Globe PrePaid GoSakto : Create Your OIwn Promo

Globe Telecom redefines prepaid as it brings another new and game-changing experience to its subscribers by allowing them to make their own promo the way they want to.

Introducing Globe Prepaid GoSakto, the first and only service in the country that allows prepaid subscribers to create and customize a prepaid promo that fits their needs, budget, and lifestyle.

Another industry-shaking innovation from Globe, GoSakto empowers prepaid subscribers to design their own promo according to what they need, recognizing the fact that customers have different call, text and surfing needs. With GoSakto, customers have the flexibility to tailor-fit their prepaid promo based on what they need for the day, week, or month.

To enjoy their GoSakto promo, subscribers first choose what type of promo to avail: call/text/surf, call and text, call and surf, text and surf, or a combination of all.

Once subscribers have chosen their promo, GoSakto further personalizes the experience by letting them select the type and number of calls and texts they need. Type of call/text can be within the Globe/TM network or across all networks, while number can be bulk or unlimited. For subscribers who need surfing services, they can also choose between bulk (in megabytes or MBs of data) or unlimited.

There are three (3) easy ways to GoSakto: via mobile phone via*143#, via the Globe website at www.globe.com.ph/gosakto, or via Facebook where they can share their promo to their friends via the GoSakto page on the social networking site. GoSakto even allows subscribers to name their created promo, as well as let their Facebook friends register to the same promo, creating a community of GoSakto users online.

With GoSakto, subscribers are spared from promo availment barriers such as maintaining balance, capping, and limited price points. A GoSakto promo is available for as low as P7, and can co-exist with another promo, giving subscribers more value for their money.

Innovation is what drives the company’s prepaid segment to flourish and grow despite a challenging market. In 2010, Globe Prepaid launched SuperAllTxt20, a breakthrough all-network offer that allowed subscribers to break barriers and connect with their circle regardless of mobile networks. It strengthened its All-Network and Unlimited services, bundling all hero offers with all-network texts and data. It also responded to the growing demand for mobile browsing services by giving subscribers free access to Facebook and Google.

As of end-2012, Globe Prepaid subscribers reached 16.4 million, up 6% from previous year despite a highly-challenging prepaid market. Gross additions posted a quarterly-high of 3.1 million in the fourth quarter, 14% above third quarter’s level of 2.7 million on the back of value-for-money offers, innovative unlimited promos, and competitively-priced international services. Net incremental subscribers substantially grew in the fourth quarter registering at almost 300,000 compared to the previous quarter with only 33,000.

Facebook Announces Free or Discounted Messaging Services, Smart Sole PH Telco in Program

Today at Mobile World Congress 2013, Facebook is announcing partnerships with a select group of mobile operators around the world that will offer free or discounted access to Facebook messaging for their subscribers.

In the Philippines, SMART is the exclusive operator partner for this program.

Facebook is currently the most popular social network in the Philippines.

"We're excited with this partnership as it's in line with our goal of making access to messaging and other mobile Internet services accessible to more Filipinos. We're sure that this is something that our subscribers are looking forward to." said Orlando B. Vea, Chief Wireless Advisor of SMART Communications.

In the coming months, free or discounted access will be available on Messenger for Android, Messenger for iOS, and Facebook for Java which is now optimized for chat. This promotion will be available from more than 18 operators in 14 countries, including SMART in the Philippines.

So who doesn't now Mr. Ube - Jerry Chua, the guy I often see promoting his well-loved "hopia" and "tikoy" business or more like a republic - Eng Bee Tin - Yes! Republic because that's how I think of it being so big a name, and being so popular.

Lately, his son is now hugging the limelight during presscons and interviews but still he remains the identity behind Eng Bee Tin.

Whenever there's a choice, I would always choose Eng Bee Tin brand for my "hopia" and "tikoy" products, and its not only during a Chinese New Year season. It's every time I visit the grocery or supermarket.

Eng Bee Tin is synonymous to quality "hopia" and "tikoy".

Now, there's a new restaurant in Binondo that's already making a name for itself - Mr. Ube Rice and Noodle House.

Larcy's Cupcakery Cafe is located at 178 Aguirre street in BF Homes, Paranaque. That's a bit too far for me because I live in Pasig City. But I happen to be coming from Binondo, Manila that day.

It was too late when I realized I was in for a long trip ahead.

But the long trip ceased to be a disappointment when I finally arrived at the place. It was "majestic" due to the lack of a more appropriate word to describe how remarkable the Larcy's Cupcakerycafe was. It was obviously crafted and designed by a creative mind and a heart full of love not only for Cupcakes - but also for the best things in life.

I Love Milk tea has the best tasting wintermelon flavor compared to other brands. Their Rock Salt Cheese Chocolate is equally good but if given a choice between the two I would still go for the Wintermelon flavor.

I have to agree to a colleague when she said milk tea shops are a dime a dozen. I was not available on that day the owner invited me to attend their grand launch so I asked a fellow blogger to attend it for me.

The concept behind Cocina Juan got its inspiration from the owner's trip at Nicaragua. Nicaragua is the largest country in the Central American isthmus, bordering Honduras to the north and Costa Rica to the south.

At Cocina Juan, the staple sauce is chimichurri for meats like pork or chicken, and sofrito sauce for fish. The rest of Cocina Juan's menu is Tex-Mex, where they use a lot of sweet white sauce and cheese.

The restaurant is located at Maginhawa street at UP Teacher's Village Quezon City - unsurprisingly with a student price for its meals to make it affordable for the students.

Capitalife, Esquire and Buyacar.ph had a joint community outreach program a weeks ago for the benefits of the residents of Barangay Hagdang Bato Itaas in Mandaluyong. It was held at the Plaza Tatlong Bayani and attended by several mothers and their children.

The organizers had a feeding program, provided gifts, as well as sponsored some games with plenty of prizes for the children. There was even an ice cream vendor giving away ice cream to the children. Shirts bearing the Capitalife logo were also given away to both mothers and children.

Its my way of rewarding myself for a job well done, or to celebrate a special occasion, or its what I serve my dearest loved ones and very special honorable guests. It's what I would order for a date especially if I was newly courting the girl.

If I want to impress, I would serve them a top-notch heavy and sumptuous steak meal. It always would feel like a grand celebration whenever steaks are served. It's of the highest level!

If you are around the Rockwell area, then better go visit Bistecca at the Joya building beside Rockwell Powerplant Mall in Makati. Here you are assured of the best premium or Certified Angus Beef (C.A.B.) steak meals.

Somewhere at the East Service Road of Paranaque lies Aryan's Restaurant and Bar. A Family business with a lot of heart with dishes that are surprisingly better than how it looks. I think it is nowhere near other similar restaurants within the vicinity (as I saw none along the way) making it the only ideal place where the neighborhood nearby can bring their family for some great home-made cooking.

Actually, the exact address is at 2152-A East service Road, Paranaque.....and since it was practically our first time to go there, we had to take a taxi so we won't get lost commuting. The address just needs some landmark instructions to help prospective guests on how to get there more conveniently aside from taking a cab.

My favorite dish was the Korean Beef BBQ topped with sesame seeds and the Fish Fillet one above (must eat it with all the topped ingredients to get the full flavorful taste of the dish).

A hefty hearty meal that is fit for the most exquisite taste and huge appetite. You will never taste Mexican food as good as these anywhere else. It's only at Achiote Taqueria located at Rockwell Powerplant Mall.

Tortillas has always been a favorite but the one served to us at Achiote Taqueria just really brought out an appetite out of me. It was completely done, with only the crumbs as left-over for the nachos, devoured until the very last bite. Thank goodness it was the very first dish we had, because the rest of the meals were equally a gastronomical delight.
