Spirit of the Glass 2: The Haunted To Be Shown on November 1

Direk Jose Javier Reyes calls it a "scream fest" because there will be two Pinoy horror movies showing starting on All Saint's Day November 1, of which his movie, Spirit of the Glass 2: The Haunted, top-billed by Christine Reyes, is one of them.

People would realize that Kim Chiu, leading the cast of The Ghost Bride, and directed by Chito Rono, would obviously compete with the audience for the first day of November, but Direk Jose Javier Reyes, both writer and director of the movie, prefers that everyone should support both films. How about you? Would you watch both films or prefer to choose just one? Or probably you would like to watch the second one on the next week after since I'm not so sure many would want to spend their day stuck inside the movie houses.

Spirit of the Glass 2: The Haunted is not a continuation of the previous movie starred by the likes of Rica Peralejo, Marvin Agustin, Drew Arellano, Paolo Contis, Alessandra De Rossi and Dingdong Dantes, but rather a new movie by itself with new casts and story. Surprisingly, this will be former Binibining Pilipinas-Universe 2016 Maxine Medina's first appearance in a movie. You'll know that Pia Wurtzbach has already announced her participation in a Vice Ganda and Daniel Padilla comedy, so it seems Maxine will be seen first as Pia's movie will be part of the Metro manila Film Festival (MMFF) showing on December 25.

The other stars in the movie are Daniel Matsunaga, Ashley Ortega, Enrico Cuenca, Benjamin Alves, Dominic Roque, Benjamin Alves, Aaron Villaflor, Terry Malvar and Janine Guttierez, all believe in spirits and ghosts except for Enrico who is more a realist believing he needs to see before he believes.

It is very evident that many people want to be scared or frightened to be entertained, but I still think that Pinoy movies are more into the "gulat" factor rather than the horrible gory scenes that could only be effective if the special effects and prosthetics are excellently believable. But if we are going to base the technology available to the former movie, we would definitely get a significant improvement for this new movie since the first one was done several years ago.

The movie is about a group of fashionista friends of which the ladies belong to the "InstaGlam" group composed of social media savvy people who are very active in social media being part of their popularity as "celebrities." They attempt to have some offline fun by playing the Ouija board or what is more known to us as the Spirit of the Glass board. They summon a trio of vengeful spirits which triggers a succession of disturbing supernatural events in relation to a crime committed 50 years ago.

Direk Joey revealed that he had the "friends" attend a workshop to make them feel more close thus making them believable on-screen. Apparently, the bonding of the group became more intimate than he expected. They ended up being the most "makulit" set of actors but none of them had a diva moment nor made life difficult for the director and the staff.

Some scenes had the actors surprised for they did not know that chairs and other props will be flying in and out so that brought out authentic screams especially from Maxine who was really "matatakutin" in real life.

The blogcon was held on October 12 at Limbaga 77 Café located at Tomas Morato in Quezon City and attended by most of the cast. The novie is produced under Octoarts Films in association with T-Rex Entertainment.

  4. Glassblowing is thought to have been concocted around a similar time as the Roman Domain was built up in the first century BC, this was enormously upheld by the Roman Realm, and the main glass workshops were made in Lebanon, Israel and Cyprus. learn how to make glass art
