A Dance to Remember

Wazzup Pilipinas!

The 16th of August. Usually a regular day for high school students like us; where we sit down on our desks inside our classrooms, listening to lectures of our teachers, taking various tests and draining all the blood and air from our brains. But the 16th of August this year was very different from the other year's. It was the day where the P.C.S.H.S. Annual Aerodance Competition was held.

Almost all of our fellow Pascians are gathered in our school gymnasium to witness the various presentations of different competitive sections of the Senior year. It was truly a delightful day, positive spirit is flowing throughout the gym. Every audience is anticipated for the entertainment, every judge is merely prepared to place upon his/her criticism, and every contestant is prepared to show what they can do. We are very excited then that when the announcer started to speak infront upon the podium, to initialize the competition, we shouted atop our lungs. After several introductory activities--Like the doxology and the singing of national anthem-- The event has finally started.

Among the 7 competitors, we were placed 5th to perform in front. It wasn't very long when the section before us stood up and went in front to perform. Whilst their performance, all the hype and excitement surrounds us. Then, once our turn arrives, the excitement was replaced by scruple as we proceed in front to show everybody the product of our efforts. We performed cheerfully and energetically in front, not minding the mistakes and minor embarrassing acts that we did. I admit that we did not do well during the performance;yet, the condition of our minds (to just play along and make the day as happy as you can) made us realize that we do not need the gold, nor the silver and bronze. In every competition, there is never a need to win, you compete to prove what you can, not to prove that you can do better. During that day, we learned an important lesson: Competitions like this do not show how bad  your performance are compared to others', It shows what you can do  to make what you currently are, a 100000000000000000000x better.

Before the day ended, the announcer have spoken the names of the winners. We were LUCKY we weren't placed to any of the 3 top positions--not because I am embarrassed with our own performance, but because I know that we do not deserve to get any, and besides,  if dancing isn't the best of us, so be it! It is what we do that defines us, not what we get.

Anyway, I congratulate the winners of the competition. 'wish you all do as great on other things as you did during the contest. :))

PS: The day ended with a smile on everyone's faces.. GO Seniors! :))
