Saturday Night Live) calling the Church as the "real enemy", has an open letter for Miley Cyrus.

You really gotta love or hate her insanity, but there is no doubt that her songs are great and this one act of reaching out to the 20-year old singer Miley Cyrus deserves a praise.

Wrecking Ball's controversial video was inspired by Sinead O' Connor's song Nothing Compares 2 U. She said she was compelled to warn Cyrus that she is being "pimped" by the pop industry.

Now who among our Filipino singers would do the same act of goodness for the new young singers out there that already have the tendency to get lost in the wild side?..and further inspired to follow the crazy path of the former Disney teen star. Think skimpy outfits, too much revealing cleavage, skin-tight body hugging outfits, etc.

Below is the full text of O'Connor's blogpost:

Ulm: Method and Design Exhibit at the Yuchengco Museum

Wazzup Pilipinas!

The ulm: method and design | ulm school of design exhibition focuses on research into, and visualization of, the "Ulm Model," exploring its effects up to the present day. Using large-format photos, text panels, an illustrated synopsis, models, graphic works, draft designs, products, a "tower of books," and videos, it shows the great variety of intellectual approaches, procedures, and results of the school's work.

From its existence in 1953 through 1968, the Ulm School of Design was one of the most important contemporary design academies. It saw itself as an international institution for teaching, research, and development in the field of design. Students from many different countries were drawn to Ulm, attracted not only by the interdisciplinary aspects of the training program, but also by the names of founders and teachers. The special methodology used in Ulm is still internationally influential today in design teaching. Known as the "Ulm Model," it has helped define what it means to be a professional industrial designer.

Yuchengco Museum invites you to the exhibit Ulmer Modelle | Modelle Nach Ulm (Ulm: Method and Design | Ulm School of Design) on Wednesday, October 16, until November15 at 6:00 p.m. at the Yuchengco Museum located at the G/F RCBC Plaza, Corner Ayala & Sen. Gil J. Puyat Avenues, Makati.

Stay tuned for updates on the October 16 Art Walk and other exhibit programs.
