Epson Alerts Public On Importance Of Projector Color Brightness

Wazzup Pilipinas!

Epson Philippines Corporation (EPC) held a Media Technology Briefing aimed to drive public awareness on a global metric that could help customers get the most out of projectors they plan to buy.

Epson’s technology briefing focused on the Color Light Output (CLO) metric that determines Color Brightness in projectors. CLO (or Color Brightness) is a scientific global standard that measures the luminance of the colors Red, Green, and Blue. The metric was specifically developed to measure significant differences in color brightness performance among different projector models and brands to provide consumers with fair and accurate information.

Most users determine a projector’s capability to successfully present vibrant images with the projector’s brightness, measured in lumens. In general, the higher the number of lumens, the brighter the projector. However, the widely-used lumens specification measures only white light, and according to a recent study from TFC Info Associates, more than 70 percent of projector buyers do not know this fact.¹

Napoles, Malacanang and the Pork Barrel Conspiracy Theories

Wazzup Pilipinas!
"These allegations merits a PUBLIC SHARE on my timeline not for any other reasons other than knowing the whole TRUTH about the matter. The article presented a lot of questions that needs to be answered and as of this moment there have been no attempts to provide a satisfactory 'no bullshit' answers to all the QUESTIONS!" - Raine De Ocampo

NAPOLES HAD LUNCH AT PALACE BEFORE SHE SURRENDERED TO PNOY
By Francisco Kit Tatad | Opinion | Manila Standard Today

(Personal Note: As it appears, their battery of online trolls - the same ones who attack me each time I have a column that is critical of the President - have succeeded in blocking the link to this article, flagging it as having malicious/ inappropriate content. How can the link to a Manila Standard Today article be blocked from being posted/shared on Facebook? Is someone afraid because the truth is starting to come out? Solution: Copy-paste. Please share so these trolls' efforts will be for naught.)

Contrary to what the nation and the rest of the world have been led to believe, President Benigno S. Aquino III spent several hours in “closed- door conversations” with Janet Lim Napoles, the suspected mastermind in the alleged P10-billion pork barrel scam involving selected opposition lawmakers, before showcasing to the media her formal “surrender” to “the only person she trusted,” on the evening of August 28, 2013, authoritative sources have revealed.

This incredible detail was completely left out of Malacanang’s official statement, which had sought to present Aquino’s meeting with Napoles as no more than a 10-minute affair that ended an otherwise fruitless manhunt of a celebrated fugitive from justice, and was witnessed by several Cabinet members and duly recorded for posterity by the Malacanang press office.

Loob Labas : A Group Exhibit

Wazzup Pilipinas!

LOOB | LABAS focuses on the use of man-made found and natural found materials. The artists tackle themes “within” and “without”(outside), such as self, childhood, home, community, environment and the natural world around us. Works are laid out within the China Hall of the GT-Toyota Asian Cultural Center, the Rear Garden, and extending to the building’s rooftop.

Using a combination of natural and manmade found objects, Reuben Ramas Cañete, art writer and professor at the Asian Center, creates a reflection of the cyclic aspect of existence: from germination, growth, decay and death, to rebirth, using leaves & branches, paper, and charcoal in his work “Sarcophagus”. For his installation work on the rooftop, he lays out a directional sign for magnetic north with the lingling-o motif—a prehistoric Philippine fertility symbol, with painted concrete tile, white pebbles and lights, to comment on contemporary regional problems.

Jake Salvador, a former photojournalist for the Manila Bulletin, burns plywood scraps to transform them into weapons of his childhood. Again using wood, he playfully turns dead tree trunks into what he calls “happycons,” providing rest to the weary beside living trees.

Miley Cyrus : Twerking Her Way to the Bank on a Wrecking Ball

Wazzup Pilipinas!

So which broke first? The video record or your heart? Well, I think I got hit hard by the wrecking ball and my mind is still filled with all the twerking!

After the VMA's, I knew the next step was nudity. It was the only thing left for her to do to get attention, and it didn't take her long. I just don't think she's a good singer, but who is listening for any vocal talent? As for her body, she is 20 and that helps a lot, but she is kind of running out of anywhere to go next in videos. Now the next step is ....to do a p0rn0 with James Deen?

My guess is, for her next step, after the CD has run its course..... will be toning it down. That's the smart play, and the girl is smart. Let the haters hate... she's laughing (and twerking) all the way to the bank.

The Best of Anime 2013 : Cosplayers Here, There and Everywhere!!!

Wazzup Pilipinas!

"Cosplay , a portmanteau of the English words costume and play, is an activity in which participants wear costumes and accessories to represent a specific character or idea from a work of fiction or sources that include manga, anime, comic books, video games, and films. Any entity from the real or virtual world that lends itself to dramatic interpretation may be taken up as a subject. Inanimate objects are given anthropomorphic forms and it is not unusual to see genders switched, with women playing male roles and vice versa. There is also a subset of cosplay culture centered on sex appeal, with cosplayers specifically choosing characters that are known for their attractiveness and/or revealing costumes." -Wikipedia excerpt
The gang was all there! They were all so eager and excited to dress up as their favorite anime characters... complete with the moves, the pose, and the attitude!

All male, female and everyone else in between (lol) were flaunting their fabulous outfits depicting popular anime characters that have obviously made an impression on them. Many outfits were customized to fit the cosplayers perfectly and a lot of accessories like weapons, jewelries and other props were amazingly crafted just for events like these.

There were a lot who really spent a fortune in their outfits all for the sake of their love for anime!

Blog Reviews : Blatant Honest-to-Goodness Versus Sugar-Coated Half-Truths

Wazzup Pilipinas!

SURVEY, SURVEY lang pag may time:

http://www.wazzuppilipinas.com/2013/08/tv-shows-promoting-superstitions-and.html

The article above was solicited out from discussions among netizens. I'm sure even the celebrities and artists will agree with the article...They most probably just keep silent because they are earning well from the opportunity.

I felt everything in the article was an honest reflection of the many TV shows sprouting like mushrooms and sort of dumbing the masses with low-budget silliness. Are we making our blog a threat to those concerned or involved in low-quality productions? Are we afraid we are going to lose patronage of our readership, or even sponsorship (no more invites?),  if we write a hate article for something we truly hate? or should people commend us for being frank and vulgar in our reviews?

We would like to issue an informal statement for those who are questioning why we are posting  negativity in our blog.

Crowd Favorite 'Ikaw' Interpreted by Jonalyn Viray was 2013 ASOP TV Grand Final's “Song of the Year”

Wazzup Pilipinas!

'Ikaw', a crowd favorite song of praise composed by Boy Christopher Ramos Jr., bested 12 finalists to win “Song of the Year” award in this year's ASOP TV Music Festival Grand Finals Night while Jonalyn Viray received the “Best Interpreter Award” for the same song.

Ramos is a professional composer whose awards-worthy “Ito ang Buhay Ko” won in the Best Theme Song category of the 2011 Asian Television Awards. Viray, on the other hand, is a 2006 WCOPA gold medalist known for her power vocals.

Meanwhile, RJ Jimenez's “I Am Grateful”, earned the first-runner up prize while Christian Obar 's “Lagi Kang Nariyan” received second-runner up prize, and Paul Hildawa's “You'll See Miracles” was third-runner up. 34th Manila International Book Fair : It's Raining Book Authors!

Wazzup Pilipinas!

When you see a guy who forms the letter C with his hand, you'll know immediately that he is motivational speaker and book author Chinkee Tan. Well.... aside from the huge name on his jacket that says Chink+, but only if you were observant enough,  his face is just too familiar not to be recognized by real book lovers.

Chinkee Tan was just one of the famous Filipino writers that were present at the 34th Manila International Book Fair now being held at the SMX Convention Center until the 15th of September.

Congratulations to Primetrade Asia and all the rest of the organizers and other groups responsible for organizing another successful book fair which was able to bring to the book-loving public several amazing books at discounted and sale prices, plus a meet and greet photo ops with our favorite book authors.

What I appreciate the most is the opportunity to meet a lot of popular and well-respected authors all in one roof, most of them guesting a booth all at the same day (Whew!). Some booths even have an hourly schedule of book authors visiting and signing books for their fans (OMG!). I wanted to personally see the other authors for myself  as well so I was going back and forth from one boot to another (starstruck and greedy....hehehe).

Being part of media, I get to have an excuse to ogle and lurk at the popular personalities and impressive showcase of books and booths without people thinking I'm some kind of pervert or obsessed fan.

34th Manila International Book Fair : Awesome Second Day

Wazzup Pilipinas!

Apparently, you'll find more than just books at the 34th Manila International Book Fair. There were also an awesome selection of other educational stuff that could help in keeping up with the educational requirements and expectations of the digital (or more advanced in technology) generation.

Even the cute little youngsters are so challenging to teach and train so it requires more creative efforts on the part of adults to deliver our ideas successfully so that they could absorb what has been taught. We are not expecting a hundred percent but a good figure above the passing grade would be nice.

The good old-fashioned and traditional story-telling could still work for the little ones - especially if coming from energetic story-tellers with fancy assorted voices and exaggerated body gestures. Add to that the facial expressions that could easily make you smile, shed a tear, get you furious, scare you to death or make you wanna laugh out loud.

But everyone has probably realized by now that as soon as these young kids learn how to use a TV remote control or operate a computer, (or maybe an iPad or an Android tablet), then you'll be in for a mighty difficult challenge of convincing them to let go.
